System and method for collision prevention
A vehicle frontal illumination system includes a bracket attached to a front of a vehicle, where the bracket includes a light receiving surface that faces the front of the vehicle. The system also includes one or more lights attached to the light receiving surface of the bracket such that the one or more lights face the front of the vehicle. The system further includes a control system in communication with the light, where the control system is configured to turn the one or more lights on to illuminate the front of the vehicle to reduce the likelihood of an animal vehicle collision.

The guide member is attached to an instrument panel reinforcement. The guide member has a tilted surface tilted downward toward a rear of the vehicle. The pedal bracket is attached to a dash panel. The pedal bracket has a guided portion that is guided by the tilted surface when the load is applied from the front of the vehicle. The guided portion has a brittle portion.

A pedal assembly, including an upper housing and a lower housing with an upper surface positioned below the upper housing. A receiving cavity is positioned in the lower housing, with at least a portion positioned below the upper surface in the pedal assembly vertical direction. A pedal arm having a pivot end and an opposite pedal pad, pivotally coupled to the upper housing at the pivot end. The pedal arm is movable between a stowed position and a use position, wherein in the stowed position, the pedal pad is positioned in the receiving cavity and below the upper surface in the pedal assembly vertical direction such that access to the pedal pad is prohibited. In the use position, the pedal pad is positioned above the receiving cavity and the upper surface in the pedal assembly vertical direction such that access to the pedal pad is permitted.

A vehicle pedal arrangement according to one embodiment includes a support, a rotating shaft, a pedal that is pivotable with respect to the rotating shaft, a retention member and actuating means. The pedal includes a retaining housing and an opening, such that under normal operating conditions the rotating shaft is arranged in the opening and the retention member is at least partially housed in the retaining housing supported against the rotating shaft, retaining the rotating shaft in the opening. In the event of a head-on collision, the actuating means moves the retention member such that the pedal is no longer retained against the rotating shaft.

The method also includes verifying the installation of the pin, positioning a second portion of the testing device against a second side of the pin, and verifying the proper installation of the pin.
