A system for securing a restraint system includes a retractor enclosing a spool, a sensor coupled to the spool, and a motor coupled to the spool and configured to rotate the spool about a spool rotation axis. The system also includes webbing configured to be wound and unwound from around the spool. An automatic locking retractor mode is enabled and disabled to selectively and automatically lock the retractor to prevent rotation of the spool when a predetermined length of the webbing is unwound from the spool.

A vehicle body includes a pillar member disposed on an outer side of a cabin in a vehicle width direction and a side wall member located closer to inside in the vehicle width direction than the pillar member and coupled to the pillar member. The guide member for guiding drawing of a webbing includes a front edge fixing portion coupled to the pillar member, a rear edge fixing portion coupled to the side wall member, and a guide body whose two ends are coupled to the front and rear edge fixing portions and which forms a webbing drawing opening together with the pillar member and the side wall member. The front and rear edge fixing portions are separated from each other with an interval greater than or equal to a width of the webbing and coupled to the pillar member and the side wall member.

A belt retractor having a device for sensing the extension length of a safety belt, wherein: the belt retractor has a frame which can be fastened fixedly to the vehicle and a belt shaft mounted rotatably in the frame, on which belt shaft the safety belt can be wound, and the device for sensing the extension length has a first rotary encoder and a first rotational angle sensor, and, a reduction gear unit is provided which reduces the rotation of the belt shaft to a rotation of the first rotary encoder with a lower speed, and a second rotary encoder and a second rotational angle sensor are provided, and the second rotary encoder is driven by the belt shaft at a speed greater than the speed of the first rotary encoder.

Extendable arm assembly

An extendable arm assembly includes an extendable arm structure defining a first axis, a second axis perpendicular to the first axis, and a third axis perpendicular to the first axis and the second axis. The extendable arm structure is configured to be actuated between a stowed configuration and an extended configuration in which the extendable arm structure extends along the first axis. The extendable arm structure includes a main body having a plurality of recesses and a plurality of hinge portions, and a first bladder disposed on the main body delimiting the recesses formed in the main body. The extendable arm assembly is configured to apply vacuum to the recesses to fold the main body along the hinge portions.
