An apparatus and methods are provided for a chassis for an off-road vehicle that includes roll cage center supports. The chassis is a welded-tube variety of chassis that includes a front portion and a rear portion that are joined to an intervening passenger cabin portion. The roll cage center supports include angled braces for counteracting lateral forces on a canopy of the vehicle during a rollover event. A center roof bar disposed along a midline of the canopy provides overhead protection to occupants within the passenger cabin portion. Windshield braces within a windshield area of the canopy reinforce a front of the center roof bar. A rear of the center roof bar is reinforced by roof braces within a rear of the canopy. The windshield braces and the roof braces support the center roof bar so as to withstand forces exerted on the canopy during a rollover event.

An arrangement for a vehicle roof is provided having a roof element, which can be coupled to a roof body of a motor vehicle and permits a view through the vehicle roof, and a safety device, which is assigned to the roof element and which has a safety element and a drive which is configured to move the safety element relative to the roof body and to transfer same from a first, retracted state, in which the safety element is stowed in a predetermined manner, into a second, extended state, in which the safety element covers a surface portion on a lower side of the roof element in a predetermined manner and opposes penetration of a body through the roof element.

Utility vehicle

A utility vehicle of the present invention comprises a chassis; and a R.O.P.S. provided on the chassis and surrounding a cabin, wherein the R.O.P.S. includes a pair of left and right front pillars, a pair of left and right side beams, a pair of left and right rear pillars, and a front beam and a rear beam which extend in a width direction of a vehicle body, a rear support supporting the R.O.P.S. from a rear is connected to a rear portion of the chassis, and a rear end of the side beam, a side end of the rear beam, an upper end of the rear pillar, and a front end of the rear support are connected by a connecting portion.

Vehicle side door

A vehicle side door includes: a door main body; a mirror stay fixed to the door main body so as to be at least partially placed outwardly from the door main body, the mirror stay including a support portion placed outwardly from the door main body; and a mirror unit including a mirror holder supported by the support portion, and a mirror supported by the mirror holder, wherein: the door main body includes an outer panel constituting an outer face of the door main body, an inner panel placed inwardly from the outer panel and fixed to the outer panel, and a reinforcing member fixed to the inner panel or the outer panel; and the mirror stay is fixed to the reinforcing member.

Structural tube connection device for a vehicle roll over protection system

A vehicle roll over protection system with at least one hoop member, longitudinal member, and connection device. The connection device couples the longitudinal member to the hoop member and includes first and second side plates that are fixedly attached on opposing sides of the hoop member in a substantially parallel arrangement to define a channel between the first and second side plates. Each side plate includes a cut-out that forms a cradle. The longitudinal member is received in the cradle. One or more wing plates are fixed to the longitudinal member. The wing plate(s) are received in the channel between the first and second side plates such that the first and second side plates act as displacement limiting features that limit the displacement of the longitudinal member relative to the hoop member in multiple directions.
