Vehicle state presentation system, vehicle, terminal device, and vehicle state presentation method
A vehicle state presentation system includes a terminal device including an ear mounting unit that is mounted on an ear of a user, and a vehicle. The vehicle includes a first communication unit that wirelessly communicates with the terminal device, and a first controller that causes the first communication unit to transmit a notification signal indicating that the vehicle detects a state of the vehicle other than a predetermined state to the terminal device, and the terminal device includes a second communication unit that wirelessly communicates with the vehicle, and a second controller that causes an output unit to perform a notification to the user based on the notification signal received by the second communication unit when the terminal device moves out of a predetermined distance range in which the vehicle is included.
Vehicle Security Alarm Assembly
A vehicle security alarm assembly includes a plurality of window sensors coupled to windows of a vehicle and plurality of handle sensors coupled to door handles of the vehicle. A motion sensing array is coupled to the vehicle to detect motion proximate the vehicle. Each of the window sensors, the handle sensors and the motion sensing array is in communication with the alarm system of the vehicle to selectively trigger the alarm system. A surveillance unit is mounted to a rear view mirror of the vehicle thereby facilitating the surveillance unit to surveil a back seat of the vehicle. A personal electronic device is included that is in communication with the alarm system for alerting an owner of the vehicle when the alarm system is triggered.
Communication apparatus and communication method
A communication apparatus executes authentication via wireless communication with a mobile device and, based on an authentication process, controls execution of a vehicle operation requested by a user. The communication apparatus includes a detection unit configured to detect closure of a door of a vehicle, an authentication processing unit configured to determine, in response to detection of the closure of the door by the detection unit, whether a specific mobile device is inside the vehicle by executing a first authentication process corresponding to a vehicle operation for which a highest security is set, among a plurality of vehicle operations that can be requested by the user, and an execution unit configured to execute, when the authentication processing unit has determined that the specific mobile device is inside the vehicle, a requested vehicle operation requestable from an inside of the vehicle and included in the plurality of vehicle operations.
Security device using sequences of fingerprints
A security device is disclosed. The security device includes multiple fingerprint sensors. Activating the security device requires users to enter an authentication sequence comprised of different finger-to-fingerprint-sensor combinations. This increases the number of available distinct elements that can be used in an authentication sequence of a given length for a fixed number of buttons. The device also combines two different modes of authentication to improve security. The security device can be integrated into motor vehicles, mobile computing devices or other systems.
Component damage and salvage assessment
Methods and systems for assessing, detecting, and responding to malfunctions involving components of autonomous vehicle and/or smart homes are described herein. Autonomous operation features and related components can be assessed using direct or indirect data regarding operation. Such assessment may be performed to determine the condition of components for salvage following a collision or other loss-event. To this end, the information regarding a plurality of components may be received. A component of the plurality of components may be identified for assessment. Assessment may including causing test signals to be sent to the identified component. In response to the test signal, one or more responses may be received. The received response may be compared to an expected response to determine whether the identified component is salvageable.
Communication device, communication system and communication method
A communication device mounted at a vehicle, the communication device including: a blocking section that, in a case in which communication with a second mobile device that is different from a first mobile device that transmits key information for the vehicle is interrupted, performs a blocking process to block an unlocking of the vehicle or a starting of the vehicle that is performed based on received key information.
Wheel fastener alarm
A wheel fastener alarm assembly is provided having a fastener body with a first portion defining a wrenching surface and a cavity, and a second portion with a threaded portion to attach and detach from a wheel of a vehicle. A sensor array is disposed in the cavity of fastener body to detect an attribute of the fastener body and generate an output signal based on the attribute of the fastener body. An antenna connected to the sensor array to transmit the signal to a remote location. A cap is secured to the first portion of the fastener body and covers the wrenching surface and the cavity opening to define a capped fastener body.
System and method for anti-tampering sensor assembly
The present teaching relates to method and system related to providing an anti-tampering sensor assembly on a vehicle. An inertial measurement unit (IMU) is attached to a structure hosting at least one sensor to form a rigid integral structure, which is deployed on a vehicle with an installation pose to enable the at least one sensor therein to sense surrounding information to facilitate autonomous driving. The installation pose of the IMU is indicative of an installation pose of the at least one sensor. The IMU is configured to obtain, in accordance with a schedule, one or more measurements associated with its state, which can be used to enable detecting tampering of the rigid integral structure.
VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM AND MOBILE DEVICE USED AS VEHICLE KEY FOB
An apparatus includes a vehicle control system (VCS) coupled to a computer of a vehicle via a CAN bus and configured to present selectively appearance of a presence in the vehicle of a smartkey, e.g., by energizing and de-energizing an actual smartkey of the vehicle. The VCS includes a VCS and a Bluetooth® VCS transceiver. The VCS stores VCS software. The apparatus also includes a smartphone with a Bluetooth® transceiver, and storing an app. The mobile device is paired with the VCS to communicate with the VCS via a Bluetooth® link. The app configures the smartphone to receive menu selections from a user, to generate communications that identify smartkey-enabled features of the VCS that correspond to the selections, and to send to the VCS the communications through the link. The VCS software configures the VCS to receive the communications and cause the vehicle to perform actions corresponding to the communications.
Integrated alarm systems for truck bed covers
A vehicle includes a passenger cabin and a truck bed located rearward of the passenger cabin. The vehicle includes a truck bed cover that is sized to cover the truck bed and is movably attached to one or more walls of the truck bed to allow the truck bed cover to be moved between open and closed positions. The truck bed cover includes a latching device that engages a striker in the closed position. A sensing device is mounted in the truck bed that is configured to provide an indication of an open condition of the truck bed cover to a vehicle locking and security ECU. The locking and security ECU configured to provide an indication using an OEM security system of the vehicle when the open condition is detected.
