A method and an enhanced electronic logging device (ELD) enable a load lock feature of a vehicle that assists with automated theft detection, reporting, and tracking of stolen vehicles/cargo. The processor of the ELD enables the ELD to register the operator MCD to receive notifications generated by a load lock module and present on a display of the ELD at least one selectable option for activating a load lock of the vehicle, the load lock identifying that the operator has parked the vehicle and has triggered the ELD to report any movement of the vehicle that occurs while the load lock is activated. The processor generates and transmits a notification of unauthorized movement or a potential theft of the vehicle in response to receiving an input from the movement detection device indicating that the vehicle is moving or being moved from a parked location while the load lock is activated.

LUGGAGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND LUGGAGE MANAGEMENT METHOD

A luggage management system includes: a locking/unlocking device mounted in a vehicle and configured to lock and unlock the vehicle in response to a request from a terminal, the terminal being used by a user who delivers luggage; an imaging device configured to capture an image of an inside of a predetermined area located in the vehicle, the predetermined area being used as a delivery place of the luggage; a control device configured to cause the imaging device to capture the image in the predetermined area when the locking/unlocking device locks or unlocks the vehicle in response to the request, and store the image; and a determination unit configured to determine, based on a result of comparison between a reference image and a comparison image, whether the luggage has been carried away from the predetermined area.

VEHICLE TO VEHICLE SECURITY

A controller for a first vehicle is configured to, when a security system of the first vehicle is activated, transmit a vehicle-to-vehicle signal to a second vehicle, the signal comprising instructions that, when executed by a controller of the second vehicle, cause the controller of the second vehicle to activate a security system of the second vehicle. A method includes determining whether a security system of a first vehicle is activated and, if it is determined that the security system is activated, transmitting a vehicle-to-vehicle signal to a second vehicle, the signal comprising instructions that, when executed by a controller of the second vehicle, cause the controller of the second vehicle to activate a security system of the second vehicle.

Enhanced vehicle key

A enhanced vehicle key and a method for voice activation, the method may include supplying power to a low power trigger sensor of a enhanced vehicle key, by a power source of the enhanced vehicle key; wherein the supplying of power is preceded by powering the enhanced vehicle key while a part of the enhanced vehicle key is positioned within an ignition switch of a vehicle; detecting, by the low power trigger sensor, a voice trigger; awakening, following the detection, a processor of the enhanced vehicle key; searching, by the processor, for a voice command; and when finding the voice command then executing the voice command.

VEHICLE SIDE VIEW CAMERA SYSTEM WITH ADJUSTABLE FIELD OF VIEW
20210129797 · 2021-05-06 · ·

A vehicle can include one or more movably mounted cameras that are able to move to adjust a viewing angle of the camera(s) relative to a body of the vehicle. The camera(s) may be movable by virtue of being coupled to a movable side mirror, such that movement of the side mirror changes a field of view of the camera coupled to the side mirror. For example, the side mirror can be rotated about a rotational axis between a first position in which a field of view of the camera is directed in a first direction (e.g. toward a ground proximate the vehicle), and a second position in which the field of view of the camera is directed in a second direction, different than the first direction (e.g., outward from the vehicle or toward a door of the vehicle).

Incident capture system for parked vehicles using an rear/multi view camera system

Incident capture systems and methods for a vehicle. One example system includes a head unit that displays a user interface to view and manage incident images. The system also includes an existing vehicle sensor configured to sense conditions outside of the vehicle, an existing vehicle camera configured to capture conditions outside of the vehicle, and an electronic controller. The electronic controller is configured to detect a change in the conditions outside of the vehicle from the existing sensor; determine a state of the system, wherein the state of the system is one selected from the group consisting of an on state and an off state; and in response to determining an on state, receive at least one image from the existing vehicle camera; and store the at least one image in a stack located in a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium.

The processor may monitor for a change in tension and execute one or more security measures in response.

VEHICLE OFF-GUARD MONITORING SYSTEM

A vehicle off-guard monitoring system includes an automobile vehicle having multiple sensor inputs capturing sensor data representing hazards including garage fires, excessive water or flooding, rain, snow, and at least one person loitering proximate to the automobile vehicle. A database has multiple saved images of the hazards. A computer compares the multiple saved images to the sensor data captured by the multiple inputs to identify if at least one match exists between any one of the multiple saved images of the hazards and the sensor data and when the at least one match exists generating a predefined warning signal. A smart-phone application in communication with the computer and a remote system signals the predefined warning signal to a user of the automobile vehicle to mitigate against damage occurring to the automobile vehicle.
