Brake assembly

A brake assembly adapted to be mounted to the flange of an axle housing. The brake assembly includes a stationary plate having a plurality of threaded holes therein. The brake assembly also includes a mounting sleeve positioned adjacent to the axle housing flange opposite the stationary plate. A plurality of holes are provided through the mounting sleeve and are aligned with the threaded holes in the stationary plate. A bolt is received through each of the holes in the mounting sleeve and the aligned holes in the axle housing flange and the threaded holes in the stationary plate to secure the brake to the axle housing. The mounting sleeve may be provided in two or more separate pieces in order to facilitate installation.

PARKING BRAKE APPARATUS

A drive unit for actuating a brake device by a driver's operation, when a vehicle is parked or stopped, is disposed independently in a trailing arm for each of right and left rear wheels. Thus, the drive unit for actuating the brake device via a wire when the vehicle is stopped or parked can be loaded, even if the space of the vehicle is tight. That is, the drive unit for actuating the brake device via the wire when the vehicle is stopped or parked can be loaded, regardless of the space of the vehicle.

Axially or radially actuated eddy current brake with integrated friction brake

A magnetic brake assembly for use with a wheel rim is described. The brake assembly includes a rotor secured to rotate with the rim and a stator secured to be rotationally stationary relative to the rotor. One of the rotor and stator has an electrically conductive body and the other of the rotor and stator has a magnetic array including a plurality of magnets configured to generate a magnetic flux. An actuator is connected to at least one of the electrically conductive body and magnetic array to selectively effect a brake mode and a non-brake mode. In the brake mode, the magnetic array induces eddy currents in the electrically conductive body to generate a magnetic braking force when the rim rotates above a threshold speed and in the non-brake mode, the induced eddy currents cause a negligible or no magnetic braking force as the rim rotates above the threshold speed.

VEHICLE ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR BRAKING

A vehicle arrangement for braking comprising at least a first electric motor comprising a first shaft being arranged to be mechanically connected to a drive shaft of the vehicle via a gearbox, and a braking compressor comprising a compressor shaft being arranged to be mechanically connected to the first shaft of the first electric motor via a compressor clutch, such that the first shaft drives the compressor shaft, wherein the first shaft is connected to the gearbox via a first motor clutch and a first gearbox shaft, the arrangement further comprising a mass flow rate controlling means arranged for controlling the air mass flow rate through the compressor. A method for controlling a vehicle arrangement, a method for braking a shaft of an electric motor, a control unit, a vehicle, a computer program and to a computer readable medium.

Vehicle transmissions having a park function

In response to driver selection of PARK, a vehicle transmission is commanded to momentarily select and hold NEUTRAL before PARK, while a vehicle wheel brake is applied. Such an arrangement avoids trapping torque in the driveline, and thus can obviate pawl ‘thump’ when PARK is next disengaged.

Axial piston device

A housing of an axial piston device is provided with a drain port for discharging the retained oil to the outside and a supply oil passage for guiding lubricating oil, which has been supplied from an oil source, toward a first hydraulic axial piston member. The drain port is arranged so as to bring about such a retained-oil level that a second hydraulic axial piston member, which is disposed below the first hydraulic axial piston member, is partially or entirely immersed in the retained oil while the first hydraulic axial piston member is not immersed in the retained oil.
