Belt deflector

The invention relates to a belt deflector with a main element (100) that can be attached to the structure of a vehicle, and with a belt support element (200) that is movable relative to the main element (100) and forms a support surface (231) or support edge for a safety belt (20) to be deflected. According to the invention, the belt deflector comprises an intermediate element (300, 400) that is deformed when the movable belt support element (200) is moved relative to the main element (100), in the direction of the intermediate element (300, 400), and because of this deformation is pressed against the safety belt (20).

Force-limiting device and seat belt system

A force-limiting device, especially for a seat belt system (10) in a vehicle, has a force transducer (20) interacting with webbing (14) for which a normal webbing path is provided. The force transducer (20) includes a webbing track (30) that in a non-force-limiting position extends in parallel to the normal webbing path and in a force-limiting position extends inclined relative to the normal webbing path so that the force transducer (20) in the force-limiting position sets a predetermined extension force (F) required to move the webbing (14) vis-à-vis the force transducer (20) in a direction of belt extension (R).

A vehicle occupant restraint system is configured to, when a vehicle speed is higher than or equal to a vehicle speed threshold, a steering angle velocity is higher than or equal to a steering angle velocity threshold set for each vehicle speed, and an estimated lateral acceleration is higher than or equal to an acceleration threshold, drive a retractor motor. The steering angle velocity threshold is as a condition to drive the retractor motor. Therefore, by setting an appropriate steering angle velocity threshold according to an amount of movement of an occupant with inertia in a vehicle width direction, the vehicle occupant restraint system is able to take up a webbing when the occupant is estimated to move with inertia by a relatively large amount in the vehicle width direction. The amount of movement with inertia varies for each vehicle speed even at the same steering angle velocity.

BELT DEFLECTOR

The invention relates to a belt deflector (10) having a main element (20) which is fastenable to a vehicle structure, and a belt contact element (30) which is movable in relation to the main element (20) and forms a belt contact face (SA30) or belt contact edge for a seat belt (40) that is to be deflected, wherein the belt deflector (10) has a deformable intermediate element (50) which, during a relative movement of the movable belt contact element (30) relative to the main element (20) in the direction of the intermediate element (50), is deformed and is pressed against the seat belt (40) by this deformation.

According to the invention, provision is made that the belt contact element (30) forms a mating clamping face (G30), and a belt strap portion (41) of the seat belt (40) is arranged between the intermediate element (50) and the mating clamping face (G30), and, during said relative movement, the intermediate element (50) presses the belt strap portion (41) onto the mating clamping face (G30).

Seat belt buckle tongue with a deflecting element

A seat belt buckle tongue (1) with a tongue body (3) extending in the direction of plug-in (2), in which a strap slot (4) is formed for the passage of a strap (5), and a deflection element (6) movably the tongue body (3), The strap (5), in an unloaded passage position of the deflection element (6), is movable through the strap slot (4), and is at least prevented from moving by the deflection element (6) in the loading position of the deflection element (6) induced by a tensile force to the strap (5). The deflection element (6) is movable from the passage position into the loading position with a constriction portion (18) along the contact surface (19) of the tongue body (3), so that the strap (5) in the loading position with a strap portion is flat in contact with both the contact surface (19) of the tongue body (3) and with the constriction portion (18) of the deflection element (6). In the loading position, the tongue body (3) engages with a region having the contact surface (19), through at least the portion of the deflection element (6).

CINCH LOCKING TONGUE FOR A VEHICLE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM

A tongue mechanism for use in an occupant restraint system also having a buckle mechanism and a webbing. The tongue mechanism includes a tongue member configured to selectively engage the buckle mechanism, a body formed over a portion of the tongue member, a slider, and a biasing member configured to laterally bias the slider. The body includes a body contact surface. The slider includes a slider contact surface and is configured to travel along a track between a first free position and a second locking position. When the slider is positioned in the first free position the tongue mechanism is free to slide along the length of the webbing, and when the slider is positioned in the second locking position a portion of the webbing is clamped between the slider contact surface and the body contact surface thereby preventing the tongue mechanism from sliding along the length of the webbing.

Seatbelt assembly

A seatbelt assembly that includes a tongue assembly having a weblock mounted to a tongue selectively securable to a buckle; a webbing extends through the weblock between a torso portion and a lap portion; and with the weblock allowing for the webbing to slide between the torso and lap portions when in an unlocked position and pivoting relative to the tongue when in a locked position to reorient the torso portion extending from the tongue.
