EXERCISE MACHINE WITH LIFTING ARM
An exercise machine has a main frame and a user support movably mounted relative to the main frame for movement between a start position and an end position during an exercise. At least one user engagement device is movably mounted relative to the main frame for engagement and actuation by a user during an exercise, and a connecting linkage translates movement of the user engagement device to movement of the user support. A lifting arm is movably mounted relative to the main frame and associated with at least one of the user support, user engagement device, and connecting linkage so as to move during an exercise. A load associated with the lifting arm provides exercise resistance.
Locking mechanism
A locking mechanism for a shaft provides secure frictional engagement to the shaft while manually operable to be removed from the shaft. There is a first cylinder allowable to slide freely on the shaft. One or more holes retaining one or more balls allow a projection of the balls into an interior of the first cylinder. A tensioning ring (second cylinder) partially overlaps the first cylinder, retains the balls within the holes, and has at least a portion of the inside diameter increasing in diameter. A biasing mechanism acts against the second cylinder to urge the balls into the first cylinder interior to frictionally engage the shaft. Two release mechanisms movable with the biasing mechanism manually actuated against the bias move the second cylinder to allow the balls to freely move within the holes and the locking mechanism to be slid onto and removed from the shaft.
Foot Harness for Lower Body Cable Machine Exercises
A foot or leg harness is disclosed for use with a means of resistance. The harness provides improved muscle activation for lower body exercises. The foot or leg harness includes a harness portion to attach user. The harness is designed to attach to a means of resistance. The point of resistance is distributed into the harness through an angular strap portion so that resistance for the exercise is encompassing the foot or leg as a unit rather than one particular area.
EXERCISE BIKE WITH AN ADJUSTABLE INTERNAL GEAR DEVICE THAT IS ADJUSTABLE
An exercise bike includes a main frame having a seat extending therefrom. A peddle assembly is mounted on the main frame. A rotating damping element is rotatably mounted on the main frame by a second axle. A drive assembly is connected to the peddle assembly and the second axle. An internal gear device is disposed on the rotating damping element and includes a casing, an internal transmission is centrally received in the casing for driving the casing and a drive element connected to the internal transmission for operating the internal transmission. The second axle centrally extends through the internal gear device and the internal transmission is securely sleeved on the second axle, wherein the rotating damping element is securely sleeved on the on the casing. The damping provided to the exercise bike A is adjusted when the drive element of the internal gear device is operated once.
Adjustable exercise apparatus
Disclosed herein are various embodiments of an exercise apparatus. In certain embodiments, an exercise apparatus comprises a frame and a seat assembly, the seat assembly comprising a seat, the seat configured to move between a first position and a second position, wherein the first position accommodates use of the exercise apparatus by a user sitting on the seat and wherein the second position accommodates use of the exercise apparatus by a user sitting in a wheelchair. The seat assembly may be pivotably coupled to the frame. The seat assembly may comprise a stop configured to inhibit movement of the seat, and may further comprise a biasing element that is biased to disengage the stop.
PATIENT AID DEVICES, PARTICULARLY FOR MOBILE UPPER EXTREMITY SUPPORT IN RAILED DEVICES SUCH AS PARALLEL BARS AND TREADMILLS
Patient aid devices and an associated method of supporting an upper extremity are described and include a mobile upper extremity support for the patient. A support assembly supports a first side of an upper body of the user for movement along a first rail. The support assembly also allows motion of a second side of an upper body relative to the first side.
Joint for rehabilitation device
A joint for a rehabilitation device and a rehabilitation device are disclosed. The joint is defined for operation between an end of a first member and an end of a second member. The joint enables the second member to pivot at the joint with respect to the first member. The joint includes a positioning mechanism for defining a set position from which the second member pivots. The joint also includes a restriction mechanism for restricting the degree of pivoting of the second member, from the set position. The joint further includes a biasing mechanism for biasing the second member such that it returns to the set position when an opposing force applied to the second member is less than the bias of the biasing mechanism. When the joint is in the set position, the biasing mechanism is configured such that no bias is applied to the second member.
Exercise machine with a vertically pivotable arm
An exercise machine is disclosed. The exercise machine comprises a motor, an actuator, a vertically pivotable arm, and a cable. A position of the vertically pivotable arm is able to be locked at least in part by using a component including one or more teeth. The vertically pivotable arm includes a release component. The cable is coupled between the actuator and the motor through the vertically pivotable arm. The motor facilitates strength training at least in part by generating resistance such that a force on the actuator corresponds to a specified weight.
