HYBRID RESISTANCE SYSTEM
A resistance system, which can be suitable for incorporation in exercise equipment, is a hybrid resistance assembly having at least a first and a second resistance unit. The first resistance unit can be of a first type and the second resistance unit can be of a second type. The first resistance unit can be an inertial resistance unit, which incorporates an inertial load that creates resistance influenced by the inertia of a movable mass, such as a rotatable flywheel. The second resistance unit can be a static or non-inertial resistance unit, such as a displacement resistance unit, which incorporates a load that creates resistance influenced by displacement (e.g., linear or rotational displacement) of an input to the displacement resistance unit.
Adjustable exercise apparatus
Disclosed herein are various embodiments of an exercise apparatus. In certain embodiments, an exercise apparatus comprises a frame and a seat assembly, the seat assembly comprising a seat, the seat configured to move between a first position and a second position, wherein the first position accommodates use of the exercise apparatus by a user sitting on the seat and wherein the second position accommodates use of the exercise apparatus by a user sitting in a wheelchair. The seat assembly may be pivotably coupled to the frame. The seat assembly may comprise a stop configured to inhibit movement of the seat, and may further comprise a biasing element that is biased to disengage the stop.
Reciprocating, dual directional, negative resistance, exercise machine
An exercise machine having band grips mounted on arms that reciprocate at a pre-set incrementally increasing rate of reciprocation and at an applied force capacity greater than a resistive force applied by the user. The band grips are universally mounted for manipulation by the user for repositioning the hands at the beginning of each stroke of reciprocation without removing the hands from the grips, thereby exercising alternate opposing it is. muscle groups during alternate strokes of reciprocation and allowing the user to apply a desired resistive force, which force is measured and displayed for viewing by the user during exercise.
CABLE EXERCISE DEVICE AND METHOD
A cable exercise device includes a vertically movable weight stack, a rotatable spool assembly, first and second cables, and a movable exercise implement. The rotatable spool assembly is located proximate the weight stack, and comprises spaced apart large and small cable spools affixed to a common rotatable spool shaft. The first cable has a terminal end attached to the weight stack and a winding end attached to the small cable spool. The second cable has a winding end attached to the large cable spool, and extends from the large cable spool to a terminal end. The movable exercise implement is secured to the cable exercise device by the terminal end of the second cable, and is adapted for being employed by a user performing an exercise.
EXERCISE MACHINE SAFETY ENHANCEMENTS
Sensor data is collected from a sensor monitoring a tension generating device of an exercise machine. The sensor data is analyzed to determine whether the sensor data is within a specification. In the event the sensor data is not within a specification, an error stop mode is entered for the tension generating device.
EXERCISE MACHINE DIFFERENTIAL AND LOCKABLE ARM
An exercise machine is disclosed. The exercise machine comprises a motor. The exercise machine comprises a gearbox coupled to the motor, wherein the gearbox comprises bevel gears. The exercise machine comprises a spool coupled to the gearbox. The exercise machine comprises a cable wound about the spool.
A second exercise machine is disclosed. The second exercise machine comprises a motor. The second exercise machine comprises a lockable translatable mount. The second exercise machine comprises a cable coupled to the motor via the lockable translatable mount. The second exercise machine comprises a sensor coupled to the lockable translatable mount, wherein the sensor is used at least in part to determine mount lock state.
A third exercise machine is disclosed. The third exercise machine comprises a motor. The third exercise machine comprises a mount. The third exercise machine comprises a cable coupled to the motor via the mount. The third exercise machine comprises a sensor coupled to the mount, wherein the sensor is used at least in part to determine mount lock state. The third exercise machine comprises a lockable arm coupled to the mount and a second sensor coupled to the lockable arm, wherein the second sensor is used at least in part to determine arm angle.
EXERCISE MACHINE WITH PANCAKE MOTOR
An exercise machine is disclosed. The exercise machine comprises a pancake motor. The exercise machine comprises a torque controller coupled to the pancake motor. The exercise machine comprises a high resolution encoder coupled to the pancake motor.
Fitness devices and methods for switching training modes thereof
Some embodiments of the present disclosure provide fitness devices and methods for switching a training mode. The fitness device may include a resistance module and at least one type of fitness equipment. The resistance module may be detachably connected with the at least one type of fitness equipment. The resistance module may provide resistance to the at least one type of fitness equipment. The at least one type of fitness equipment may include a switching device to switching the training mode.
Apparatus for physical exercise
An apparatus for physical exercise comprising a resistance arrangement having at least one hydraulic cylinder adapted for providing resistance forces in at least a first and a second direction, the apparatus having a force transmission assembly through which the resistance forces are operable. The force transmission assembly having at least one actuation member being in operable engagement therewith and being adapted to transfer forces generated by a user in at least two directions of motion to the at least one hydraulic cylinder via the force transmission assembly. The resistance forces created by the at least one hydraulic cylinder opposing the user generated forces.
