Side airbag device and vehicle seat provided with same
The airbag is provided with a main chamber that deploys toward the front of the vehicle and a pre-chamber that houses the inflator and begins to deploy ahead of the main chamber in the vehicle width direction to the inside of the main chamber. Here, the main chamber is demarcated into a front region and a rear region by a demarcation. The boundary area between the main chamber and the pre-chamber is provided with a front vent that directs the expanding gas from the pre-chamber to the pre-chamber front area and a rear vent that directs the gas to the rear region.
CENTER PILLAR STRUCTURE
A center pillar structure may include a center pillar inner upper connected to a side inner, a center pillar inner connected to the center pillar inner upper in up and down directions, a center pillar reinforcement outer connected to a front pillar reinforcement outer and connected to the center pillar inner along the up and down directions, a center pillar reinforcement disposed along the up and down directions on the inner side between the center pillar inner and the center pillar reinforcement outer, and coupled between front/rear flange combined portions of the center pillar inner and the center pillar reinforcement outer, and a seat belt reinforcement shaped corresponding to the center pillar reinforcement, and connected to the center pillar reinforcement to form an inner closed section along the up and down directions.
SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE
A side airbag device includes an airbag 2 and an inflator. The airbag is formed in a bag shape by connecting peripheries of first and second main base cloths and of a vehicle inner side and a vehicle outer side. The airbag is partitioned into a front chamber and a rear chamber by a first partition wall. First inner tethers are provided in the front chamber and connect between a forward vehicle direction end of the front chamber and the first partition wall. Lengths of the first inner tethers and are shorter than a length between a first joint part connecting the first partition wall to the first inner tether and the forward vehicle direction end of the front chamber in the airbag in a front to rear vehicle direction before the airbag is deployed.
Vehicle collision prediction algorithm using radar sensor and ultrasonic park assist sensor
A method and apparatus of predicting a crash are provided. The method includes detecting coordinates of a target obstacle based on first coordinate information of a radar sensor and second coordinate information of an ultrasonic sensor, translating the second coordinate information to the coordinate system of the first coordinate information and generating translated coordinate information, estimating a position, speed, and acceleration of a vehicle if the vehicle is a predetermined distance from the target obstacle based on the translated coordinate information, determining a potential crash type between the vehicle and the target obstacle based on the estimated position, speed and acceleration of the vehicle, determining a three-dimensional movement trajectory based on the estimated position, speed and acceleration of the vehicle and the determined crash type, and predicting a crash point of the vehicle, a crash point of the target object and a crash time based on the three-dimensional movement trajectory.
External side airbag
A vehicle includes a body having two pillars spaced from each other. The body includes a rocker extending from one pillar to the other pillar. An airbag is fixed to the rocker and inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag extends outboard of the rocker in the inflated position. The airbag includes a first chamber and a second chamber substantially fluidly separated from each other. The first chamber extends farther outboard of the rocker in the inflated position than the second chamber.
Airbag device
An airbag device includes a main bag configured to be inflated when gas is supplied into the main bag, the main bag configured to be deployed between first and second vehicle seats disposed adjacent to each other in a vehicle width direction in vehicle front view and toward a lateral side of an occupant seated in the first vehicle seat. The airbag device further includes a sub-bag configured to be inflated when gas is supplied into the sub-bag, the sub-bag configured to be disposed between a portion of the main bag in an upper part of the main bag and the second vehicle seat.
Sill beam uniform deceleration unit
Devices and methods for absorbing crash energy are described. A uniform deceleration unit (UDU) includes a first layer having a top and a bottom, the top of the first layer arranged to be outwardly facing towards a direction of a crash force when the UDU is installed, a second layer on the bottom of the first layer, the second layer having a rib and web structure with a first arrangement, a third layer on a bottom of the second layer, the third layer having a rib and web structure with a second arrangement, and a fourth layer on a bottom of the third layer, the fourth layer arranged to be inwardly facing when the UDU is installed, the fourth layer including a reaction beam arranged to allow the first, second, and third layers to crush. The UDU may be installed in or positioned near the side sill beam.
VEHICULAR SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG
A vehicular seat cushion airbag is disclosed. The seat cushion airbag includes a first cushion, which is mounted on a seat cushion of a vehicle so as to be expanded at the rear portion of a passenger's thigh, and a second cushion, which extends from the first cushion in an upward direction of a bolster portion of the seat cushion so as to be expanded toward the lateral side surface of the passenger's thigh, wherein the first cushion is expanded at the rear portion of the passenger's thigh so as to prevent forward movement of the passenger's pelvis, and the second cushion is expanded toward the lateral side surface of the passenger's thigh so as to prevent outward spreading of the passenger's legs.
