VEHICULAR OCCUPANT RESTRAINING DEVICE
A vehicular occupant restraining device, that includes: an inside air bag arranged on an inner side, in a vehicle width direction, of a side frame in a side section, the inside air bag receiving a gas supply from a second inflator, the inside air bag deploying by inflation in the side section earlier and at a higher pressure than a side air bag, and the inside air bag pressing a seated occupant to an inner side in the vehicle width direction. The inside air bag is configured so as to deploy by inflation in a region more to a vehicle upper side than a second-from-bottom rib of six ribs provided in a torso of an AM50 type international standard side collision dummy, in a state in which the dummy is seated in the vehicular seat.
Telescoping vehicle safety guard
A safety guard for a vehicle, such as a school or transit bus, includes a skirt extending below a side body portion of the vehicle and between front and rear wheels along a side of the vehicle. The skirt functions to push individuals and other animate objects out of the path of the wheels for safety purposes, while being mounted for separate linear and arcuate movements relative to the body of the vehicle to protect the guard from damage upon abutting an inanimate object during operation of the vehicle.
Vehicle occupant support
An arrangement in passenger vehicles, that diverts the impact energy in lateral or side impacts away from the passengers to the remaining mass of the vehicle thereby protecting the passengers, and in the same arrangement provides utilitarian access to the vehicle, such utilitarian access making it possible to both install multi-element contoured surround seats for passengers and the driver, and also a safety device for head-on collision protection that obviates the need for conventional seat belts and front impact airbags. An indo-skeletal structural arrangement proposed for the vehicle, provides further benefits by targeting the strength of the vehicle to protect passengers while minimizing other massive elements in the vehicle. Side impact protection for the head and neck are proposed with airbags and aircushions.
SEATBELT AIRBAG
An embodiment seatbelt airbag includes a diaphragm configured to divide an internal space of an airbag cushion in a deployed state into a first chamber and a second chamber, the airbag cushion being configured to be deployed from a seatbelt, a first support part disposed at a lower side of the first chamber, wherein the first support part has a first shape that widens toward a front side of a passenger and is configured to be supported on thighs of the passenger, a second support part disposed at an upper side of the second chamber, wherein the second support part has a second shape that widens toward the passenger and is configured to support a head of the passenger, and a deployment adjustment device configured to adjust an operation of deploying the first chamber and the second chamber in accordance with a seat arrangement.
OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
An occupant restraint system 1 includes a seatbelt device 3 having a webbing 5 that is designed to extend obliquely across an occupant, seated on a seat, so as to pass through a shoulder part located on one side in a lateral direction and a part in front of a waist part located on the other side, and thereby to restrain an upper body of the occupant. The occupant restraint system 1 also includes an airbag device 4 having a bag body 10 that is installed on the webbing 5 in a folded state and designed to expand and deploy upon input of an impact load and thereby to restrain a periphery of a neck part of the occupant.
Telescoping vehicle safety guard
A safety guard for a vehicle, such as a school or transit bus, tractor trailer or the like-type vehicle, includes a guard positioned in front of a wheel of the vehicle that will function to push individuals and other animate objects out of the path of the wheels for safety purposes, while being mounted for movement to protect the guard from damage upon abutting an inanimate object during operation of the vehicle.
