Control system
A system includes a body structure that defines a cabin, a seat assembly that is located in the cabin, and a support structure that includes a top portion and an adjustable support assembly. The support structure is located adjacent to the seat assembly, the adjustable support assembly includes actuators, and the adjustable support assembly is configured to move the top portion with respect to the seat assembly. The system also includes sensors that are configured to generate sensor outputs regarding an environment outside of the system, and a controller that detects an event based on the sensor outputs. In response to the detection of the event, the controller outputs a control signal that controls the adjustable support assembly so that the adjustable support assembly moves at least part of the top portion away from the seat assembly.

Protective padding (1) for a bar (10) of a rollcage (100) of a vehicle (200) comprising a honeycomb cellular structure (2), a base sheet layer (4), an outer sheet layer (11), and connecting means (3) configured to connect the honeycomb cellular structure (2) to said bar (10); wherein said honeycomb cellular structure (2) comprises a plurality of interconnected open cells (8) having longitudinal axes (L) arranged so that, when the honeycomb cellular structure (2) is connected to the bar (10), part of said longitudinal axes (L) are oriented outwardly with respect to the bar (10) and towards the interior of the rollcage (100); said open cells (8) being configured to absorb energy by plastic deformation in response to a compressive load compressing the honeycomb cellular structure (2) against the bar (10); wherein the base sheet layer (4) is attached to a base face (15) of the honeycomb cellular structure (2) facing the outer surface (13) of the bar (10) and the outer sheet layer (11) is attached to a top face (16) of the honeycomb cellular structure (2) that is opposite to the base face (15).

Apparatus for covering an edge of a rigid structure
A cushion apparatus for attachment to a rigid structure having an edge includes an elongated structure and a securing mechanism. The elongated structure is formed of a soft material and has a channel/slot/groove along its length that is configured to receive a portion of the rigid structure that includes the edge. The securing mechanism is configured to secure the elongated structure to the rigid structure. The securing mechanism may be integrated with the elongated structure and configured to removably secure the elongated structure to the rigid structure.
Occupant protection system for a vehicle seat
A seat assembly having an occupant protection system. The occupant protection system may have a deployable shield. The deployable shield may extend around multiple sides of the seat assembly, may extend at least partially around a front of a seat occupant when deployed, may be deployable along a dynamic deployment path based on a detected position of a seat occupant, or combinations thereof.

Apparatus and method for securing a glove box lid in a closed position
An apparatus includes a stop carried on a glove box lid and a lever including an abutment, a catch and a fulcrum. The lever is displaceable about the fulcrum between a rest position and a deployed position. In the deployed position the catch engages the stop preventing the glove box lid from opening. A method of securing the glove box lid in a closed position in the event of an impact to a motor vehicle is also provided.
INSTRUMENT PANEL
An instrument panel includes an instrument panel body fixed to a vehicle body, and a cover that covers a space of the instrument panel body from a rear in a front-rear direction of a vehicle and faces an occupant in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. The instrument panel body includes a harness holder configured to hold a wire harness arranged in a vehicle width direction. The harness holder extends along the vehicle width direction in the space of the instrument panel body, and includes a fragile portion provided in at least one position in a longitudinal direction of the harness holder. A sectional area of the fragile portion is smaller than a sectional area of the other portion of the harness holder.
LATERAL SHOCK ABSORBER
A lateral shock absorber includes a protective fender pivoted to a base of a child car safety seat and a locking mechanism disposed on the base. The protective fender is pivotally switchable between a folded state or an unfolded state. The locking mechanism is for selectively engaging with the protective fender to restrain the protective fender from switching to the unfolded state or disengaging from the protective fender to allow the protective fender to switch to the unfolded state when the protective fender is located in the folded state. The locking mechanism includes a locking assembly, an abutting component and an abutting block connected to the abutting component. The locking assembly engages with the protective fender to restrain the protective fender from moving, and the abutting component is driven by the abutting block to disengage the locking assembly from the protective fender when the abutting block is pressed downwardly.
LATERAL SHOCK ABSORBER
A lateral shock absorber includes a protective fender pivoted to a base of a child car safety seat and a locking mechanism disposed on the base. The protective fender is pivotally switchable between a folded state or an unfolded state. The locking mechanism is for selectively engaging with the protective fender to restrain the protective fender from switching to the unfolded state or disengaging from the protective fender to allow the protective fender to switch to the unfolded state when the protective fender is located in the folded state. The locking mechanism includes a locking assembly, an abutting component and an abutting block connected to the abutting component. The locking assembly engages with the protective fender to restrain the protective fender from moving, and the abutting component is driven by the abutting block to disengage the locking assembly from the protective fender when the abutting block is pressed downwardly.
