FORMED BODY, STRUCTURAL MEMBER, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING FORMED BODY
A formed body 1 includes a first flange 3, a body portion 100 (a first vertical wall portion 4, a top plate portion 5, a second vertical wall portion 6), and a second flange 7, and the formed body 1 is made of steel having tensile strength of 440 MPa or more. The first flange 3 extends toward the second flange 7 from an edge portion of the first vertical wall portion 4. The first flange 3 and the body portion 100 curve so as to conform to each other as viewed from the direction orthogonal to the top plate portion 5.
VEHICLE SIDE RAIL SYSTEM
A vehicle side rail system is for use with a vehicle, such as a truck, having an elevated chassis and having a longitudinally extending frame member. The side rail system includes a pair of support members mounted to the frame member and extending transverse to the frame member. The support members have a plurality of openings extending therethrough. The system includes a pair of legs, each leg having a mounting portion and a depending rail portion. The mounting portions have a plurality of openings therethrough and the mounting portions are telescopically mounted to a respective support member and selectively mountable thereto. Each rail portion has a plurality of openings. Fasteners are insertable into aligned openings of respective mounting portions and support members to secure the legs to the support members at a desired location. At least one rail extends between and mounted to the rail portions. The rail is selectively mountable to the rail portions.
Strap underride guard
Disclosed is a guard for a trailer that utilizes a strap webbing to prevent a vehicle from underriding the trailer. The guard includes one or more straps that span the length of the trailer and may include additional structures to pre-tension the straps before a crash or supplement the tension of the straps as a vehicle crashes into the guard. When two or more straps are utilized on a single guard, the straps may be aligned parallel to each other or may form a cross shape. Additional structures may be incorporated into the guard to direct an impacting vehicle towards or away from specific features of the trailer.
Composite material structural member and method of manufacturing the composite material structural member
A composite material structural member including a core member, composite material members, and at least one composite material sheet. The members are disposed around the core member and are adhered to each other to form a hollow space. The composite material sheet is disposed between the core member and the members so as to overlap the bonded portion between the members. The composite material sheet forms a hollow composited structure together with the members.
AERODYNAMIC TRAILER SYSTEM WTH DUAL STIFFNESS SKIRT
An aerodynamic trailer system is provided that has a skirt support member with a trailer attachment that attaches the skirt support member to a trailer. The skirt support member has a skirt attachment that attaches the skirt support member to a skirt. The skirt has a height that extends in a vertical direction of the aerodynamic trailer system. The skirt has an upper side, a lower side, a front side, and a rear side. The skirt also has a lower section that extends in the vertical direction from the lower side to an attachment location with the skirt attachment. The skirt has an upper section that extends in the vertical direction from the attachment location to the upper side. The lower section has a higher bending stiffness than the upper section.
Side underride guard
A side underride system configured to be coupled to a trailer may comprise a first skirt wall coupled to the trailer, positioned below a first side wall of the trailer, and extending along a first length of the trailer between a skirt wall front end and a skirt wall rear end and a cable system including a first cable coupled to the trailer, positioned below the first side wall, and extending along a second length of the trailer between a cable system front end and a cable system rear end, the skirt wall rear end being positioned forward of the cable system rear end.
Vehicle protection assembly
Vehicle side protector is disclosed. The vehicle external side protector vehicle external side protector has at least two 2-piece vertically moveable guards of a height from bottom of wheel to desired height up the vehicle and a connecting guard stretching from the first to the second vertically moveable guard. The 2-pieces of a vertically moveable guard are connected by a lever; and the length of the vehicle external side protector is less than the distance from the outer perimeter of a front wheel to the outer perimeter of a back wheel of a vehicle side to deploy and retract from underneath the vehicle and be stored underneath the vehicle in parallel plane to the vehicle's undercarriage. The vehicle external side protector rests on a track with an end point block; and connected to an actuator. Also disclosed are vehicle external front and back protectors.
MOUNTING SYSTEM FOR TRUCK UNDERRIDE PROTECTION
A mounting system for a guard panel on a vehicle with cross members. The mounting system comprises a mounting rail having first and second ends. The mounting rail includes a clamping portion including a mounting platform, a mounting slot in the mounting platform along a length of the mounting rail between the first and second ends, and a panel portion. The mounting system includes a panel bracket coupled to the panel portion. The panel bracket receives at least one guard panel. The mounting system includes a clamping body coupled to the mounting platform. The clamping body is movable along the mounting slot of the mounting platform. The clamping body engages a first surface of a cross member and the mounting platform engages a second surface of the cross member so as to clamp the cross member between the clamping body and the mounting platform.
TRUCK SIDE - SKIRT
In a truck having a plate-like side guard disposed at each of the right and left side faces of a vehicle body and arranged apart from the lower face of a cargo bed, a flexible sheet having a rectangular shape is attached between the cargo bed and the side guard. The sheet has one end portion in the vertical direction secured to one of the cargo bed and the side guard, and the other end portion in the vertical direction detachably fastened to the other of the cargo bed and the side guard.
SIDE UNDERRIDE GUARD
A side underride system configured to be coupled to a trailer is disclosed. The side underride system comprises a support system configured to be positioned below the trailer to provide side underride protection. The support system includes a cable system and a brace system. The cable system is configured to couple to the trailer. The brace system includes a plurality of cross-braces that each extend at least partially across a width of the trailer, are spaced apart at intervals along a length of the trailer, and are configured to capture the cable system.
