Lateral retention member
A motor vehicle includes a frame, a first pair of wheels connected to the frame, a second pair of wheels connected to the frame, a motor supported by the frame and operatively connected to at least one of the pair of wheels, a cockpit in the frame, a first seat disposed in the cockpit, a bed in the frame longitudinally rearward of the cockpit, the bed having at least one side wall, a second seat disposed in the bed, the second seat having a seat base and a seat back, the seat back being foldable between a storage position and a seating position, and a lateral retention member fixed to the at least one side wall of the bed, at least a portion of the lateral retention member being disposed higher than the seat base and forward of the seat back of the second seat when in the seating position.
Occupant protection device
The occupant protection device comprising: a base portion fixed to a ceiling portion of the vehicle; an operation portion connected to the base portion via a hinge and configured to move back and forth between a first position serving as an initial position and a second position used to suppress movement of the occupant when inertial force acts on the occupant, the operation portion configured to align with the ceiling portion at the first position; and a control unit. The operation portion is movable repeatedly from the first position to the second position through the movement control by returning to the first position after having moved from the first position to the second position. The occupant protection device further includes a buffering means configured to buffer a collision impact on the occupant against the operation portion when the operation portion moves to the second position.
Moveable internal shock-absorbing energy dissipation padding in an autonomous vehicle
Described herein is utilization of nontransparent Shock-Absorbing Energy Dissipation Padding (SAEDP) in an autonomous on-road vehicle. In one embodiment, the vehicle includes a side window located at eye level of an occupant who sits in the vehicle. The side window enables the occupant to see the outside environment. A motor is configured to move the SAEDP over a sliding mechanism between first and second states. A processor is configured to command the motor to move the SAEDP from the first state to the second state responsive to an indication that a probability of an imminent collision reaches a threshold. In the first state, the SAEDP does not block the occupant's eye level view to the outside environment, and in the second state, the SAEDP blocks the occupant's eye level view to the outside environment in order to protect the occupant's head against hitting the side window during collision.
Automobile seat divider—the backseat buddy
A divider configured to be secured in the seats of automobiles for forming a physical barrier between passengers is disclosed herein. The divider can be used for children, pets, or adults. A rectangular prism shaped booster may be provided below the divider for raising the height of the divider. The profile of the divider is designed to fit securely against the back of a seat and the bottom of the seat. The curved front side of the divider allows the driver to view all passengers, maintain views out the windows, and still be an effective barrier without being so large as to be in the way. A notch is provided in the curved front side of the divider for receiving a seat belt or strap for securing the divider. The divider and the booster may have removable covers with pockets for holding items, such as water bottles, tissues, and wipes.

SCRATCH RESISTANT LAYER OF ULTRA-THIN GLASS ON A SUBSTRATE FOR TOUCH SENSITIVE DISPLAY
A cover for a touchscreen user interface of an inflight entertainment display. The cover includes a protective outer element having an external surface in which the surface comprises a layer of ultra-thin glass. The ultra-thin glass includes an inner surface and an opposing outer surface defining a thickness therebetween in a range of 0.02-0.15 mm. A protective inner element is disposed on the inner surface of the ultra-thin glass in which the protective inner element comprises a plastic. The cover is for use in covering a display element of a monitor.
Work Vehicle
A work vehicle includes an occupant space configured to accommodate an occupant; an arch-shaped frame extending over the occupant space and including a lateral frame portion extending laterally relative to a body of the work vehicle; a left vertical frame portion extending downward from a left end portion of the lateral frame portion; and a right vertical frame portion extending downward from a right end portion of the lateral frame portion; a handrail usable by an occupant on a back seat and including: a first section extending laterally relative to the body; a second section extending forward from a left end portion of the first section; and a third section extending forward from a right end portion of the first section, the second section being coupled to the left vertical frame portion, the third section being coupled to the right vertical frame portion.
Vehicle shields and supports
An example of an apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a mount to secure in a vehicle. The mount includes a first lip to insert into a first gap and a first surface to brace against a first wall. The apparatus further includes an additional mount to secure in the vehicle. The additional mount includes a second lip to insert into a second gap and a second surface to brace against a second wall. The second gap is opposite the first gap and the second wall is opposite the first wall. Furthermore, the apparatus includes a support member supported by the mounts at each end.
