VEHICLE CABIN SAFETY SYSTEM AND METHOD

A vehicle cabin hazard detection and management system includes an engine state sensor, a driver presence sensor, a cabin passenger sensor, a door latch sensor for each passenger door, a vehicle movement sensor, a cabin temperature sensor, an alarm device, a wireless messaging system, and a controller. The controller receives signals from the sensors, evaluates whether a hazardous condition is imminent for a cabin occupant, and activates an alarm and/or takes other action to counter the hazard.

Autonomous Vehicle Component Malfunction Impact Assessment

Methods and systems for assessing, detecting, and responding to malfunctions involving components of autonomous vehicles and/or smart homes are described herein. A risk of malfunction and/or cyber-attack may be determined by collecting operating data from a plurality of autonomous vehicles and/or smart homes. The operating data may be analyzed to identify occurrences of a component malfunctioning. For each component, a risk associated with malfunctioning and/or cyber-attack may be determined based upon the identified occurrences. Based on the risks, at least one result associated with the malfunction and/or cyber-attack may be determined. A component profile may be generated based upon the determined risk and/or the impact of the determined results.

Autonomous vehicle control signal

Methods and systems for communicating between autonomous vehicles are described herein. Such communication may be performed for signaling, collision avoidance, path coordination, and/or autonomous control. An autonomous vehicle may determine an upcoming maneuver for the autonomous vehicle and identify a vehicle signal which is indicative of the upcoming maneuver. Then the autonomous vehicle may present the vehicle signal. After presenting the vehicle signal, the autonomous vehicle may perform the maneuver.

Vehicle network intrusion detection system (IDS) using vehicle state predictions

In one embodiment, a processor of a vehicle predicts a state of the vehicle using a behavioral model. The model is configured to predict the state based in part on one or more state variables that are available from one or more sub-systems of the vehicle and indicative of one or more physical characteristics of the vehicle. The processor computes a representation of a difference between the predicted state of the vehicle and a measured state of the vehicle indicated by one or more state variables available from the one or more sub-systems of the vehicle. The processor detects a malicious intrusion of the vehicle based on the computed representation of the difference between the predicted and measured states of the vehicle exceeding a defined threshold. The processor initiates performance of a mitigation action for the detected intrusion, in response to detecting the malicious intrusion of the vehicle.

Apparatus for managing vehicle intrusion, system having the same and method thereof

The present disclosure provides an apparatus for managing a vehicle intrusion, a system having the same, and a method thereof. The apparatus for managing a vehicle intrusion includes a processor that determines presence of an occupant who intrudes into a vehicle and notifies a user of the presence of the occupant who intrudes into the vehicle, and storage that stores a result of detecting the presence of the occupant obtained by the processor. Accordingly, it is possible to detect whether an intruder who intrudes into a vehicle before, after or while a user gets in the vehicle is present and inform the user of the fact, thereby assuring safety of the user and safety of the vehicle.
