Apparatus and method for floor-mounted passenger lower leg protection
An apparatus for helping to protect occupants of a vehicle in the event of a collision includes a deployable restraint having a stored, predeployment condition in a vehicle floor. The restraint is deployable from the floor to restrain the feet and/or lower legs of an occupant from swinging forward and upward in response to a vehicle collision. In one configuration, the deployable restraint can include a module comprising an airbag and an inflator for inflating and deploying the airbag. The module can include a door that opens in response to deployment of the airbag and that serves as a reaction surface for the airbag. In another configuration, the deployable restraint can include a restraining panel configured to move to a deployed position extending above the vehicle floor adjacent the occupants lower leg and feet.
OCCUPANT PROTECTION SYSTEMS FOR A VEHICLE SEAT
A seat assembly having an occupant protection system. The occupant protection system may have a deployable shield. The deployable shield may extend around multiple sides of the seat assembly may extend at least partially around a front of a seat occupant when deployed, may be deployable along a dynamic deployment path based on a detected position of a seat occupant, or combinations thereof.
Vehicle seat partitioning system and vehicle comprising a vehicle seat partitioning system
A vehicle seat partitioning system includes a partition structure attached to a first and a second backrest structure of a vehicle seat unit. The first and/or second backrest structure are arranged to be foldable between raised and lowered positions in relation to a common seating structure. The partition structure has a first and a second side edge, the first side edge connected to the first backrest structure and the second side edge connected to the second backrest structure. The system further includes a first track unit arranged on the first backrest structure and/or a second track unit arranged on the second backrest structure. The first side edge has a first connection member connected to and movably arranged in relation to the first track unit and/or the second side edge has a second connection member connected to and movably arranged in relation to the second track unit.
Occupant protection system
In severe traffic accidents, crumpling the front of the car causes the passenger's leg get stuck between the seat and the car's dashboard. In this article, the condition of the seat and occupant safety sack is checked, which keeps the passenger in place, in heavy crashes, then raises the occupant's knee, and pulls the front seats back as far as possible.
VEHICLE SEAT AND VEHICLE
A vehicle seat, which is provided in a vehicle equipped with a head portion protecting airbag that protects a head portion of a vehicle occupant at a time of a side collision, includes: a head portion restraining portion that is provided at an upper portion side of a seatback so as to be able to tilt rearward from an upright state, and that restrains a head portion of a vehicle occupant, wherein, when the seatback is tilted rearward beyond a predetermined angle with respect to a vertical direction, the head portion of the vehicle occupant can be protected due to at least a side portion that is at a vehicle transverse direction outer side of the head portion restraining portion covering a side of the head portion of the vehicle occupant.
Airbag assembly
An airbag assembly includes a plurality of pipes each having a distal end. The pipes are inflatable to an inflated position in which the distal ends are positioned in a circular configuration. The airbag assembly includes a plurality of interconnecting panels in alternating arrangement with the plurality of pipes. Each interconnecting panel is fixed to adjacent ones of the plurality of pipes. The airbag assembly includes an uninflatable panel fixed to the distal ends of the plurality of pipes.
Arm rest
An arm rest attachable to a seat for a vehicle occupant to sit on includes side members, a front member, and a rear member. The side members include a pair of side members provided at left and right sides of the vehicle occupant and extending in a front-rear direction. The front member is in front of the vehicle occupant when the vehicle occupant is seated and is configured to couple front sides of the left and right side members to each other at least when in use. The rear member couples the seat to rear sides of the side members. The side members and the front member are rotatable about a line that connects left and right coupled points between the rear member and the seat.
APPARATUS FOR ADAPTING A SEATBELT TO A CHILD
An apparatus for adapting an adult three-point seatbelt of a vehicle for safe and secure usage by an occupant such as a child, the seatbelt being of the ubiquitous type that comprises a tensioned belt wound on a drum that extends from above shoulder height of an adult occupant of a seat, to an anchor point connected to chassis of vehicle, and a clasp attached to the chassis on an opposite side of an occupant of the seat from the anchor point, such that the belt may be drawn downwards and across an occupant to engage the clasp, thereby restraining the occupant with both a sash section and a lap section of the seatbelt.
The apparatus comprises a guide for the sash section of the seat belt that is fixed to a seat and sideways adjustable with respect to the occupant sitting on the seat, the sash guide for engaging the sash section above a shoulder of the occupant at a sideways position to ensure that said sash section runs over shoulder of the occupant in an optimal position for both comfort and safety. Different embodiments are directed to a guide attached to the seat of the vehicle itself, retrofittable to a head rest and attached to various child seats such as booster seats that themselves sit on the vehicle seat.
Sound-insulation shock-absorbing ABS resin composition for automotive interiors and application thereof
The present invention relates to a sound-insulation shock-absorbing heat-resistant ABS resin composition for automotive interiors and a preparing method thereof. The resin composition comprises: 100 parts of ABS resin, 5-30 parts of heat-resisting agent, 5-20 parts of sound-insulation shock-absorbing polymer, 1-5 parts of hollow glass microspheres, 0.3-1.0 part of light stabilizer and 0.5-2.0 parts of auxiliary. The preparing method comprises the following steps: mixing the raw materials in a high-speed mixer, sending the mixture into a twin screw extruder via a metering device, melting and compounding the material under the delivering, shearing and mixing by screws; and performing extrusion, drawing, cooling and granulating. The method is simple and feasible; and the prepared resin composition has excellent sound-insulation and shock-absorbing effects and favorable mechanical properties, and is able to be applied in the field of automotive interiors.
