Vehicle-mounted crash attenuator
A crash impact attenuator is adapted for deployment on a vehicle, and includes a cartridge portion having at least one energy absorbing module, as well as a backup system having a backup frame, which is adapted to attach the cartridge portion to the vehicle. The backup system includes an actuator configured to pivot the cartridge portion between a deployed orientation and a stored orientation about a pivot axis disposed on a lower half of the backup system. The backup system further includes a lockout frame member having a contact surface on one end thereof, the lockout frame member being actuatable between a deployed orientation wherein the contact surface engages a portion of the backup frame to support the backup frame against vehicular impact forces and a stowed orientation wherein the contact surface is not engaged with the backup frame.

Bumpers including energy diverting bumper structures and vehicles incorporating the same
A bumper includes a bumper beam assembly including a bumper reinforcement beam having a bumper central portion and bumper extension portions at outboard ends of the bumper reinforcement beam. A reinforcement bracket is positioned on a front side of the bumper beam assembly at an outboard end of the bumper beam assembly. An energy diverting bumper structure is positioned on a front side of the reinforcement bracket.
Front end structure for vehicle
A front end structure for a vehicle includes: a pair of front side members; a front bumper beam located in front of the pair of front side members; a pair of bumper beam extensions respectively extending from both ends of the front bumper beam toward both sides of the vehicle; and a pair of catching members attached to the pair of front side members, respectively. In particular, each bumper beam extension is curved toward the rear of the vehicle, and each catching member protrudes from a corresponding front side member toward the bumper beam extension.
Vehicle front structure
A vehicle front structure includes: a front side member disposed on a front of a vehicle; a bumper beam mounting bracket joined to a front end surface of the front side member; a subframe mounting bracket joined to a rear surface of the bumper beam mounting bracket, and having a seating surface to which a front end of a front subframe is joined; a heat exchanger support joined to the bumper beam mounting bracket; and a first reinforcing member joining the bumper beam mounting bracket and the heat exchanger support.
