Seat belt retractor

In a seat belt retractor (12) for a vehicle, comprising a frame (14) in which a belt reel (10) is supported which includes a reel body (26) as wed as a first flange (32) and a second flange (34), said flanges being provided at the axial ends (28, 30) of the reel body (26) and each being arranged in a seat (22) of the frame (14), wherein the first flange (32) is rotatable relative to the reel body (26) and wherein between the first flange (32) and the reel body (26) a force limiter is provided, and at the seat (22) locking teeth (24) are provided and at the first flange (32) a toothing corresponding to the locking teeth is provided, the second flange (34) is rotatable relative to the reel body (26) and at the second flange (34) and/or at the reel body (26) interacting stops (50, 54, 58) are provided for limiting rotation of the second flange (34) relative to the reel body (26). Furthermore, the second flange (34) Includes a peripheral wall (44) which encloses the axial end (30) of the reel body (26) facing the second flange (34) in the peripheral direction.

Webbing take-up device

The present disclosure presents a webbing take-up device, which comprises: a spool; a lock section that is restricted from rotating at a time of a vehicle emergency so as to limit rotation of the spool in the pull-out direction; a force limiter mechanism that permits rotation of the spool in the pull-out direction at a force limiter load or greater when rotation of the spool in the pull-out direction with respect to the lock section is being limited; a switching member that switches a load value of the force limiter load by switching between a rotation-restricted state and a rotation-enabled state; and a mounting member that includes a switching member mounting section at which the switching member is disposed, and a restriction section that is engaged with the switching member so as to restrict displacement of the switching member disposed at the switching member mounting section.

Webbing take-up device

In a webbing take-up device, an angle from one end portion toward another end portion of a second clutch spring in a direction of winding of a coil portion from the one end portion toward the another end portion of the second clutch spring is 270. Therefore, in a case in which the one end portion of the second clutch spring is rotated toward a side of the direction of the winding of the coil portion, one end side portion of the second clutch spring is displaced so as to bulge-out toward a side opposite to a side toward which another end side portion bulges-out.

SEAT BELT RETRACTOR

A seat belt system for protecting an occupant of a vehicle, the system having seat belt webbing connected to a seat belt retractor that includes (a) a frame; (b) a spool with the seat belt webbing wound around, wherein the spool is rotatably mounted to the frame and configured to rotate in a webbing extraction direction and a webbing retraction direction; (c) an energy absorbing device for absorbing energy when the spool is rotated in the webbing extraction direction after an emergency event has occurred; and (d) a mechanism for selectively cancelling the operation of the energy absorbing device by preventing motion of the spool in the webbing extraction direction.

SEATBELT DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

A seatbelt device for a vehicle comprises a belt which restrains an occupant, a retractor which supports the belt so as to wind up one end of the belt, a frictional-force applier which is configured to apply a frictional force to the belt by contacting the belt, and an actuator to actuate the frictional-force applier so as to change the frictional force.

Buckle device

In this buckle device, when a second wind of a belt is pulled out from a spool, a load at which the belt is permitted to be pulled out is small, whereas slide resistance of the belt with respect to a slide face is large. When a first wind of the belt is then pulled out from the spool, the belt pull-out permitting load is large, whereas the slide resistance of the belt with respect to the slide face is small. This enables variation in a load at which extending of a buckle body is permitted to be suppressed.

Seatbelt tensioning assembly

A seatbelt tensioning assembly having a seatbelt, a buckle tongue and a tensioning device. The buckle tongue is configured for releasable attachment to a seatbelt buckle within the passenger compartment. The tensioning device is rigidly connected to the buckle tongue with a mid-section of the seatbelt extending through a hollow interior of the tensioning device. The hollow interior of the tensioning device has a first tensioning member disposed therein at least partially defining a seatbelt path having a serpentine shape such that in the absence of tension being applied to the seatbelt the mid-portion of the seatbelt moves through the seatbelt path with the seatbelt path defining a first overall length. With a pre-determined level of tension being applied to the seatbelt, the tensioning device is configured to shorten the seatbelt path to a second overall length smaller than the first overall length.

Restraint system

A restraint system includes a housing, a spool rotatably coupled to the housing, a pinion fixed to the spool, a rack engaged with the pinion, and a piston attached to the rack and the housing. The piston is filled with a resilient material. The resilient material may be a heterogeneous mixture of a liquid and hydrophobic, nanoporous particles.

Seat belt retractor and seat belt apparatus having the same

A seat belt retractor for a seat belt includes a spool for winding the seatbelt, a first seat belt load limiting mechanism for limiting load applied on the seat belt in an emergency, a second seat belt load limiting mechanism for limiting the load applied to the seat belt when a predetermined condition based on an emergency situation is satisfied in the emergency, a driving member for actuating the second seat belt load limiting mechanism, and a controller for controlling the driving member. When the predetermined condition is satisfied, the controller sets the second seat belt load limiting mechanism in an operative state by not actuating the driving member. When the predetermined condition is not satisfied, the controller sets the second seat belt load limiting mechanism in an inoperative state by actuating the driving member.
