AUTOMATIC LIFT GATE OPENER USING VEHICULAR REAR CAMERA
20220348164 · 2022-11-03 ·

A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle and viewing rear of the vehicle, and an electronic control unit (ECU) having an image processor for processing image data captured by the camera. The vehicular vision system, responsive to processing by the image processor of image data captured by the camera, determines an individual has moved within a threshold distance of the rear of the vehicle. The vehicular vision system, responsive to determining that the individual has moved within the threshold distance of the vehicle, determines whether the individual is an authorized user of the vehicle. Responsive to at least to determining that the individual is an authorized user of the vehicle, a powered rear lift gate mechanism of the vehicle opens a rear lift gate of the vehicle to allow the user access to the interior of the vehicle.

ECO-FRIENDLY VEHICLE AND POWER MANAGEMENT METHOD THEREFOR

Disclosed is an eco-friendly vehicle capable of conveniently canceling a protection mode when the protection mode is entered due to a voltage drop of a low-voltage battery, and a power management method therefor. A power management method for an electrified vehicle may comprise controlling, by a power management controller, an out-vehicle switch from a first mode for changing a locked state to a second mode for battery reset when there is a request for entry into a protection mode for a low-voltage battery from a BMS, and entering the protection mode when the out-vehicle switch is changed to the second mode.

VEHICULAR OBJECT DETECTION AND DOOR OPENING WARNING SYSTEM

A vehicular alert system includes a sensor disposed at a vehicle. The system, using the sensor, determines that a moving object is moving toward the vehicle. Responsive to determining a likelihood the occupant of the vehicle is going to exit the vehicle via the door of the vehicle, and responsive to determining that the detected moving object is moving toward the vehicle, the vehicular alert system (i) determines distance between the detected moving object and the door of the vehicle, and (ii) determines a heading angle of the detected moving object relative to the vehicle. The vehicular alert system determines whether the detected moving object is a threat based at least in part on (i) the determined distance and (ii) the determined heading angle. The vehicular alert system, responsive to determining that the detected moving object is a threat, alerts the occupant of the vehicle.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING CARRIED OBJECTS TO ADAPT VEHICLE ACCESS

System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to adapting vehicle access by detecting a person carrying an object. In one embodiment, a method includes detecting a person near a vehicle for gaining access. The method also includes scanning the person for an object using a radar of the vehicle, wherein information from the radar indicates densities of the person and the object. Upon detecting the object using the densities, the method also includes adapting the access to a compartment of the vehicle.

Fluidic elastomer actuator-based mechanical control systems for vehicle door handles

Systems and methods for a fluidic elastomer actuator-based handle is provided. A processor determines when a person is approaching a vehicle door and, in response to determining a person is approaching the vehicle door, the processor determines if the door handle is necessary based on a determined intent of the person. If the intent is determined to open the door, the processor manipulates a soft robotics material enclosing the door handle into an in-use state to present the handle to the person through the application of one or more stimuli. When not in a rest state, the soft robotics material provides a smooth surface aligned with a surface of the door panel.
