The invention relates to a seatbelt device for a motor vehicle, comprising: a diagonal belt portion and a lap belt portion, each of which is connected to a seatbelt retractor that can be fixedly secured to the vehicle, a seatbelt buckle that can de fixedly secured to the vehicle, and a seatbelt tongue that can be locked to the seatbelt buckle. One end of the lap belt portion is secured to the seatbelt tongue, and one end of the diagonal belt portion is secured to a fitting, the fitting being rotatably connected to the seatbelt tongue. At least one sensor is provided and designed to detect the rotational angular position of the fitting with respect to the seatbelt tongue and/or the seatbelt buckle. The invention further relates to a corresponding method.

The guiding ring member is detachably disposed on the cover, and has a guiding ring and a positioning element connected to the guiding ring. The webbing is inserted through the guiding ring. The cover is detachably hung on the guiding ring. The webbing adjustment device can lock the webbing automatically by the tension of the webbing.

An occupant restraint device for a vehicle includes a three-point seatbelt device, a shoulder cover, an attachment portion, and a hard pad provided inside the shoulder cover. The three-point seatbelt device includes a shoulder belt that extends from an upper portion at a seat width direction one end side of a seat back toward a buckle at a lower portion at the seat width direction other end side. The shoulder cover is provided at the upper portion at the seat width direction one end side of the seat back. The shoulder belt is inserted through the shoulder cover, and the shoulder cover is arranged along a restrained surface of the vehicle occupant sitting on a vehicle seat. At the attachment portion, a side of the shoulder cover at which a terminal portion thereof is disposed is attached to the upper portion at the seat width direction one end side of the seat back so as to be relatively movable in an up-and-down direction with respect to the upper portion. The hard pad is disposed between the vehicle occupant sitting on the vehicle seat and the shoulder belt in a region opposing a collarbone of the vehicle occupant.

A seatbelt tether includes a tensioning mechanism, a tether ring and a connecting portion that extends from the tether ring to the tensioning mechanism. The connecting portion extends through the tether passageway with the tether ring located at the upper section outside the seatback portion. The tether ring is shaped and dimension to slide-ably receive a seatbelt. The tensioning mechanism selectively applies tension to the tether ring. In a non-tensioned state the tether ring is movable to an upper outboard side of the seatback portion. In a tensioned state the tether ring is pulled toward a headrest supporting section of the seatback portion inboard and away from the upper outboard side of the seatback portion.
