A method for transferring shipments in vehicles, including: a first communications module (M1) for establishing a communication connection to a communications terminal of a supplier which receives authorization data via a communication network (N1); a first identification routine for clearly identifying a supplier; a second communication module (M2) for establishing a communication connection via a wireless communication network (N2) to a communication device of a control device of the access assembly of a vehicle; a second identification routine for clearly identifying the system by the access assembly; a third communication module (M3) for receiving update request information from the driver; and an update routine for updating authorization data in a memory of the system.

Secure access to vehicle using biometric identifier

Secure access to a vehicle is described, in which one or more biometric identifiers of a user may be utilized to enable the vehicle. The user may not operate the vehicle without satisfying security measures based on his/her biometric identifier generated from various biological traits. In some embodiments, an artificial engine and/or algorithm may be combined to facilitate the authentication process to determine whether the user is authorized to use the vehicle. The secure access features may also manage a list of biometric identifiers of the authorized users. In some instances, the secure access features may be temporarily disabled. Further, individual parts of the vehicle may be associated with a unique identifier of the vehicle (which may include a vehicle identification number), and/or may be configured to transmit their geological locations determined by a global positioning system (GPS).

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING A MONITORING SERVICE FOR A PEDESTRIAN

The disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for providing a monitoring service for a pedestrian. In an example method, a request for activation of a monitoring service can be received. The request can include a present location and a destination. Upon receiving the request for activation of the monitoring service, a travel route can be determined from the present location to the destination. As a traveler travels along the travel route, each of one or more vehicles along the travel route may be activated. Each of the one or more vehicles can be configured to stream at least one video feed when the traveler is proximate to the each of the one or more vehicles. The monitoring service can be terminated when the traveler has reached the destination.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ACCESS CONTROL FOR A ROBOTIC VEHICLE

A method for controlling a vehicle is applied to an in-vehicle terminal, includes: obtaining current position information of a vehicle and a preset electronic fence, determining a travel direction according to the current position information and the preset electronic fence; when determining that the vehicle travels from the inside of the preset electronic fence to the outside of the preset electronic fence, determining a current position state of the vehicle according to the current position information, where the position state represents a relative position of the vehicle and the preset electronic fence; determining whether the current position state is the same as a previous position state of the vehicle; and when the current position state is different from the previous position state, performing one or two of outputting warning information and sending a key shielding signal, to enable a key controller to shield a key control signal of the vehicle.

Rental/Car-Share Vehicle Access and Management System and Method

An apparatus and operational method are disclosed that use control hardware resident in a vehicle to enable a remote computing system to wirelessly communicate with the vehicle. The control hardware includes a processor configured to interface with a wireless network and the vehicle through, respectively, a wireless network interface and a vehicle interface. A plurality of CAN (control area network) bus transceivers may exist within the vehicle interface operable to allow the processor to interface with multiple vehicle types. The processor may then be configured to automatically detect an identifier for the vehicle though the vehicle interface and automatically select a CAN bus transceiver from the plurality of CAN bus transceivers based on the detected identifier. The processor can then communicate with the vehicle's CAN bus via the selected CAN bus transceiver.

Concept for provision of a key signal or an immobilizer signal for a vehicle

A method for a device for a vehicle is disclosed, wherein the device comprises a key chip. The method comprises obtaining information relating to the release of a key signal or of an immobilizer signal from a central computer via a wireless mobile communication system. The method further comprises providing a control signal to the key chip based on the information relating to the release of the key signal or of the immobilizer signal, wherein the control signal is designed to allow the key chip to generate the key signal or the immobilizer signal. The method further comprises providing the key signal and/or the immobilizer signal, by the key chip, via a wireless communication link to a central locking system and/or an immobilizer system of the vehicle after the control signal is obtained.

Methods and Apparatus for User Interactions with Autonomous Vehicles

According to one aspect, a method includes detecting at a vehicle which includes an ultra-wideband (UWB) communications system, a presence of a first device, and pairing the vehicle and the first device, wherein pairing the vehicle and the first device causes the vehicle and the first device to communicate using UWB communications. The method also includes exchanging information between the vehicle and the first device using the UWB communications after the vehicle and the first device are paired, and performing an action using the vehicle, wherein the action is based on the information.

Device and method for controlling an access authorisation and/or driving authorisation for a vehicle

A system for controlling an access authorization and/or driving authorization for a vehicle includes at least one mobile communication device and a control unit in the vehicle that receives and checks authorization data sent from the mobile communication device. The mobile communication device has a data carrier for storing the authorization data. The data carrier has at least one protected storage region for the storage of the authorization data. A database server transfers encrypted authorization data to the data carrier for storage in the protected storage region.

Multiple-band identification and ranging

A long-range power-efficient multiple-band identification system and method includes, for example, a base-station control module and paired electronic key fob. The base-station control module and paired electronic key fob is arranged to provide a UHF (ultra-high frequency) wake transmitter for transmitting a wakeup signal in a UHF frequency range to the paired electronic key. When in range, the electronic key is awakened by the wakeup signal and in response transmits an acknowledgment reply to the base-station control module. After receiving the acknowledgment, the base-station control module transmits a relatively high power localization signal for determining an electronic key location.
