Work vehicle

A tractor includes a protective frame including a lower frame and an upper frame rotatably coupled with an upper portion of the lower frame, and an assist mechanism to assists a rotation of the upper frame.

Occupant protection system

An occupant protection system has a component in question reduced in size and cost. The occupant protection system includes: a rollover airbag device provided in a vehicle interior; a battery configured to supply power to the rollover airbag device; a controller configured to determine a rollover of a vehicle and, if a rollover of the vehicle is determined, activate the rollover airbag device using power supplied from the battery; and a backup power source configured to charge power to be used if the battery fails. The controller determines a collision of the vehicle and examines the battery for any failure and, if a collision of the vehicle is determined and the battery is examined to have a failure, activates the rollover airbag device using the power charged in the backup power source.

Vehicle engine mounting

A vehicle configuration wherein the center of mass of the vehicle is approximately superimposed upon the passenger and driver centers of mass when seated within the vehicle. An occupant's center of mass can be approximated using a standard center of mass position approximation, or a combination of any number of standard center of mass position approximations. The vehicle's center of mass can be approximately superimposed upon the occupant's center of mass in at least the longitudinal and vertical directions.

VEHICLE SAFETY DEVICE FOR ENGINE SHUT-OFF AND EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
20220090551 · 2022-03-24 ·

A vehicle safety device for detecting vehicle tilt automatically shuts-off power to an ignition system and fuel pump and summons emergency assistance using a bistable switch circuit that toggles between a first bistable switch position in response to a reset signal and a second bistable switch position in response to an alert signal. The safety device can remain in the bistable switch positions without a power source and employ an encrypted bi-directional protocol to summon emergency assistance and generate the reset signal without vehicle operator intervention.

AIRBAG MOUNTING ASSEMBLY

An apparatus for connecting a curtain airbag to a vehicle includes a fabric mounting portion formed from or connected to the curtain airbag. The fabric mounting portion has a fastener retainer for retaining a fastener in the mounting portion during installation of the curtain airbag in the vehicle. The fastener retainer is formed from the mounting portion fabric and defined by one or more slots that extend through the mounting portion fabric, leaving the fastener retainer connected to the remainder of the mounting portion by one or more tabs. The mounting portion also has a retainer opening extending through the fastener retainer and sized to form an interference fit with the fastener so that the fastener retainer holds the fastener. The one or more tabs in combination with the one or more slots permits the fastener retainer to move relative to the remainder of the mounting portion.

SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE

A side airbag device includes an airbag 2 and an inflator. The airbag is formed in a bag shape by connecting peripheries of first and second main base cloths and of a vehicle inner side and a vehicle outer side. The airbag is partitioned into a front chamber and a rear chamber by a first partition wall. First inner tethers are provided in the front chamber and connect between a forward vehicle direction end of the front chamber and the first partition wall. Lengths of the first inner tethers and are shorter than a length between a first joint part connecting the first partition wall to the first inner tether and the forward vehicle direction end of the front chamber in the airbag in a front to rear vehicle direction before the airbag is deployed.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING A MOTORCYCLE
20210268982 · 2021-09-02 ·

A method and an apparatus for monitoring a motorcycle. Based on the acceleration-relevant data, a vehicle motion and a vehicle position in three-dimensional space are estimated. The vehicle position in space is analyzed and is evaluated as a normal or a critical riding state. A detection direction of a sensor unit is predefined in such a way that in an upright normal resting position of the motorcycle the detection direction lies in a horizontal plane, and the detected acceleration-relevant data encompass a first acceleration component in a longitudinal vehicle direction and a second acceleration component in a transverse vehicle direction. A riding state evaluated as critical is plausibilized with the estimated vehicle motion in order to recognize a critical resting position after an accident. An emergency call is generated when a critical resting position after an accident is recognized.

Method for activating at least one secondary function of an occupant protection system of a vehicle

A method, a device and a computer program for activating a secondary function of an occupant protection system, a vertical acceleration and a lateral acceleration being detected and evaluated and an instantaneous position of the vehicle being determined based on the vertical acceleration and the first lateral acceleration. In the process, a lifting-off of the vehicle and/or an impact of the vehicle on its wheels is detected. A secondary function is activated if an impact of the vehicle on its roof and/or if an impact of the vehicle on one side or an impact of the vehicle on its wheels is detected.

ROOF AIRBAG FOR VEHICLES AND CONTROL METHOD TO DEPLOY SAME

A roof airbag for vehicles and a control method to deploy the roof airbag are proposed. The roof airbag, which protects occupants by minimizing reduction of internal pressure of the airbag in an accident event in which a vehicle rolls over several times in sequence, includes: a main inflator and sub-inflator which generate gas; and a controller configured to ignite the main inflator to deploy an airbag cushion when a rollover accident of a vehicle occurs, and configured to ignite the sub-inflator to increase internal pressure of the airbag cushion when a secondary accident occurs following the primary rollover accident of the vehicle.
