WEBBING TAKE-UP DEVICE
In a webbing take-up device, a base cartridge receives the pressure of gas generated by a micro gas generator (MGG), load from a piston that is moved by the pressure of the gas, and a reaction force acting on the MGG when gas has been ejected from the MGG. This enables the strength retention structure of the base cartridge with respect to the above-described pressure, load, and reaction force to be simplified.
ENERGY ABSORBING RESTRAINT WEB ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A VISUAL DEPLOYMENT INDICATOR
An energy-absorbing restraint web assembly may include a motor vehicle seat restraint web and an energy absorption web having a first length, a first end attached to the restraint web at a first location thereof and a second end, opposite the first end of the energy absorption web, attached to the restraint web at a second location thereof, the energy absorption web responsive to a transverse force applied to the restraint web between first and second ends thereof that is greater than a threshold force to elongate and absorb energy while elongating, wherein the restraint web defines a second length between the first and second locations thereof, the second length of the restraint web greater than the first length of the energy absorption web such that the overall length of the restraint web increases as the energy absorption web elongates.
Seatbelt tongue
A seatbelt tongue includes a webbing-receiving portion, a tongue portion, and a connecting portion connecting the webbing-receiving portion and the tongue portion. The connecting portion includes a lattice structure plastically deformable relative to the webbing-receiving portion and the tongue portion.
Retractor
A retractor assembly comprising a spool configured to wind and unwind the webbing, a lock base, and an energy absorbing member having a first end operatively connected to the locking base and a second end operatively connected to the spool. The energy absorbing member provides a progressive level of load resistance upon relative rotation between the spool and the locking base.
Retractor with Crushable Spool Insert
A 3-point seat belt system having a seat belt retractor (20) with a spool (32), the spool (32) having a locked mode of operation and a freewheeling mode of operation; a seat belt (411) characterized as having a known elongation rate under stress; a collapsible member (40) wrapped about a center portion of the spool (32) of the retractor (20), the member (40) having an initial diameter dl when unstressed and collapsible to a lesser diameter of d2 under stress. The method having the step of generating a retarding force on the occupant (404) in proportion to the degree by which the collapsible member (40) collapses.
Webbing take-up device
In a webbing take-up device, a base cartridge receives pressure of gas generated by an MGG, load from a piston that is moved by the pressure of the gas, and reaction force acting on the MGG when gas has been ejected from the MGG. This enables strength retention with respect to the above-described pressure, load, and reaction force to be simplified.
WEBBING TAKE-UP DEVICE
A webbing take-up device includes a spool that is rotated in a pull-out direction by a webbing being pulled out and a lock base that limits pull-out direction rotation of the spool in a vehicle emergency. The webbing take-up device also includes a wire shaped energy absorbing wire that is deformed so as to permit pull-out direction rotation of the spool at or above a force limiter load after the lock base has limited pull-out direction rotation of the spool, a winder section to which one end of the energy absorbing wire is anchored and that is rotated so as to take up the energy absorbing wire, and a wire guide and a lever that press and deform the energy absorbing wire at position offset in the axial direction of the winder section with respect to a location where the energy absorbing wire is anchored to the winder section.
WEBBING TAKE-UP DEVICE
A webbing take-up device includes a spool, a lock base that restricts pull-out direction rotation of the spool in a vehicle emergency, and a linear energy absorbing wire that deforms so as to permit pull-out direction rotation of the spool at or above a force limiter load when the lock base has restricted pull-out direction rotation of the spool. The webbing take-up device further includes a housing with which the energy absorbing wire engages along a radial direction inside face of the housing, and a winder section provided at a radial direction inside of the housing. The winder section is capable of rotating together as a unit with the spool, and takes up the energy absorbing wire by being rotated. Moreover, a wire guide and a lever are provided between the winder section and the housing. The wire guide and the lever pinch and deform the energy absorbing wire.
Seat belt retractor
A seat belt retractor includes a housing including a pair of side walls facing each other, a winding drum configured to wind up a webbing, a locking base prevented from being rotated in the pull-out direction, in an emergency of a vehicle, an impact energy absorbing member including a first end side coupled to the winding drum and a second end side coupled to the locking base, the impact energy absorbing member connecting the winding drum and the locking base so as to be integrally rotatable, in a normal state, at least one impact energy absorbing wire housed in at least one slot that is provided in the winding drum, and a stopper member configured to define an allowable amount of relative rotation between the winding drum and the locking base in a case where the impact energy absorbing member absorbs the impact energy.
WEBBING TAKE-UP DEVICE
A webbing take-up device includes a spool that takes up a webbing worn by an occupant, and that is rotated in a pull-out direction due to the webbing being pulled out, and a lock base that limits pull-out direction rotation of the spool in a vehicle emergency. The webbing take-up device further includes an energy absorbing wire that undergoes deformation so as to permit pull-out direction rotation of the spool at or above a force limiter load when the lock base has limited pull-out direction rotation of the spool, and a second force limiter mechanism that adjusts the pressing force of the energy absorbing wire according to a remaining take-up amount of the webbing on the spool.
