Front passenger seat airbag device
A front passenger seat airbag device includes a module case; a front passenger seat airbag configured such that, in a folded state, a height of a first airbag section positioned at a vehicle outer side is lower than a height of a second airbag section positioned at a vehicle inner side, and widths of the first airbag section and the second airbag section are substantially the same; an inflator disposed at a bottom side of the module case; and a raising member disposed at a bottom portion of the module case, and that raises a height of a first support face supporting the first airbag section to be higher than a height of a second support face supporting the second airbag section, such that a height of an upper face of the first airbag section is substantially aligned with a height of an upper face of the second airbag section.
HELICAL BELT AND BELT TRANSMISSION GEAR
A passenger protection device includes: a front airbag configured to inflate so as to cover a front of the passenger; a front inflator configured to supply the inflation gas to the front airbag; an airbag for window accommodated with being folded at an upper edge-side of a window arranged at a lateral side of the passenger and configured to inflate so as to cover a vehicle interior-side of the window; and an inflator for window configured to supply the inflation gas to the airbag for window. The airbag for window includes a bag-adjacent inflation part configured to cover a side of a head of the passenger received by the front airbag, and an activation start timing of the inflator for window is set within a range of 20 ms to 5 ms from a time at which the front airbag having completely inflated starts to receive the passenger.
Airbag device for front passenger seat
An airbag device for a front passenger seat includes a front passenger seat airbag main body, a center airbag portion, an actuator and a control section. The actuator is configured to switch a strap between a first state and a second state. In the first state, the center airbag portion is retained in a folded state. In the second state, the other end portion of the strap is released and the center airbag portion is allowed to inflate and expand. The control section sets the actuator to the first state when there is a full overlap frontal collision, and sets the actuator to the second state when there is a collision that is any of an oblique collision against a driver seat side of a vehicle front portion or a small overlap collision.
Bumper bean design for crash signal separation
A system for airbag deployment within a vehicle may include an airbag, a bumper beam, at least one sensor, and an electronic control unit (ECU). The bumper beam may include a left crush can and a right crush can. The left crush can and the right crush can may each include a first zone associated with a first stiffness in a vehicle longitudinal direction and a second zone associated with a second stiffness in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The sensor may receive one or more signals associated with an impact on the vehicle. The ECU may deploy the airbag at a timing based on one or more characteristics of one or more of the signals and one or more predetermined characteristics associated with the first stiffness of the first zone and the second stiffness of the second zone, thereby providing robust discrimination between a front flat impact mode and an front offset impact mode.
Airbag device
The airbag device includes an airbag including a base fabric and an occupant protection fabric whose outer peripheries are joined together. The occupant protection fabric is positioned on the vehicle rear side of the base fabric and configured to restrain an occupant, and includes: at least one protruding portion that protrudes to the vehicle rear side; a flat portion that is continuously formed from the at least one protruding portion and is designed to come into contact with the occupant; and a tether that is disposed between the base fabric and the at least one protruding portion in the airbag, extending from the flat portion to the joint between the occupant protection fabric and the base fabric. The tether is joined at its end on the joint side with a base edge of the at least one protruding portion and the outer periphery of the base fabric.
Frontal airbag, frontal airbag module and motor vehicle
A frontal airbag (10) having an outer skin (12) enclosing a gas space (G). The outer skin (12) forming an impact area (14) in front a vehicle occupant (P) and extends horizontally in a first direction (Y) and in a second perpendicular direction (Z) when the airbag (10) is fully deployed. A first tether (20) extends in the first direction (Y) from a first end (21) connected to the impact area (14) at a first connection (25) to a second end (22) connected to the impact area (14) at a second connection (26). The first connection (25) extending in the second direction (Z) from a lower end to an upper end and the second connection (24) extending in the second direction (Z) from a lower end to an upper end, such that an intermediate impact area section (14c) is spanned by the first tether (20). The first tether (20) is under tension when the outer skin (12) is fully deployed such that the tension in the intermediate section (14c) of the impact area (14) is reduced relative to impact area sections (14a, 14b) next to the intermediate section (14c).
Airbag device
An airbag device includes an airbag stored in a storage part provided in front of an occupant seated on a seat. The airbag has an occupant protecting section configured to protect the occupant on a rear surface at the time of completion of inflation; the occupant protecting section includes: an upper half body restraining surface configured to receive an upper half body of the occupant; and a head receiving section formed in a left region and a right region of a center in a left-right direction of the occupant protecting section to protrude rearward from the upper half body restraining surface, in a region above the upper half body restraining surface. The head receiving section is configured so that a part between a left restraining surface and a right restraining surface upon completion of inflation is continued from the upper half body restraining surface.
Roof mounted airbag assembly for rear seat
An airbag assembly includes a base member and an airbag supported by the base member and being inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag includes a panel and a plurality of sheets attached to the panel. The panel includes a first portion extending in a first direction from the base member to a distal end and a second portion extending in a second direction transverse to the first direction from the base member to a distal end. Each sheet is elongated in the first direction along the first portion of the panel and elongated in the second direction along the second portion of the panel. During a vehicle impact, the momentum of the occupant may move the occupant towards the airbag. The airbag may absorb energy from the head and knees of the occupant, which may assist in reducing injuries.
Vehicle airbag system
An airbag system has a curtain airbag, a first airbag and an airbag guiding member. The curtain airbag is installed along an A-pillar or a roof structure within a passenger compartment and deploys covering at least a window section of a door and a portion of the A-pillar. The first airbag is installed to a forward structure within the passenger compartment and deploys to an inflated orientation covering at least a portion of the forward structure. The airbag guiding member is installed to a side area of the forward structure adjacent to the door, a forward area of the door adjacent to the A-pillar or the A-pillar. The airbag guiding member moves to a position in which the airbag guiding member urges the curtain airbag and the first airbag into contact with one another as the curtain airbag and the first airbag move to their respective inflated orientations.
Air bag device
An airbag device capable of restraining an obliquely forward movement of an occupant. The airbag device includes: an inflator which is operated by a signal from a sensor that detects a collision and which discharges expansion gas; to deploy and expand the airbags. The airbags include: a first airbag which deploys to the front of an occupant for restraining a forward movement of the occupant; and a second airbag which is joined to a side part of the first airbag on a cabin center side and restrains an obliquely forward movement of the occupant. The collision sensor is capable of discriminating between a first collision mode which is not accompanied by rotation of the vehicle and a second collision mode which is accompanied by a rotation of the vehicle in a horizontal plane, and the second airbag is deployed only when the second collision mode occurs.
