Data transmission for vehicle intrusion device

A vehicle theft-prevention apparatus can include a wireless transceiver, a plurality of sensors configured to sense measurements proximate to a vehicle, and at least one computing device coupled to the plurality of sensors and the wireless transceiver. The at least one computing device can be configured to read a plurality of measurements of the plurality of sensors and determine that at least one event has occurred based on the plurality of measurements. The at least one computing device can store data corresponding to the at least one event on a local storage coupled to the at least one computing device and can transmit, via the wireless transceiver, the data corresponding to the at least one event to a remote service.

AUTOMATED MONITORING, DETECTION, AND REPORTING OF UNAUTHORIZED MOVEMENT AND/OR THEFT OF VEHICLES AND CARGO

A method and an enhanced electronic logging device (ELD) enable a load lock feature of a vehicle that assists with automated theft detection, reporting, and tracking of stolen vehicles/cargo. The processor of the ELD enables the ELD to register the operator MCD to receive notifications generated by a load lock module and present on a display of the ELD at least one selectable option for activating a load lock of the vehicle, the load lock identifying that the operator has parked the vehicle and has triggered the ELD to report any movement of the vehicle that occurs while the load lock is activated. The processor generates and transmits a notification of unauthorized movement or a potential theft of the vehicle in response to receiving an input from the movement detection device indicating that the vehicle is moving or being moved from a parked location while the load lock is activated.

The present teaching relates to method, system, medium, and implementations for detecting sensor tampering. Information is received from an inertial measurement unit (IMU) attached to a structure hosting at least one sensor. The information includes one or more measurements associated with the IMU. The at least one sensor is deployed on a vehicle for sensing surrounding information to facilitate autonomous driving. The one or more measurements are analyzed with respect to pre-determined criteria to detect tampering of the at least one sensor. When the tampering is detected, a response is generated to the event.

Shared vehicle security

A vehicle comprising: a locking mechanism for securing the vehicle; a user input device exposed to the exterior of the vehicle; a transceiver for communicating with a network external to the vehicle; and a processor configured for implementing a public/private key security algorithm and coupled to the transceiver for sending and receiving data by means of the transceiver, and coupled to the locking mechanism for disengaging the locking mechanism to permit access to the vehicle; the processor being configured to: receive from the transceiver a data block including a first token, the first token representing a public key of a user; receive from the user input device a second token; compare the first and second tokens to determine whether the second token is consistent with having been derived from a private key that forms a key pair with the public key; and if that determination is positive, cause the locking mechanism to be disengaged.

Vehicle monitoring and theft detection using location

A vehicle theft-prevention system can include a mobile application that can determine a location of the mobile device. One or more computing devices can be in communication with the mobile application via a network. The mobile application and the at least one computing device configured to determine that the location of the mobile device has moved outside of a geofence associated with a vehicle theft-prevention apparatus. The mobile application and the at least one computing device can cause the vehicle theft-prevention apparatus to change from an unarmed mode to an armed mode.

Load status of transport chassis

In some examples, a system receives sensor data from a sensor of a transport chassis configured to carry a cargo transportation unit (CTU), and determines, based on the sensor data and a profile learned based on past data, whether the transport chassis is loaded with a CTU or cargo.
