SECURITY SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
The invention relates to a security system (1) for a vehicle (2), in particular for integration into the vehicle (2), for locating a mobile device (10) in a surrounding area of the vehicle (2), comprising a transceiver arrangement (100) for providing vehicle communication (FK) of the vehicle (2) with at least one other vehicle (2) in the surrounding area, a processing arrangement (200) for performing the localization of the mobile device (10) at least partially on the basis of the vehicle communication (FK).
Mobile Device-Enhanced Rental Vehicle Returns
A number of techniques are disclosed for making it more convenient and efficient for customers to conduct various rental vehicle transactions. As an example, a technique for performing an automated pickup of a rental vehicle using a mobile device is disclosed. As another example, a technique for performing an automated return administration of a rental vehicle using a mobile device is disclosed. As another example, a technique for permitting customer to select a particular rental vehicle for a rental vehicle transaction using a mobile device is disclosed. Also disclosed is a technique for permitting a customer to keylessly start a rental vehicle using a machine-sensible item such as his/her mobile device without requiring the customer to possess a smart key.
DOOR HANDLE, VEHICLE LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME, AND OPERATION METHOD OF THE VEHICLE LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
A vehicle door handle including an RFID module and a button module cooperates with a vehicle controller and a remote control. The button module triggers the RFID module to transmit a querying code to the remote control upon being pressed. The remote control transmits a confirmation code and a remote ID code to the RFID module, and the RFID module determines whether the confirmation code corresponds to the querying code. If yes, the RFID module further forwards the remote ID code to the controller in order for the controller to determine whether the remote ID code is identical with a pre-stored ID code, and to control a lock actuator to switch from a locking position to an unlocking position, or vice versa, when it is determined that the remote ID code is identical with the pre-stored ID code.
VEHICLE REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM
A vehicle-mounted device includes vehicle information detecting unit for detecting an on/off state of vehicle power, relay input/output unit for controlling an external relay configured to make a switch between a starting-disabled state and a starting-enabled state of a vehicle, and vehicle information-associated control unit for controlling the external relay based on a relay control command. The vehicle information-associated control unit controls the external relay based on an elapsed time since a change in the on/off state of vehicle power detected by the vehicle information detecting unit.
Collecting battery pack state information
Systems of an electrical vehicle and the operations thereof are provided that use identifiers and sensed power source parameters to determine whether a rule, such as a warranty or licensing requirement, has been violated.
Process for Detection of a Portable User Device in a Predetermined Zone on the Inside of or on the Outside of a Vehicle by Ultra High Frequency, Associated Detection Device and Associated User Device
A process for detecting a portable user device in a predetermined zone on the inside or outside of a vehicle by a detection device onboard the vehicle. The high-frequency, BLE type communication includes a first signaling mode and a second communication mode, the first mode including: positioning the portable device at a predetermined fixed distance from the detection device, transmitting a signal by the detection device with predetermined transmission power on a channel. As long as the detection device is receiving a response signal from the portable device, repeating transmission of the signal at the same transmission power on other channels, otherwise, repeating transmission of the signal on a channel with reduced transmission power, and if the detection device no longer receives a response signal, comparing the transmission power to a predetermined threshold transmission power, and applying a correction to the transmission power during the second mode.
Tamper security systems and methods for vehicles
A passive entry/passive start (PEPS) system includes a communication gateway configured to transmit a ping signal based on at least one of a predetermined period and a predetermined transmission power level. The PEPS system includes at least one sensor configured to receive the ping signal and measure a physical characteristic of the ping signal. The PEPS system includes a central module configured to receive the measured physical characteristic of the ping signal, determine a lower threshold and an upper threshold associated with the at least one sensor, and compare the measured physical characteristic of the ping signal to the lower threshold and the upper threshold. In response to determining that the measured physical characteristic is less than the lower threshold and greater than the upper threshold, the central module is further configured to notify a portable device that the at least one sensor has been tampered with.
User-adjusted display devices and methods of operating the same
A device includes a microprocessor and a computer readable medium coupled to the microprocessor. The computer readable medium includes instructions stored thereon that cause the microprocessor to receive output from at least one sensor monitoring an interior space of a vehicle and determine, based on the received output, a condition of an occupant in the interior space of the vehicle. The instructions cause the microprocessor to determine, based on the determined condition of the occupant, to alter a first presentation of information displayed to a display device of the vehicle to a second presentation of the information displayed to the display device. The instructions case the microprocessor to render the second presentation of the information to the display device of the vehicle to replace the first presentation of the information displayed to the display device of the vehicle.
AMBIENT RF BACKSCATTER COMMUNICATION FOR VEHICLE REMOTE CONTROL AND SENSING
A vehicle communicates with a remote key fob while ensuring an RF environment is sufficient to maintain adequate power from an RF-harvesting power supply that allows the fob to operate without a battery. The vehicle has a receiver adapted to detect a backscatter communication signal from the fob. A harvesting emulator in the vehicle is responsive to ambient RF around the vehicle to duplicate a concurrent response of the fob power supply. A vehicle-powered RF transmitter is activated to broadcast energizing RF radiation around the vehicle when the duplicated response is below a threshold.
System and method for associating user and vehicle information for communication to a third party
A vehicle is provided that detects a first presence of a driver in a vehicle, based upon detecting the first presence, provides a user interface for the driver to enter first user information, information, and communicates the first sensitive information to a vendor to authenticate the combines the first user information and the vehicle information to generate the first sensitive driver to enable the vendor to perform a financial transaction with the driver using the first sensitive information while the vehicle is in motion. The processor is programmed to initiate automatically, on behalf of the driver, the financial transaction with the vendor in response to a sensed state or location of the vehicle.
