Restraint system

A deployable restraint system comprising a reaction panel, a panel actuator that deploys the reaction panel, a cushion, and a cushion actuator that deploys the cushion. When both the reaction panel and the cushion are deployed, the reaction panel is configured to transfer force from the cushion to a roof and only one of two sides of a compartment. A lower end of the reaction panel is configured to couple to the one of the two sides with a tether that is moved by the panel actuator.

A seatbelt system for automatically detecting damage to a seatbelt webbing includes a strip of seatbelt webbing, a sensor, and processing circuitry. The strip of seatbelt webbing includes an embedded conductive material that extends through the strip of seatbelt webbing. The sensor is connected to the seatbelt webbing and is configured to measure electrical flow through the embedded conductive material. The processing circuitry is configured to receive the measurement of electrical flow from the sensor and to generate an alert based on the measurement.

Seatbelt assembly including proximity sensor and marker

A system includes a seatbelt retractor and a webbing payable from the seatbelt retractor. A marker is fixed to the webbing. A proximity sensor is fixed relative to the seatbelt retractor. The proximity sensor is designed to detect the marker when the marker is within sensing range of the proximity sensor. The marker is positioned along the webbing to be out of sensing range of the proximity sensor when the webbing is engaged with a 6-year-old anthropomorphic test device and to be in sensing range of the proximity sensor when the webbing is engaged with a child seat.

Alert device

An alert device alerts a driver sitting on a driver's seat in a vehicle by winding a seat belt on the driver's seat with a retractor. The alert device includes a seat position information acquisition unit configured to acquire seat position information relating to a position of the driver's seat, a height estimation unit configured to calculate art estimated height that is an estimated value of the driver's height based on the seat position information, a winding strength setting unit configured to set a winding strength that is a strength for winding the seat belt with the retractor based on the estimated height, and a retractor control unit configured to operate the retractor to wind the seat belt with the winding strength.

LOWER AND UPPER LATCH ANCHOR USE DETECTION SENSING DEVICE

A child restraint seat sensing device for a vehicle including a structural element at least partially defining a volume, wherein the structural element is located in a vehicle passenger seat between a seat base and seat back or is located behind the vehicle passenger seat, a stationary anchor in the vehicle, wherein the stationary anchor is located within the volume defined by the structural element, and a sensor mounted to the structural element, wherein the sensor is configured to detect whether a child restraint seat connector is attached to the stationary anchor.

A cover for an electrical connector may include an outer wall having a first edge and a second edge, a first side wall connected to a first end of the outer wall, a second side wall connected to a second end of the outer wall, a first clip portion disposed proximate the first edge and configured for rotational connection with a first wire frame portion, and/or a second clip portion disposed proximate the second edge configured for connection with a second wire frame portion.

VEHICLE OCCUPANT MONITORING

System and techniques for vehicle occupant monitoring are described herein. Sensor data, that includes visual image data, is obtained from a sensor array of the vehicle. An object carried by the vehicle is detected from the visual image data. A safety event for the vehicle may be identified based on the object detection and an operational element of the vehicle is altered in response to detecting the safety event.

VEHICLE SEATBELT DEVICE

A vehicle seatbelt device of an embodiment includes a recognizer that recognizes circumstances around a vehicle, a steering operator that is able to adjust steering of the vehicle, a vibrator that causes a portion of the steering operator to vibrate, a seatbelt that restrains a portion of the body of an occupant of the vehicle, a tension adjustment mechanism that is able to adjust the tension of the seatbelt, and a controller that controls the vibrator and the tension adjustment mechanism on the basis of the circumstances recognized by the recognizer.
