OPERATOR PROTECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method includes receiving a request to assume control of a vehicle generated by a candidate operator via a first communication pathway. The method obtains a key from an onboard controller of the vehicle and communicates the key to the candidate operator via a second communication pathway that is different from the first communication pathway. The method determines the candidate operator to be a confirmed operator based at least in part on obtaining the key from the candidate operator via the first communication pathway.
ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM FOR A MOTORIZED TWO-WHEELED VEHICLE
An anti-theft security method is described for a two-wheel motorized vehicle (6), e.g. an electric bicycle, wherein the vehicle comprises an electric motor (M) to assist or carry out the propulsion of the vehicle. An accessory (10) detachable from the vehicle comprises an electronic circuit (40) for receiving a signal in wireless manner. An electronic processor (U1, U2) configured to control the motor when the accessory (10) is mounted on the vehicle (6).
The security action consists in that the accessory (10) emits a signal (S1) to unconditionally unlock the operation of the electronic processor (U2) or of the motor (M) only if, through the electronic circuit (40), it recognizes a wireless signal coming from an external portable electronic device (70).
VEHICLE OCCUPANT DETECTION
A vehicle occupant detection system and method for using the same. The vehicle occupant detection system includes: a controller; a plurality of life detection sensors, wherein the plurality of life detection sensors are installed within an interior cabin of a mass-transit vehicle and are each associated with a life detection zone; a local warning system having at least one human-machine interface (HMI) output device; and a vehicle interface that communicatively couples the controller to a vehicle electrical system of the mass-transit vehicle. The vehicle occupant detection system is configured to: (i) acquire sensor data by scanning the life detection zone using the plurality of life detection sensors; (ii) determine whether an occupant is present based on the sensor data; and (iii) provide an indication to a user that an occupant is present using the HMI output device when it is determined that an occupant is present.
Automated monitoring, detection, and reporting of unauthorized movement and/or theft of vehicles and cargo
A method and an enhanced electronic logging device (ELD) enable a load lock feature of a vehicle that assists with automated theft detection, reporting, and tracking of stolen vehicles/cargo. The processor of the ELD enables the ELD to register the operator MCD to receive notifications generated by a load lock module and present on a display of the ELD at least one selectable option for activating a load lock of the vehicle, the load lock identifying that the operator has parked the vehicle and has triggered the ELD to report any movement of the vehicle that occurs while the load lock is activated. The processor generates and transmits a notification of unauthorized movement or a potential theft of the vehicle in response to receiving an input from the movement detection device indicating that the vehicle is moving or being moved from a parked location while the load lock is activated.
WORKING MACHINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND WORKING MACHINE
A working machine management system includes a working machine having a prime mover and a control unit and a key device which is detachable from the working machine and is used for operating the working machine. The key device stores first authentication information for identifying a drivable working machine and second authentication information necessary for the prime mover to continuously operate. When the key device is attached to the working machine, the control unit confirms validity of the key device based on the first authentication information, compares input information from the outside with the second authentication information to determine whether the prime mover can be operated if the key device is valid, and controls operation of the prime mover according to the determination result.
AUTOMATED MONITORING, DETECTION, AND REPORTING OF UNAUTHORIZED MOVEMENT AND/OR THEFT OF VEHICLES AND CARGO
A method and an enhanced electronic logging device (ELD) enable a load lock feature of a vehicle that assists with automated theft detection, reporting, and tracking of stolen vehicles/cargo. The processor of the ELD enables the ELD to register the operator MCD to receive notifications generated by a load lock module and present on a display of the ELD at least one selectable option for activating a load lock of the vehicle, the load lock identifying that the operator has parked the vehicle and has triggered the ELD to report any movement of the vehicle that occurs while the load lock is activated. The processor generates and transmits a notification of unauthorized movement or a potential theft of the vehicle in response to receiving an input from the movement detection device indicating that the vehicle is moving or being moved from a parked location while the load lock is activated.

An anti-theft system for a working machine, includes a communication device disposed on the working machine, the communication device having a first communicator, a mobile terminal having a storage to store authentication information, and a second communicator, and a control device disposed on the working machine, the control device having an authentication processor to execute an authentication processing that determines whether to provide a permission of driving a driving portion of the working machine based on the authentication information. The first communicator sends a beacon to the mobile terminal before the authentication processing of the authentication processor is executed. The second communicator sends the authentication information to the communication device after receiving the beacon, the authentication information being stored by the storage. The authentication processor executes the authentication processing, based on the authentication information received, after the communication device receives the authentication information.
LOCK DEVICE FOR MOTORIZED EQUIPMENT
The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to an anti-theft device for use with a motorized vehicle, such as a riding lawn mower. The device comprises a main body defined by first and second ends. Each end of the device comprises a pair of arms, each with a distal end and a proximal end. The distal end of each arm includes an aperture sized and shaped to allow a lock or other securing element to pass therethrough. For example, with riding lawn mowers, the disclosed device can be used to lock the mower handles in an off position, so that the mower cannot be started until the device is removed.
