Intelligent Drone Traffic Management Via Radio Access Network
Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to intelligent drone traffic management via a radio access network (RAN). As disclosed herein, a RAN node, such as an eNodeB, can receive, from a drone, a flight configuration. The flight configuration can include a drone ID and a drone route. The RAN node can determine whether capacity is available in an airspace associated with the RAN node. In response to determining that capacity is available in the airspace associated with the RAN node, the RAN node can add the drone ID to a queue of drones awaiting use of the airspace associated with the RAN node. When the drone ID is next in the queue of drones awaiting use of the airspace associated with the RAN node, the RAN node can instruct the drone to fly through at least a portion of the airspace in accordance with the drone route.
SMART PAN FOR REPRESENTATION OF PHYSICAL SPACE
An interaction mechanism is defined for the navigation of a representation of a physical space, whereby events or entities of interest outside the current view are detected, and flagged by adding a visual indicator at or near the edge of the view closest to the entity in question. By designating the visual indicator, for example with a mouse click or by directing the user's gaze at the visual indicator, the representation is prompted to modify the representation to include the space incorporating the entity of interest. The point of view may revert to the initial point of view on a further user action or after a predetermined time, or the original point of view may be flagged as a new entity of interest which the user may then select. Multiple points of interest may be defined such that the user may jump from point to point.
HISTORICAL REPRESENTATION IN GAZE TRACKING INTERFACE
A graphical user interface supporting eye tracking is enriched with graphical representations of the degree of attention afforded respective areas of the user interface. These representations may comprise heatmaps, visual variable and the like. The generation of these representations may furthermore be used to adjust other user interface behaviour, for example by repositioning a mouse cursor to a part of the screen afforded greater protection. The attention information of a plurality of users may be compiled together and used to modify the graphical representation, providing each user with an indication of the focus of attention of their colleagues, thereby establishing a group awareness.
ZOOM EFFECT IN GAZE TRACKING INTERFACE
A zoom operation in an eye tracking based graphical user interface, where the zoom operation, as initiated by a scroll wheel etc. takes place with respect to the focus of the user's attention as determined on the basis of eye tracking data. Mechanisms for determining the point of attention based on a sliding window recording point of regard and subject to a variety of weighting functions are proposed.
Systems and methods for managing restricted areas for unmanned autonomous vehicles
Methods, systems, and devices for providing data from a server to a UAV enable the UAV to navigate with respect to areas of restricted air space (restricted areas). A server may receive from a UAV, a request for restricted area information based on a position of the UAV. The server may determine boundaries of a surrounding area containing the position of the UAV and a number of restricted areas. The server may transmit coordinate information to the UAV defining the restricted areas contained within the surrounding area.
Planned flight tracking and divert alerting through the employment of trusted automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) position reporting system
A system and method are provided for integrating live flight following information provided as Trusted Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) data with stored planned flight and other information, and for, in part, comparatively analyzing the data/information to generate automated alerts to one or more end-users when an aircraft is determined to deviate from a planned flight route by a predetermined degree, as specified by adjustable set parameters. Broadcast ADS-B data transmitted by participating aircraft is collected and communicated via a secure, trusted and dependable worldwide network for analysis in a centralized location. The analysis involves, in part, comparing the ADS-B data to other information provided to, or collected by, the centralized location from multiple sources regarding planned routes of flight for participating aircraft and other available information relevant to aircraft operations in particular geographic locations. Alerts regarding identified discrepancies or deviations are generated and communicated to stakeholders.
Distributed flight management system
A method for operating a distributed flight management system. The method includes operating a control station instance of the distributed flight management system. The method includes receiving flight management system data from a remotely accessed vehicle. The method includes receiving time-space-position information of the remotely accessed vehicle from the remotely accessed vehicle. The method includes updating the control station instance of the distributed flight management system based at least on the received flight management system data and the time-space-position information of the remotely accessed vehicle. The method includes outputting updated flight management system data for transmission to the remotely accessed vehicle to synchronize a remotely accessed vehicle instance of the distributed flight management system with the control station instance of the distributed flight management system.
Multiple landing threshold aircraft arrival system
A system and method for safe and effective implementation of approach procedures for guiding multiple aircraft of different weights approaching a single runway for landing, whereby lighter incoming aircraft will fly higher than heavier aircraft to avoid the wakes from the heavier aircraft, for the purpose of increasing the landing rate and, in turn, the number of aircraft that can land.
DRONE DETECTION SYSTEMS
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on storage devices, for drone-augmented emergency response services. In one aspect, a device includes a network interface, one or more sensors, one or more processors, and one or more storage devices that include instructions that are operable to perform operations. The operations include monitoring a predetermined geographic area that surrounds a particular property, determining that a drone device is within the predetermined geographic area that surrounds the particular property, determining whether the drone device that is detected within the predetermined geographic area that surrounds the property is an unauthorized drone device, and in response to determining that the drone device that is detected within the predetermined geographic area that surrounds the property is an unauthorized drone device, transmitting a signal indicating the detection of the unauthorized drone device within the predetermined geographic area that surrounds the property.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING COMPLIANCE WITH A NON-TRANSGRESSION ZONE BETWEEN AIRCRAFT APPROACH CORRIDORS
A method, computing system and computer program product are provided to monitor compliance with a non-transgression zone between aircraft approach corridors, thereby facilitating simultaneous instrument approaches. In the context of a method, a predicted path of an aircraft is determined during a flight based upon at least a representation of a roll angle of the aircraft and a cross-track component of the velocity of the aircraft. The method also includes identifying an instance in which the predicted path of the aircraft during the flight intersects a non-transgression zone. The method further includes causing an alert to be issued in the instance in which the predicted path of the aircraft during the flight intersects the non-transgression zone.
