Component damage and salvage assessment
Methods and systems for assessing, detecting, and responding to malfunctions involving components of autonomous vehicle and/or smart homes are described herein. Autonomous operation features and related components can be assessed using direct or indirect data regarding operation. Such assessment may be performed to determine the condition of components for salvage following a collision or other loss-event. To this end, the information regarding a plurality of components may be received. A component of the plurality of components may be identified for assessment. Assessment may including causing test signals to be sent to the identified component. In response to the test signal, one or more responses may be received. The received response may be compared to an expected response to determine whether the identified component is salvageable.
SECURITY METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
The present disclosure relates to a method and system for enhancing security in a vehicle, including capturing an image of an area in the vehicle or in the vicinity of the vehicle, analysing the captured image, and determining whether there is an attack taking place in the vicinity of the vehicle.

Malicious event detection for autonomous vehicles
A system comprises an autonomous vehicle (AV) and a control device operably coupled with the AV. The control device detects a series of events within a threshold period of time, where a number of series of events in the series of events is above a threshold number. The series of events taken in the aggregate within the threshold period of time deviates from a normalcy mode. The normalcy mode comprises events that are expected to the encountered by the AV. The control device determines whether the series of events corresponds to a malicious event, where the malicious event indicates tampering with the AV. In response to determining that the series of events corresponds to the malicious event, the series of events are escalated to be addressed.

VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM WITH WIRELESSLY-COUPLED UNDERHOOD COMPONENTS
A vehicle control system (VCS) in a passenger compartment interfaces with underhood components using a Bluetooth® link. The underhood components include a siren assembly with a sound generator and backup battery. The battery enables the siren assembly to function after the vehicle's battery is disabled. The siren assembly includes a Bluetooth® transceiver for establishing the link with the VCS. The siren assembly monitors the hood of the vehicle through a hood sensor, to detect unauthorized opening. In response to such opening, the siren assembly transmits an alarm to the VCS, which transmits an alarm to a user's mobile device and/or a security service. The sound generator may also be activated, by itself or under control of the VCS. The siren assembly connects to the engine computer/ignition module, to allow the VCS to monitor engine speed, and facilitate proper start of the engine when the VCS receives a remote start command.

VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH SAFETY SYSTEM AND METHOD OF RESPONDING TOO AN UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION OF A VEHICLE
An apparatus and safety system usable in, responding to an unauthorized possession of a vehicle configured to transport at least one person, including a vehicle safety system associated therewith, the safety system including to at least one of: a) device to generate at least one form of detectable signal and; b) a device to generate an electronic signal; and c) an apparatus which generates an input to cause the system to generate at least one of: i) the at least one form of detectable audible signal that can be sensed by persons in the vicinity of the vehicle; ii) the electronic signal; and iii) the at least one image of a person in/on the vehicle. The system is configured so that at least one of the at least one form of detectable signal, the electronic signal, and the at least one image is generated after a time delay following the generation of the input to the safety system. The device to generate an electric signal and the system are protected in a protective case.

Vehicle side view camera system with adjustable field of view
A vehicle can include one or more movably mounted cameras that are able to move to adjust a viewing angle of the camera(s) relative to a body of the vehicle. The camera(s) may be movable by virtue of being coupled to a movable side mirror, such that movement of the side mirror changes a field of view of the camera coupled to the side mirror. For example, the side mirror can be rotated about a rotational axis between a first position in which a field of view of the camera is directed in a first direction (e.g. toward a ground proximate the vehicle), and a second position in which the field of view of the camera is directed in a second direction, different than the first direction (e.g., outward from the vehicle or toward a door of the vehicle).
