Positive locating grommet with NVH flap

A grommet configured to pass through a vehicle wall and an acoustic mat is provided. The grommet includes first and second sealing segments, a mounting segment, and a pass-through segment. A flange configured to abut the vehicle wall extends from the first sealing segment. The pass-through segment has a NVH flap that is configured to abut the acoustic mat. The grommet has a grommet installation coupling that includes a mounting hole in the flange for receiving a mounting stud that extends from the vehicle wall and an engagement member that engages the mounting stud. The engagement member applies an installation force to the flange, which moves the grommet longitudinally from a first installation position to a second installation position and pushes the NVH flap against the acoustic mat so that the NVH flap is deflected back toward the flange as the grommet moves to the second installation position.

A motor vehicle comprises a vehicle body, an engine compartment housing an engine, a bonnet movably coupled to the body and arranged to provide a closure member for the engine compartment, the bonnet being movable between open and closed conditions to allow access to the engine compartment, and an engine air intake duct having an orifice through which intake air may be drawn into the engine. The vehicle is provided with first and second air flaw paths whereby air may be supplied to the air intake duct. The first flow path comprises an air inlet aperture disposed at a front portion of the vehicle for receiving ram air and an air outlet aperture aft of the air inlet aperture, the air outlet aperture being provided in fluid communication with the air intake duct orifice. The second flow path is provided by a gap between a side edge of the bonnet and the body of the vehicle, whereby ambient air may be drawn through the gap to the air intake duct.

A system of an insulated passage in an electrically driven motor vehicle includes a passage which connects a first region to a second region, wherein the first region is air-permeable in the direction toward a battery of the motor vehicle and wherein the second region is air-permeable in the direction toward a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. The system further includes an insulating element which includes an expanded material, wherein the expanded material closes the passage against the first region and wherein the expanded material is a one-component thermally cured epoxy resin composition.
