VEHICLE INTELLIGENT ASSISTANT USING CONTEXTUAL DATA
The present disclosure is directed to methods and apparatus that may collect data from at a vehicle. Data may be collected by connecting to a port of an on board diagnostic bus at the vehicle or this data may be received via a wireless communication interface. Collected data may be stored at a database and this data may be analyzed to identify whether a person at a vehicle is authorized to access or drive the vehicle. This collected data may also be analyzed to identify faults that may occur at a vehicle and recommendations to responding those faults may be provided to a driver of the vehicle via a user interface such as a speaker or display at the vehicle.
Vehicle closure panel control assembly and method
A vehicle closure panel control assembly includes, among other things, a closure panel, an actuator system that can move the closure panel back and forth between an open position and a closed position, a positional sensor that senses a position of at least part of a user to detect a user gesture, and a control module that commands the actuator system to control movement of the closure panel. The commands from the control module to the actuator system are based at least partially on the user gesture.
Vehicular exterior door handle assembly with light projection and gesture sensing
A vehicular exterior door handle assembly includes a base portion configured to mount at an exterior door handle region of a vehicular door, a handle portion pivotally mounted at the base portion, and a light projection device. The handle portion is pivotable between a non-deployed orientation, where an outer surface of the handle portion is coplanar with an outer surface of the vehicular door at the exterior door handle region, and a deployed orientation, where the handle portion is pivoted inward into a door handle pocket within the vehicular door. The light projection device is operable to project an icon or character onto the outer surface of the handle portion when the handle portion is in the deployed orientation. The light projection device projects the icon or character responsive to the handle portion pivoting to the deployed orientation.
ADJUSTMENT DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE POWER-OPERATED ADJUSTMENT OF AN ADJUSTMENT PART ON A VEHICLE BASED ON AT LEAST ONE OPERATING EVENT
A vehicle including a number of adjustable parts each configured to be adjusted by a motor, a sensor configured to detect a first gesture performed by a first person in a first sensor area indicative of a number of operating events, and a controller configured to, responsive to receiving the first gesture from the sensor, provide the first person a first operating event option and a second operating event option to select either a first operating event or a second operating event, and responsive to receiving a second gesture indicative of a selection of the first operating event, command a first motor to adjust a first adjustable part of the number of adjustable parts.
System and method of gesture detection for a remote device
A method for operating a mobile device includes detecting a gesture by the mobile device. Detecting the gesture includes receiving a reflected millimeter wave signal by the mobile device, generating a first message in accordance with the detected gesture, and transmitting the first message from the mobile device to an external remote device. The detected gesture is associated with an operation of the remote device.
Method for the interactive presentation of content on an outer face of a transportation vehicle
A method for the interactive presentation of content on an exterior surface of a transportation vehicle, wherein the transportation vehicle has a capture device and a display device. The capture device detects when a person approaches the transportation vehicle; switches the display device from an inactive state to an active state when an approach is detected; recognizes gestures of the person; and alters the presented content of the display device based on the gestures of the person.
IN-VEHICLE APPARATUS, AUTHENTICATION METHOD, AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An authentication pattern generation unit, if a signal from a portable device is received, prompts a user who uses the portable device to perform a specific action. A checking unit determines whether or not the user has performed the specific action. If the checking unit determines that the user has performed the specific action, the checking unit authenticates that the portable device is an authorized device.
VEHICLE DOOR WITH USER GESTURE DETECTION
A door assembly has a door panel for an entryway into a vehicle having an electronic controller. The door assembly also includes a door locking system having a latch mechanism for selectively latching the door panel to and unlatching the door panel from the vehicle body. The door assembly additionally includes an electronic circuit embedded in the door panel, having an electronic chip configured to detect a gesture of a vehicle user proximate the door panel, and configured to generate a signal indicative of the detected gesture. Each of the latch mechanism and the electronic circuit is in operative communication with the controller. The controller is configured to receive the signal from the electronic circuit and command the latch mechanism to either latch or unlatch the door panel from the vehicle body in response to the detected gesture. A method of unlatching a vehicle door panel is also disclosed.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE, VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A vehicle control device of an embodiment includes a recognizer configured to recognize a peripheral situation of a vehicle and a controller configured to control a window portion of the vehicle, and the controller controls opening and closing of the window portion on the basis of a result of the recognizing has recognized a gesture which is performed by a user of the vehicle.
ELECTROMAGNETIC-BASED SENSOR WITH COLD MIRROR COVER
An electromagnetic-based sensor system includes a sensor assembly with a biometric identification sensor to determine a unique biometric characteristic of a user using a first non-visible electromagnetic radiation. Specifically, a palm vein sensor may measure a unique pattern of veins in a user's palm using near-field infrared light. A gesture sensor uses a second non-visible electromagnetic radiation, such as infrared or radio frequency to detect movement in a specific gesture pattern. An object detection sensor uses a third non-visible electromagnetic radiation to detect the presence of an object. A mirror overlies the sensor assembly and is reflective to visible light and transmissive to the non-visible electromagnetic radiation. The sensor assembly may be used within a vehicle to authenticate an individual user as an authorized user to unlock the vehicle. One or more settings of the vehicle may be set to predetermined values depending on the identity of the user.
