Systems and methods described herein provide a safety system for use within an interior of a vehicle. The Safety System described herein may include a protection panel coupled to a support for a slider style protection interface.
Partition providing increased legroom
A partition for separating front and rear occupant areas of a vehicle comprises a frame and multiple panel sections. The frame is for attachment to the vehicle and has a first lateral member, respective angled side tubular members and a window. The multiple panel sections are configured to fit vertically between the window and a floor and horizontally between first and second sides. The multiple panel sections comprise a first panel section for positioning adjacent the first side, a second panel section for positioning adjacent the second side and a center section laterally adjacent and separating the first and second panel members. The center section protrudes rearwardly relative to the first panel section and the second panel section. The second panel section is recessed forwardly of the first panel section and forwardly of the center section to increase space available in a rear seat aligned with the second panel section.
Partition providing increased legroom
A partition for separating front and rear occupant areas of a vehicle comprises a frame and multiple panel sections. The multiple panel sections are configured to fit vertically between the window and a floor and horizontally between first and second sides. The multiple panel sections comprise a first panel section for positioning adjacent the first side, a second panel section for positioning adjacent the second side and a center section laterally adjacent and separating the first and second panel members. The center section protrudes rearwardly relative to the first panel section and the second panel section. The second panel section is recessed forwardly of the first panel section and forwardly of the center section to increase space available in a rear seat aligned with the second panel section.
Patrol vehicle and personal protection system
A patrol vehicle protection system with a quick release bullet resistant transparent panel and door panel covering system that requires no permanent modifications to the patrol vehicle, offers head impact safety protection, and ventilation. The system includes a bullet resistant transparent panel that temporarily attaches to a door window opening mounting mechanism attached to the vehicle door. The mounting mechanism includes z-shaped upper and lower brackets designed to fit into the upper and lower slots formed around the window opening. An adjustment plate or brace holds the brackets in place in the slots. The transparent panel is securely held between the two brackets during normal use but automatically releases outward in a side impact collision. The system also includes a ballistic fabric panel that hangs from the lower bracket over the inside surface of the door panel to protect the driver's legs and lower torso of the driver sitting in the patrol vehicle.
Air belt device
An air belt device is provided with a webbing that is fitted around a vehicle occupant who is sitting in a vehicle seat, and an airbag portion that is provided in parallel with the webbing and is inflated and deployed when gas is supplied to an interior thereof. The airbag is provided with a reference portion that forms a portion of the airbag and is formed as a result of the airbag being folded. The airbag is also provided with a slack portion that forms another portion of the airbag and is formed as a result of the airbag being folded, and that extends in parallel with the reference portion and whose dimension in the transverse direction of the webbing is set longer than a dimension in the transverse direction of the webbing of the reference portion.
360 degree intrusion detection and warning system
Embodiments for use of an apparatus and method for alerting an occupant within a vehicle are provided. An apparatus may include a lidar unit configured to detect an oncoming intruder approaching a stationary vehicle. The lidar unit is mounted to an external surface of the stationary vehicle or coupled to an emergency vehicle warning device. An alarm is sounded or warning lights are triggered when the oncoming intruder approaches within a zone surrounding the vehicle. A method may include providing a controller unit and a lidar unit configured to detect the motion of any oncoming person, animal, or object approaching a stationary vehicle. The lidar unit rotates to scan the region surrounding the stationary vehicle and provides detection data. Upon detecting an oncoming intruder, the detection data is transmitted to the controller unit within the vehicle, and an alarm may be sounded to warn an occupant located within the vehicle.

RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A restraint system for restraining a lower body portion of an individual within a seat including a rigid member configured to selectively restrain the lower body portion such that the lower body portion of the individual is movable only within a predefined area of movement. The rigid member is mounted to the seat and is capable of movement between a stowed position and a deployed position. The lower body portion is restrained by the rigid member when in the deployed position. A locking mechanism locks the rigid member in the stowed position and the deployed position. A release mechanism is associated with the locking mechanism. The release mechanism is located at a predetermined distance from the locking mechanism such that the release mechanism is located outside of the area of movement.
RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A restraint system for restraining a lower body portion of an individual within a seat including a rigid member configured to selectively restrain the lower body portion such that the lower body portion of the individual is movable only within a predefined area of movement. The rigid member is mounted to the seat and is capable of movement between a stowed position and a deployed position. The lower body portion is restrained by the rigid member when in the deployed position. A locking mechanism locks the rigid member in the stowed position and the deployed position. A release mechanism is associated with the locking mechanism. The release mechanism is located at a predetermined distance from the locking mechanism such that the release mechanism is located outside of the area of movement.
