Method for joining two metallic, tubular joining members and a corresponding welding apparatus
A method for joining two metallic, tubular joining members to one another, the method including arranging two metallic, tubular joining members with respect to one another in an overlapping or end-face manner, and joining the joining members by material bond along a joining zone of the joining members. In the joining, a chain of joining spots extending in the circumferential direction of the joining members is produced in the joining zone, wherein successive joining spots in the chain overlap, wherein, in the joining, the joining spots are produced by means of TIG pulse welding with an arc time of up to 100 ms, preferably of up to 50 ms, wherein an arc of a welding pulse of the TIG pulse welding is extinguished after the arc time has been reached. A corresponding welding apparatus is also described.
Steel-frame cutting method and device
A method and an apparatus efficiently and reliably cut a steel frame. The cutting method includes locating a cutting torch apart from the steel frame held by a holding device in a direction along a cutting surface, moving the cutting torch from a cutting start position to a first cutting end position in a first feed direction perpendicular to a supply direction along the cutting surface, while applying a flame from a fire port of the cutting torch in the supply direction and supplying cutting oxygen to thereby cut a part of the cutting surface, stopping the cutting torch at the first cutting end position and thereafter cutting an uncut part by moving the cutting torch from the first cutting end position in a second feed direction opposite to the first feed direction.
Foreign substance collecting apparatus and electrical steel sheet manufacturing facility including same
A foreign substance collecting apparatus according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise: a collection body unit formed with a suction port through which air including foreign substances flows in and a discharge port through which air removed of the foreign substances is discharged; and a mixing unit provided inside the collection body unit and disposed on a flow passage of the air, and forming a vortex in washing water contained therein by inducing a rotary flow of the air.
High power laser offshore decommissioning tool, system and methods of use
There is provided high power laser systems, high power laser tools, and methods of using these tools and systems for cutting, sectioning and removing structures objects, and materials, and in particular, for doing so in difficult to access locations and environments, such as offshore, underwater, or in hazardous environments, such as nuclear and chemical facilities. Thus, there is also provided high power laser systems, high power laser tools, and methods of using these systems and tools for removing structures, objects, and materials located offshore, under bodies of water and under the seafloor.
Method for preventing spot welding crack of galvanized steel plate
One aspect of the present invention provides a method for preventing spot welding crack of a galvanized steel plate, which can reduce crack occurring due molten zinc having a low melting point when a galvanized advanced high strength steel (AHSS) plate is spot-welded, and can thus improve welding strength and fatigue life.
Welded joint manufacturing method, welded joint, tempering device, and welding apparatus
A welded joint manufacturing method includes: abutting a first electrode against a first steel sheet of a welded joint at a site A, which is a location at an outer side of a nugget in a sheet-plane direction in a plane running parallel to the first steel sheet; abutting a second electrode against a second steel sheet at a site B, which is a location at an outer side of the nugget in a sheet-plane direction in a plane running parallel to the first steel sheet of the welded joint, and positioned on an opposite side of the nugget from the site A; and passing a current through the welded joint between the first electrode and the second electrode.
Steel sheet assembly, method of manufacturing steel sheet assembly, and spot welding process
A welding process used in a method of manufacturing a steel sheet assembly includes spot welding steel sheets performed for a heat time of 0.08 seconds or more using a convex electrode with a tip radius of curvature of 20 mm or more or a flat electrode such that the weld force F (kN) for initial 0.03 seconds of the heat time satisfies formula: F<0.00125(1+0.75t.sub.all)+3 where TS (MPa) denotes an average strength of the steel sheets and represents a weighted mean value of a thickness of each of the steel sheets, and t.sub.all (mm) denotes a total thickness of the steel sheets (the sum of the thicknesses of the steel sheets).
Super charger components
A pulley assembly having a body, a shaft mount and a plurality of bolts is disclosed. The body is aligned to the shaft mount by providing a tight tolerance between a shoulder portion of the bolt and a neck portion of a counter sunk hole formed in the body. Additionally, an outer surface of the body may have a pattern of friction lines or patches formed by fusing particulate matter to the outer surface with heat generated by a laser beam.
Method for pre-treating stainless steel substrates before soldering using nanocrystalline solder foils
A soldered product comprising a first component soldered to a second component is provided. The first component comprises a stainless steel substrate, an adhesion promoter layer made of nickel deposited on at least one joining surface of the stainless steel substrate; and a tin layer deposited on the adhesion promoter layer. The tin layer has a layer thickness in the range of 10-30 m. The second component is typically a rare earth magnet.
Weld joints involving dissimilar metals and methods for forming same
A method of joining a steel first member to a stainless steel second member includes buttering a first joint surface on the first member, the buttering including: preheating the first joint surface; welding a border layer of weld material to the first joint surface; and heat treating the border layer and the first joint surface after welding the border layer. A weld is formed between the first and second members after heat treating the border layer and the first joint surface. The border layer and a second joint surface on the second member are preheated; and a body of weld material is added between the border layer and the second joint surface.
