Wireless airbag control system
A wireless airbag control system includes a central master electronic control module having an RF transceiver. One or more slave nodes are provided, each slave node being associated with an airbag that is mounted to perform an operating function with respect to a mechanical device. Each slave node further includes an RF transceiver, a central processing unit and a CAN controller. Two-way communication is shared between the slave nodes and the master electronic control module on a prioritized message basis.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROTECTING OCCUPANTS OF A VEHICLE
A protective system for a motor vehicle with automatic electrical seat position control and/or automatic electrical steering wheel adjustment is provided. The protective system includes a seat position control unit, a steering wheel adjustment control unit, an accident detection device and a communications connection. The seat position control unit is deactivates the automatic electrical seat position control. The steering wheel adjustment control unit is deactivates the automatic electrical steering wheel adjustment. The accident detection device detects a traffic accident of the motor vehicle. The communications connection connects the accident detection device to the seat position control unit and/or the steering wheel adjustment control unit. The accident detection device outputs at least one accident signal to the communications connection in the event of the detection of a traffic accident of the motor vehicle.
Centripetal phase shift isolation control system, in an oscillation configuration of transposition, deflection, dampen, dissipation, and isolation of a stochastic vector
The protected mass (PM) of a vehicle collision event, is signaled for deceleration, by oscillation cycling, or a single transposition and/or DDD of the PM, in isolation of an unprotected mass (UPM).
CHECKING DEVICE FOR DATA PREPARATION UNIT
A checking device for a data preparation unit, including a preparation element for preparing sensor data for a data transmission; and a comparator for comparing the sensor data with the prepared sensor data; a fault of the data preparation unit being detected in the event that the prepared sensor data do not match the sensor data.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AIRBAG
An apparatus and a method for controlling an airbag are provided The apparatus includes an imaging device that includes cameras and lights and an image processor that performs an image processing for an image obtained by the imaging device. A collision sensor senses a collision of a vehicle and an airbag driver operates the airbag. A controller extracts face information of a passenger from the image of which the image processing is performed by the image processor, determines airbag control information based on the extracted face information, and then operates the airbag driver based on the determined airbag control information when the collision of the vehicle is predicted.
Protection of a vehicle occupant
The present disclosure relates to a method performed by an occupant protection system of a vehicle for supporting protection of a vehicle occupant in the event of an ongoing or imminent collision. The occupant protection system comprises an airbag panel arrangement arranged in connection with a dashboard of the vehicle, which airbag panel arrangement comprises an inflatable airbag adapted to upon deployment protect lower body parts of a vehicle occupant seated in a vehicle seat facing the dashboard. The occupant protection system determines a distance in a predeterminable direction between the airbag panel arrangement or the dashboard and the vehicle seat or an occupant seated in the vehicle seat; determines that the distance exceeds a predeterminable maximum threshold value; determines that one or more conditions for deployment of the airbag is fulfilled; and displaces the airbag panel arrangement outwardly from the dashboard by means of a panel displacing system.
Adaptive suppression of vehicle restraint system
A vehicle has a restraint system with at least two restraint devices. A sensor detects a potential collision object and outputs a signal representing a relative position of the potential collision object to the vehicle. A processing device suppresses deployment of at least one of the restraint devices based at least in part on the signal output by the at least one sensor.
Interlocking vehicle airbags
Aspects of the disclosure relate to airbag systems for vehicles having interlocking airbags. An example airbag system may include a first airbag having a first shape and a second airbag having a second shape. The first shape and the second shape are configured to interlock with one another in order to reduce the likelihood of an object passing between the first airbag and the second airbag when the first and second airbags are inflated. In addition, the first airbag and second airbag are arranged to deploy on an exterior of the vehicle. An airbag system can also include one or more processors configured to determine that an impact with an object is likely to occur within a predetermined period of time. These processors can also use the determination to send a first signal to deploy the first airbag and a second signal to deploy the second airbag.
High voltage shut down system and method for electric vehicle
A high voltage shut down system and method for an electric vehicle are provided, which perform a high voltage shut down function in connection with a collision detection signal (airbag expansion signal) generated from an airbag controller even when a vehicle is being charged. The high voltage shut down system a third power supply controller which is in an operable state for transmitting power when the vehicle starts and is charged. An airbag control unit is operated by receiving power through the third power supply controller, and is configured to generate an airbag expansion signal when detecting an occurrence of a collision of the vehicle. A high voltage controller is configured to perform a high voltage shut down function in response to receiving the airbag expansion signal.
MONITORING DEVICE FOR AT LEAST ONE IGNITION CIRCUIT FOR A PERSONAL PROTECTION MEANS FOR A VEHICLE, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A MONITORING DEVICE
A monitoring device for an ignition circuit for a personal protection device for a vehicle. The ignition circuit activates the personal protection device when an ignition voltage is present that exceeds a voltage threshold value and/or an ignition current is present that exceeds a current threshold value. The monitoring device has a control device and a voltage source connected via a voltage source terminal of the control device. The control device is connected via a high-side ignition circuit terminal to a first supply terminal of the ignition circuit and via a low-side ignition circuit terminal to a second supply terminal of the ignition circuit. The monitoring device is fashioned such that a no-load voltage of a high-side current source of the control device situated between the voltage source terminal and the high-side ignition circuit terminal corresponds at least to the voltage threshold value.
