Detection device for a motor vehicle and associated methods for detecting an obstacle and for opening a movable panel of the motor vehicle
The invention relates to a detection device (1) for a motor vehicle (VI) comprising at least one optical detector (3). Said at least one optical detector (3) being configured for detecting the approach of a person (U) in a predefined area in the vicinity of the vehicle in order to activate opening command means of a device for opening a movable panel (5, 7) of the vehicle (VI). According to the invention: —said detection device (1) comprises switching means for switching the function of the at least one optical detector (3) to a detecting function of an obstacle (V2) at a predefined distance of the vehicle (VI) when the identifier of an authorized person (U) is detected inside the vehicle (VI) and the vehicle movable panels (5, 7) are closed, and wherein—said detection device (1) comprises processing means configured to react depending on a detection of an obstacle (V2) by the optical sensor (3). The invention also relates to corresponding methods for detecting obstacles and for opening a movable panel of the motor vehicle.
System for providing access to a vehicle
A system for providing access to a vehicle includes first and second closure panels of the vehicle that are operable between open and closed positions. The system also includes a sensing system of the vehicle that senses at least one characteristic of a user positioned in an exterior environment of the vehicle. The system further includes a controller that determines a load carrying condition of the user based on the at least one characteristic of the user sensed by the sensing system. The controller prompts movement of the first closure panel from the closed position to the open position based on a determination of a first load carrying condition of the user. The controller also prompts movement of the first and second closure panels from the closed positions to the open positions based on a determination of a second load carrying condition of the user.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING OPERATOR CHARACTERISTIC TO ADJUST POSITION OF POWER ACTUATED MOVABLE PANEL
A system and method include a sensor disposed adjacent a power actuated movable panel of a vehicle for detecting an approach of an operator to the power actuated movable panel and measuring at least one operator characteristic of the operator in proximity to the sensor. The system and method also include a controller in communication with the sensor to interpret sensor data of the operator from the sensor to determine the at least one operator characteristic to adjust a position of the power actuated movable panel based on the at least one operator characteristic.
Vehicle control system, vehicle control method, and recording medium in which vehicle control program is recorded
A vehicle control system: allows a first camera to repeatedly capture an image around a vehicle at a predetermined interval to determine, with a first accuracy, whether or not the captured image includes a possible facial image of a user of the vehicle; sets the polling interval in accordance with a predetermined polling interval setting condition; allows a second camera to capture an image around the vehicle to determine, with a second accuracy higher than the first accuracy, whether or not the captured image includes a facial image of the user in a case where the captured image is determined to include the possible facial image of the user; and permits the user to enter the vehicle in a case where the captured image is recognized to include the facial image of the user.
