A server for providing a ride sharing service for an autonomous driving vehicle, includes a memory; and a controller to receive a signal from a first application installed in a first external device associated with a first user for indicating that the autonomous driving vehicle is available, the first user being associated with an ownership of the autonomous driving vehicle; receive a ride sharing request from a second application installed in a second external device associated with a second user, the ride sharing request including a first and second destination location, the first destination location corresponding to a location of the second external terminal or a pick-up location, and the ride sharing request and the second destination corresponding to a drop-off point; search autonomous driving vehicles and identify candidate vehicles to service the ride sharing request based on a condition; and transmit a control signal to the autonomous driving vehicle to initiate autonomous driving.

The method includes: a) the controller sending a request to the mobile device demanding transmission of the authorization for a vehicle function, b) the mobile device receiving the request from the controller and sending the authorization to the controller, c) the controller checking the authorization and activates the vehicle function if the authorization is acceptable, d) the mobile device sending the authorization only if the device was previously actuated for the purpose of authorization and thus was authorized to send the authorization, e) and the controller activating the vehicle function only if a signal of a sensor device actuatable by the user has previously been received by the controller.

A method and an enhanced electronic logging device (ELD) enable a load lock feature of a vehicle that assists with automated theft detection, reporting, and tracking of stolen vehicles/cargo. The processor of the ELD enables the ELD to register the operator MCD to receive notifications generated by a load lock module and present on a display of the ELD at least one selectable option for activating a load lock of the vehicle, the load lock identifying that the operator has parked the vehicle and has triggered the ELD to report any movement of the vehicle that occurs while the load lock is activated. The processor generates and transmits a notification of unauthorized movement or a potential theft of the vehicle in response to receiving an input from the movement detection device indicating that the vehicle is moving or being moved from a parked location while the load lock is activated.

A method and an enhanced electronic logging device (ELD) enable a load lock feature of a vehicle that assists with automated theft detection, reporting, and tracking of stolen vehicles/cargo. The processor of the ELD enables the ELD to register the operator MCD to receive notifications generated by a load lock module and present on a display of the ELD at least one selectable option for activating a load lock of the vehicle, the load lock identifying that the operator has parked the vehicle and has triggered the ELD to report any movement of the vehicle that occurs while the load lock is activated. The processor generates and transmits a notification of unauthorized movement or a potential theft of the vehicle in response to receiving an input from the movement detection device indicating that the vehicle is moving or being moved from a parked location while the load lock is activated.

A central locking system for locking a vehicle includes a central locking unit and at least one vehicle lock of the vehicle, wherein the vehicle lock is connected to the central locking unit and arranged to be regulated by the central locking unit between a locked and unlocked position.
