Exercise apparatus
An exercise apparatus (10) has two wheels (12, 12′) rotatably mounted to a base (14, 14′), spaced apart and each located within a pair of wheel housings (15, 15′), respectively. Pivotably connected to each wheel is a cam (16). Another end of the cam (16) is pivotably connected to a push rod (17) which is pivotably connected to a handle (18) which is rotatably mounted in a housing (20). The pair of handle housings (20) are pivotably and respectively mounted to the pair of cams (16) such that movement of each arm in a vertical plane up or down by operating on the respective handle causes an elliptical rotation of the respective cam relative to the respective wheel (12, 12′).
ARM CHAIR EXERCISE APPARATUS
A chair arm exercise apparatus includes three distinct back positions with hand resistance members such as springs supported from a pair of supports spaced from the upper end of the back. The arm chair includes a base configured to rest on a horizontal floor surface, a seat, a pair of spaced apart trapezoidal shaped upright frame sides, a front upright end wall beneath and supporting a front end of the seat, a seat back pivotally supported from the frame sides behind the seat, and a seat cross member beneath the rear edge of the seat fastened to the frame sides. In a first position the back is at about 90 degrees to the seat. In a second position the back is about 80 degrees to the seat. In the third position the back is reclined.
Fitness bar with motion internal weights
A fitness bar can house free-moving weights. The movement and speed of the weights can be controlled by a flow impeder.
Exercise device
The invention relates to a device (100) for performing exercises, comprising a housing (105), a deviation sensor (140) for detecting a deviation of said housing (105) from an equilibrium, and a control unit (110) coupled to said deviation sensor (140) arranged to count deviations from the equilibrium.
Electrorheological fluid and electric device
An electrorheological fluid which comprises a dispersion medium containing fluorine atoms in an amount larger than 0 wt % but not larger than 50.0 wt % and particles for electrorheological fluid use that are contained in the dispersion medium in an amount of 10-50 vol % of the total volume of the dispersion medium and the particles, the particles comprising a sulfonic-acid-group-containing polymer having a sulfonic acid group content of 30-70 wt %.
EXERCISE MACHINE AND CROSS TRAINER
The present invention is directed, in part, to a system and methods for combining newly designed cardiovascular equipment with the added features of an upper body weight training regimen in order to provide a user a full body workout, cardiovascular exercise and weight training simultaneously. The invention does so by employing either a weight tray apparatus configured to newly designed cardiovascular equipment or machine or through the use of an adjustable weight training apparatus combined with the newly designed cardiovascular equipment or machine. More specifically, the present invention relates to a system and methods for combining newly designed cardiovascular equipment including stationary and recumbent bikes, elliptical machines, treadmills and stair steppers, with a tray apparatus that allows a user to employ free weights. The invention further relates to a system and methods for combining newly designed cardiovascular equipment including stationary and recumbent bikes, elliptical machines, treadmills and stair steppers that are configured with an adjustable weight training apparatus that allows a user to build upper body muscle groups simultaneously with cardiovascular exercise, in effect, providing a full body workout.
Apparatus and method for optimizing a person's muscle group performance thru modulating active muscle groups exertion rate and oxygen quantum
A system and method for optimizing a person's muscle group performance thru modulating the arm, leg, and core muscle exertion rate based upon the exerciser's metabolic and geographic data. The system uses real-time measurement gathering and storing of physiologic parameters from humans during physical exercise activity and the geographic data of the exercise activity to determine information for optimizing the exerciser's physical exercise performance of the basic working muscle groups in the rider's arms, legs, and core. The system broadcasts to exercisers information including, but are not limited to: a) the current condition of their monitored muscle tissue, b) which muscle groups the riders should modulate and change their level of energy output during the exercise activity, and c) level of energy exertion at which riders should be employing at that moment in the relevant working muscle groups to optimize their physical exercise performance.
Systems and methods for providing varying resistance in exercise equipment through loop drive mechanism
A system for providing resistance in an exercise machine. The system includes a motor, at least one loop drive attached to the motor. A carriage is coupled to the loop drive. The carriage moves in a first direction when the motor is turned in a first direction and a second direction when the motor is turned in a second direction. At least one sensor is attached to the carriage, wherein the at least one sensor is configured to detect external force on the carriage. Information from the sensor indicates external force on the carriage. The information is used to determine a movement of the carriage in response to the external force. The motor is instructed to turn the loop drive to apply the movement.
Adaptive device utilizing neuroplasticity for the rehabilitation of stroke victims
An adaptive device utilizing neuroplasticity for a rehabilitation of stroke victims. The adaptive device includes a base platform, an elongated superstructure, a first axle, at least one interchangeable handle, and a torsional-resistance mechanism. The base platform and elongated superstructure suspend the first axle in an elevated position, wherein the interchangeable handle may freely rotate coaxial to the first axle. The torsional-resistance mechanism is operatively coupled to the first axle, providing a variable resistance to the rotation of the interchangeable handle. Thus, the interchangeable handle is configured to support a repetitive pronation-supination exercise to aid in rehabilitation and physical therapy.
Upper limb rehabilitation support device
An upper limb rehabilitation support device includes a first handle that is connected with a first rotating shaft, gripped by a trainee's right hand and rotated, a second handle that is connected with a second rotating shaft, gripped by a trainee's left hand and rotated, a connecting part structured so as to connect the first rotating shaft and the second rotating shaft with each other and interlock rotations of the first handle and the second handle, and a switching part structured so as to switch directions of the rotations of the first handle and the second handle, which are interlocked by the connecting part, with respect to the other handles when one of the first handle and the second handle rotates.
