SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MACHINE SENSING AND COMMUNICATION
An apparatus and method for monitoring the productivity of a portable machine are provided. The method includes receiving motion data for at least one component of the portable machine from a multi-axis accelerometer, receiving position data for the at least one component from a process parameter sensor communicatively coupled to the at least one component, and determining, based on the received motion data and the received position data that the at least one component is oriented in a predetermined position for productive operation. The method also includes determining an area of productive operation using at least one physical dimension of the at least one component and the received motion data when the at least one component is oriented in the predetermined position for productive operation and incrementing a total area counter based on the determination.
Method for triggering a command in a motor vehicle by means of a data exchange between a control device and an identifier element
The present invention essentially relates to a communication system comprising a communication device mounted in a motor vehicle and at least one mobile device (SP, CID, smart watch), said communication system being intended for providing a data exchange between the communication device and the at least one mobile device (SP, CID, smart watch), characterized in that: the communication device comprises a low-frequency communication interface (BF) and a wireless communication interface (11) using the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol in “advertising” state; and in that the communication device is capable of communicating with said at least one mobile device either in low-frequency mode using the BLE protocol or using only the BLE protocol.
Computing device as a vehicle key
In general, aspects of this disclosure are directed towards techniques for using a computing device to perform the functionality of a vehicle key, so that the computing device may be used to automatically unlock the doors of a vehicle and/or to activate a previously-deactivated keyless ignition system. The computing device may be associated with a vehicle, including sending an identifier associated with the computing device to the vehicle via short-range communication. The computing device may also send to the vehicle, via short-range communication, at least one unlock door signal including an access code verifiable by the vehicle, and wherein receipt of the at least one unlock door signal by the vehicle enables the vehicle to unlock one or more of its doors without further user intervention.
Motor vehicle access control method and access control system
This disclosure relates to an access control method for a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle includes a plurality of access elements, which are automatically moveable between a closed position and an open position. Depending on the at least one detected position of the key element, a prediction is made of which of the plurality of access elements the user is likely to use. This access element is automatically opened. If the prediction turns out to be incorrect, the corresponding one of the plurality of access elements for which the use was originally predicted is returned back from the open position to the closed position. This disclosure further relates to an access control system for a motor vehicle.
METHOD FOR TRIGGERING ACTIONS IN A VEHICLE AND VEHICLE FOR CARRYING OUT TRIGGERED ACTIONS
A method for triggering an action of a vehicle including changing a position of a device relative to the vehicle, detecting the change in the position of the device, and triggering a configurable action in the vehicle based on the detected change in the position of the device.
Apparatus and method for enabling storing of a user input vehicle setting
An apparatus (101) for enabling storing of settings of a vehicle (201), a system, a vehicle (201), a method (300, 400, 500, 600), a computer program (105) and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium (108) are disclosed. The apparatus (101) comprises a processing means and a memory means for storing at least one setting of the vehicle (201) for at least one user. The apparatus (101) is configured to determine that access into a vehicle (201) has been granted in dependence on a first primary identifier having been received from a first primary electronic device (218A) and determine that a first secondary identifier corresponding to a first user of the vehicle (201) has been received from a first secondary electronic device (221). The apparatus (101) is also configured to, in dependence on determining that the first secondary identifier has been received from the first secondary electronic device (221) and that access into the vehicle has been granted in dependence on the first primary identifier having been received from the first primary electronic device (218A), enable storing of a setting of the vehicle (201) for the first user.
Vehicle remote control system
A vehicle-mounted device includes vehicle information detecting unit for detecting an on/off state of vehicle power, relay input/output unit for controlling an external relay configured to make a switch between a starting-disabled state and a starting-enabled state of a vehicle, and vehicle information-associated control unit for controlling the external relay based on a relay control command. The vehicle information-associated control unit controls the external relay based on an elapsed time since a change in the on/off state of vehicle power detected by the vehicle information detecting unit.
Dynamic relay attack prevention using time of flight and RF fingerprinting
Controlled access to a vehicle is provided. Whether time of flight (ToF) between an access device and a controller of the vehicle indicates a relay attack is identified. Whether a radio frequency (RF) fingerprint of the access device indicates a relay attack is identified. Responsive to the RF fingerprint but not the ToF indicating a relay attack, the ToF determination is retried. Passive access is allowed to the vehicle responsive to the retried ToF again indicating no relay attack.
INVENTORY SYSTEM FOR OBJECTS CONTAINED IN A SPACE BOUNDED BY AN ENCLOSURE AS WELL AS AN INVENTORY METHOD IMPLEMENTED BY SUCH AN INVENTORY SYSTEM
An inventory system for objects contained in a space bounded by an enclosure, said system including a tag fixed to each of the objects to be inventoried and a reading point provided with at least one antenna for emitting a wakeup electromagnetic wave confined inside said enclosure so that a tag, on receiving same, becomes active and then emits its identification data intended for said reading point, wherein the system includes means for controlling the emission power of said wakeup electromagnetic wave in accordance with a power-variation model defined by a series of emissions by said or each antenna in stages at power levels different from one stage to another in order to carry out said inventory. The present invention also relates to an inventory method implemented by such an inventory system.
WIRELESS VEHICLE SECURITY MOTION SENSOR WITH THREADED MOUNTING SURFACE AND RELATED METHODS
A vehicle security system may include a vehicle controller and a first wireless communications device coupled thereto, and at least one wireless sensor. The wireless sensor may include a housing having a threaded mounting surface, a motion sensor carried by the housing, a second wireless communications device carried by the housing, and a sensor controller carried by the housing. The sensor controller is configured to determine when motion of the housing exceeds a first threshold, and send a first security alert message to the vehicle controller based thereon via the second and first wireless communications devices, and determine when the first threshold is exceeded for a predetermined time and enter a power saving mode based thereon. The at least one sensor may also include a power source carried by the housing to power the motion sensor, second wireless communications device, and sensor controller.
