Bus safety shield
A protective shield assembly for use on a bus is disclosed. The assembly includes a first fastener affixed to the luggage rack of the bus, a second fastener affixed to a rear surface of the backrest of the seats of a row of the bus, and a body extending between the luggage rack and the seats to form a barrier between adjacent rows. The body includes an upper end having a third fastener and a lower end having a lower edge, a cut-out, a fourth fastener, and a furled portion. The third fastener is attached to the first fastener and the fourth fastener is attached to the second fastener fixing the body in position. The cut-out divides the furled portion into a left portion and a right portion that selectively and independently uncurl as the body is pulled toward a planar configuration when one of the seats is reclined.

DRIVER BARRIER
An apparatus and methods for a driver barrier to isolate public transit vehicle operators, such as bus drivers or coach operators, from passenger seating areas. The driver side barrier includes a driver side barrier mounted behind a driver cockpit and a door coupled with the driver side barrier. In a closed configuration, the driver side barrier and door provide a barrier between the driver cockpit and a passenger seating area of the vehicle. The door may be rotated forward to provide a protective shield around the driver cockpit while allowing passengers to enter and exit the passenger seating area. In some embodiments, the door may be extended across an aisle of the passenger seating area to a curbside barrier, thereby partitioning the driver cockpit and passenger seating areas. When not in use, the door may be stowed behind the driver cockpit.

BULLET-PROOF PROTECTIVE COVERING FOR A BABY CAR SEAT
A method and an apparatus/assembly provides enhanced protection to a baby in a child safety car seat. A bullet-proof child seat apparatus (BCSA) having a central segment that includes a seat portion and a backrest portion with a shapeable and adjustable headrest is constructed using bullet-proof covering that includes a protective blanket. Adjacent to the central segment are shapeable first and second side segments, each having a collar portion at an upper end and a side panel portion extending downward and away from the collar portion. The BCSA protects a baby fastened in place within the central segment by an enclosing bullet-proof blanket moldable around a baby’s face, an outer bullet-proof material and/or a structure/chassis having a bullet-proof composition. The covering and structure provides complete protection from side to side while side segments can be pulled inward to provide added protection from a frontal direction and particularly to the head and face of a baby whose body is protected in the front by firmly extended flaps of the blanket. The BCSA also includes an infant risk tracking and reporting (IRTR) module that provides further protection by using sensors to track and report a baby’s presence and surrounding environment.
