SYSTEM, METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR ENABLING OPERATION BASED ON USER AUTHORIZATION
A system, method, and computer program are provided for enabling operation based on user authorization. In use, a first user is authenticated by receiving at least one first image based on a first set of sampling parameters, identifying at least one face associated with the at least one first image, and determining that the at least one face is an authorized user. Based on the authentication, the first user is permitted to access a first vehicle. Additionally, use of the first vehicle is verified for the first user, and in response to the verification, operation of the first vehicle by the first user is enabled.

VEHICLE, UNLOCKING APPARATUS, AND METHOD
A registrant detection means detects, by checking a captured image captured by an imaging apparatus mounted on a vehicle against face images of registrants, that the registrant has approached the vehicle, and detects a position of the registrant. A control target determination means determines which of a plurality of doors of the vehicle is to be controlled based on the position of the registrant. An inquiry means asks the registrant whether or not to unlock a door lock. A door control means unlocks a lock of the door determined to be the control target based on a result of the inquiry.

Controlling battery output power to prevent vehicle theft
A method is presented for controlling power output by a battery in a vehicle. The method includes: measuring voltage of the battery during a sequence of vehicle events to form a time series, where each vehicle event is powered by the battery; constructing an unknown fingerprint from the voltage measurements made during the sequence of vehicle events, where the unknown fingerprint is indicative of a sequence of vehicle events; comparing the unknown fingerprint to the at least one fingerprint; receiving a start signal, where the start signal is a request to start the engine of the vehicle; and, in response to receiving the start signal and based on the comparison of the unknown fingerprint to the at least one fingerprint, outputting electric power from the battery to an electric starter motor of the vehicle.
PROCESSING UNIT, SYSTEM, AND COMPUTER-IMPLEMENTED METHOD FOR A VEHICLE INTERIOR FOR DETECTING AND REACTING TO ODORS OF A VEHICLE OCCUPANT
The invention relates to a processing unit, a system, and a computer-implemented method for a vehicle interior, for detecting and reacting to odors of a vehicle occupant.

FACE AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM, VEHICLE INCLUDING THE SAME, AND FACE AUTHENTICATION METHOD
A face authentication system capable of flexibly coping with a change in a user's appearance and surrounding environment includes: a camera configured to acquire a first image for performing a face authentication process; and a controller configured to compare the first image with the at least one reference face image based on the face authentication process being started, determine a similarity score based on the first image being compared with the at least one reference face image, determine that face authentication may be successful in response to the similarity score being greater than a first threshold value, and register the first image as the at least one reference face image in response to the similarity score being greater than the first threshold value and less than a second threshold value.
VEHICLE DOOR INTERFACE INTERACTIONS
Techniques for interacting with authorized and unauthorized users by a door interface component are discussed herein. A vehicle computing device can implement the door interface component and/or an authentication component to control operation of a door of the vehicle or initiate a communication for assistance. For instance, the door interface component can include a button, that provides different visual indicators and functionality based on whether the user is authorized to enter the autonomous vehicle (e.g., open a door or provide visual indicators for the user to select to cause the door to open) or to request to move the vehicle, initiate hiring the vehicle, or call for help when the user is unauthorized to enter the autonomous vehicle.
