The invention relates to a system comprising a door, in particular of a vehicle, having a door lock, a door control module that has a transmission and reception unit at the door side or is connected thereto, and having a key that is associated with the door lock and that has a transmission and reception unit at the key side, wherein the transmission and reception unit at the door side and the transmission and reception unit at the key side are configured for radio communication. The time of flight of a radio signal transmitted by the transmission and reception unit at the door side and reflected by the transmission and reception unit at the key side can be determined by means of the transmission and reception unit at the door side. Alternatively, the time of flight of a radio signal transmitted by the transmission and reception unit at the key side and reflected by the transmission and reception unit at the door side can be determined by means of the transmission and reception unit at the key side.

A system for monitoring functions of a work machine. The system comprises an electronically readable identifier associated with an operator of the work machine. A user interface operable by the operator. A processor communicatively coupled to the user interface. At least one control device, wherein the at least one control device is configured to control operations of the work machine or an implement coupled to the work machine in response to receipt of an output signal generated by the processor. The processor is configured to execute a set of instructions stored on a memory such that when executed the processor is programmed to: read out the electronically readable identifier and obtain, via the user interface, an input selection of a desired device function assigned in an authorization database to the electronically readable identifier and to activate a desired function for a limited time duration that is defined or that is specified by means of the user interface.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to vehicle technologies, and disclose a method and system for controlling a vehicle, and a fingerprint chip. The method comprises: collecting a fingerprint image of a user; authenticating the user according to the fingerprint image and acquiring identity information of the user after the authentication succeeds; acquiring a vehicle personalization parameter of the user according to the identity information of the user and setting up the vehicle according to the vehicle personalization parameter. The embodiments further provide a vehicle control system and a fingerprint chip. The technical solutions provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure can allow simple and quick personalized settings of a vehicle based on identity recognition, which can facilitate sharing a vehicle among family members in most cases.

A system includes a processor configured to receive a set of vehicle-specific, user-specified vehicle physical system settings for a first vehicle. The processor is also configured to use a known first vehicle physical configuration to convert the system settings into user-centric settings, representing at least spacing between physical components achieved in the first vehicle by the user-specified settings. The processor is further configured to save the converted user-centric settings with respect to a user profile.

Method and apparatus are disclosed for activation of valet mode for vehicles. An example vehicle system includes a remote near-field communication (NFC) device and a vehicle. The vehicle includes an engine, a cabin, and an interior NFC reader located in the cabin. The vehicle also includes a controller configured to enter a valet mode and authenticate the remote NFC device for the valet mode when the engine is active and the interior NFC reader communicates with the remote NFC device.

A vehicle terminal automatically registering a profile image of a user to a vehicle using images stored in a mobile terminal of a user and performing a face authentication includes a communicator that performs a data communication with the mobile terminal of the user, a camera that obtains a face image of the user, and a processor that registers the profile image of the user using an image among the images stored in the mobile terminal. The processor learns a facial feature of the user using the images stored in the mobile terminal as learning data and analyzes the face image obtained through the camera based on the learned facial feature of the user to perform the face authentication of the user.

A device includes a microprocessor and a computer readable medium coupled to the microprocessor. The computer readable medium includes instructions stored thereon that cause the microprocessor to receive output from at least one sensor monitoring an interior space of a vehicle and determine, based on the received output, a condition of an occupant in the interior space of the vehicle. The instructions cause the microprocessor to determine, based on the determined condition of the occupant, to alter a first presentation of information displayed to a display device of the vehicle to a second presentation of the information displayed to the display device. A vehicle is provided that detects a first presence of a driver in a vehicle, based upon detecting the first presence, provides a user interface for the driver to enter first user information, information, and communicates the first sensitive information to a vendor to authenticate the combines the first user information and the vehicle information to generate the first sensitive driver to enable the vendor to perform a financial transaction with the driver using the first sensitive information while the vehicle is in motion. The processor is programmed to initiate automatically, on behalf of the driver, the financial transaction with the vendor in response to a sensed state or location of the vehicle.

A vehicle, based on user preferences and while the vehicle is in motion: in response to identification of a first event (e.g., a third party resident being in a vehicle location and/or on the route of the vehicle) and based on the user preferences, determines that the user desires to perform a transaction with the third party, automatically sends a first communication to the third party for the user (the first communication being part of a secure session and enabling authentication of the user by the third party), at a second later time and while the vehicle is in motion, and in response to identification of a second event, automatically sends a different second communication to the third party. The second communication is part of the secure session and enables the third party to complete the transaction with the user.
