Aspects of the disclosure relate to reducing the likelihood of injury to a passenger in a collision. In one example, a system for reducing the likelihood of a passenger submarining, may include a restraining device for restraining the passenger. A second restraining device for further restraining the passenger may also be included in the system. A locking mechanism may be configured to prevent a seat back from reclining when the second restraining device is not activated.

Advanced four-point seat belt and vehicle including the same

An advanced four-point seat belt may include: a three-point seat belt to diagonally hold a passenger with a webbing; and a motorized seat belt to allow a tongue of the webbing to maintain a state of being fixed to a side surface of a seat cushion to an initial position. In particular, when a vehicle collision situation is recognized, the motorized seat belt forms an “X” shape webbing confinement state by withdrawing the webbing and another webbing to locate the tongue at a central position of a body of the passenger.

RESTRAINT SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE SEAT OPERATIVELY MOUNTED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE

A restraint system for a vehicle seat operatively mounted in a motor vehicle may include a restraint web operatively coupled to at least one of the vehicle seat and the motor vehicle, an elongated sleeve received on and at least partially about the restraint web, and a sleeve position adjuster coupled to the sleeve and including an actuator normally engaging a portion of the restraint web to fix a position of the sleeve relative to the restraint web and responsive to actuation thereof to disengage from the restraint web to allow the sleeve to be moved along the restraint web.

HARNESS SYSTEM WITH A BUCKLE RESTRAINING FUNCTION

A harness system is provided and includes an upper buckle, an upper strap and a restraining assembly. The upper strap includes shoulder portion and a waist portion divided by the upper buckle. A through slot is formed on the upper buckle. The restraining assembly includes an anti-sliding structure, a beam structure disposed on the upper buckle and a stopping component. The through slot includes a first portion and a second portion divided by the beam structure and respectively adjacent to the shoulder portion and the waist portion. The upper strap passes through the first portion of the through slot from bottom to top and passes through the second portion of the through slot from top to bottom. The stopping component is detachably disposed on the shoulder portion and configured to abut against the upper buckle for restraining a sliding movement of the upper buckle relative to the upper strap.

Restraint system for a vehicle seat operatively mounted in a motor vehicle

An occupant restraint system for a vehicle seat operatively mounted in a motor vehicle may include a restraint web operatively coupled to at least one of the vehicle seat and the motor vehicle, an elongated sleeve received on and at least partially about the restraint web, and a sleeve position adjuster coupled to the sleeve and including an actuator normally engaging a portion of the restraint web to fix a position of the sleeve relative to the restraint web and responsive to actuation thereof to disengage from the restraint web to allow the sleeve to be moved along the restraint web.

MULTI-POINT RESTRAINT SYSTEM FOR AN OCCUPANT SEAT MOUNTED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE

A motor vehicle, seat and multi-point restraint system combination may include one or a combination of means for selectively preventing forward pivoting of the seat, one or more web attenuators for dampen forces applied thereby by one or more respective shoulder webs of the multi-point restraint system, at least one sleeve received on at least one shoulder web and a corresponding sleeve adjuster for adjusting a position of the sleeve along the respective shoulder web, web retractors operatively coupled to each of a pair of lap webs and to each of a pair of thigh webs of the multi-point restraint system, and at least one web retractor operatively coupled to the shoulder webs of the multi-point restraint system.

SEATBELT SYSTEM WITH INFLATABLE CUSHIONS

Vehicle safety systems comprising seatbelts and inflatable cushions deployable therefrom. Some embodiments comprise a first vertical seatbelt having a first inflatable cushion coupled thereto and a second vertical seatbelt having a second inflatable cushion coupled thereto. The first inflatable cushion and the second inflatable cushion may be configured to inflate at an at least substantially static location relative to an adjacent seat and may be configured to deploy adjacent to an occupant's chest and to inhibit movement of an occupant's head during an impact event. The system may further comprise a horizontal seatbelt coupled with one or both of the first vertical seatbelt and the second vertical seatbelt.

HARNESS SYSTEM WITH A BUCKLE RESTRAINING FUNCTION

A harness system includes an upper buckle, an upper strap and a restraining assembly including an anti-sliding structure and a beam structure. A through slot is formed on the upper buckle. The upper strap passes through the through slot. The beam structure is slidably disposed on the upper buckle. The anti-sliding structure is disposed on at least one of the beam structure and a wall of the through slot. The upper strap is engaged by the anti-sliding structure for restraining a sliding movement of the upper buckle relative to the upper strap and toward a shoulder portion when the upper strap is forced to drive the beam structure to slide relative to the upper buckle and toward the wall of the through slot.
