Method for providing a clamping force generated by an automatic parking brake
A method for providing a clamping force generated by an automatic parking brake includes using a brake motor and a brake piston acting on a brake disk to generate the clamping force. The method guarantees a reliable function of the automatic parking brake even on a loss of clamping force due to a temperature change of the brake disk. The method also minimizes the load on components of the automatic parking brake. After a completed application of the automatic parking brake, a secondary application process is carried out as a function of an activation reaction of the brake motor.
SYSTEMS FOR DISTRIBUTING BRAKING FORCE AND RELATED METHODS
A system includes a controller configured to individually control brake force applied to steered wheels of a vehicle. The controller is configured to release a braking force from a first brake associated with a first steered wheel of the vehicle when the vehicle is stationary, and the controller is further configured to subsequently release a braking force from a second brake of a second steered wheel when the vehicle remains stationary after braking force is released from the first wheel. Methods relate to distributing braking force of a vehicle.

Disclosed herein are an apparatus for controlling a vehicle and method thereof. An apparatus for controlling a vehicle, the apparatus includes an inputter configured to receive a start operation signal from a starter, receive an AVH mode operation signal from an Automatic Vehicle Hold(AVH), receive Wheel information, longitudinal acceleration information and AVH switch information from an Electronic Stability Control(ESC), and a determiner configured to determine whether the AVH mode operation signal is an ON operation signal when the start operation signal is an OFF operation signal, and determines whether the at least one of the wheel information, the longitudinal acceleration information and the AVH switch information is in a normal state when the AVH mode operation signal is the ON operation signal and a controller configured to control an Electronic Parking Brake(EPB) to perform parking in the EPB when the at least one of the wheel information, the longitudinal acceleration information, and the AVH switch information is in the normal state.
VEHICLE AUTOMATIC ENGAGED STOP SYSTEM
A motor vehicle automatic engaged stop system includes an automatic transmission driving at least one wheel and has at least one brake member preventing wheel rotation when engaged and allowing wheel rotation when disengaged. A controller communicates with each of: the brake member to control the brake member; the automatic transmission to control a condition of the automatic transmission, and with a signal device. A brake pedal in communication with the brake member engages the brake member when depressed by a vehicle operator. After the motor vehicle reaches a zero speed the controller energizes the signal device to notify the vehicle operator to release the brake pedal and maintains a vehicle stopped condition with the brake pedal in a released condition and when the motor vehicle is positioned anywhere between uphill and downhill orientation planes.
Method and control apparatus for actuating a braking device in the drive train of a vehicle with an automatic transmission
A method for activating a braking device in the drive train of a vehicle with an automatic gear box, a gear-side parking brake, and a braking system. The vehicle, starting from a parked position with an engaged parking lock, and under the presence of a starting condition, a control apparatus independent from a driver request, controls the braking system to secure against the vehicle rolling away by until the parking lock is released.
Braking force control apparatus for saddle ride vehicle
A braking force control apparatus in a motorcycle, includes a controller which controls a transmission to reduces driving force of an engine by a predetermined speed reduction ratio and transmits the driving force to a drive wheel of a vehicle, a clutch between the engine and the transmission, and brake devices which generate braking force on the wheels. The vehicle is switchable between a normal and a slow speed driving modes. In the slow speed mode the controller detects an inclination pitching angle θ, and causes the brake devices to generate braking force on at least one of the drive wheels when θ≧a predetermined value, then starts switching the clutch to a connected state when a driving operation is input, and gradually releases the braking force once driving force starts to be transmitted to the drive wheel.
System and method for operating a motor vehicle with an electric parking brake
A system and method for operating a motor vehicle with an electric parking brake. The system includes a clutch sensor, generating a clutch sensor signal representing operation of a clutch of the motor vehicle. A gear selection sensor generates a sensor signal indicating a particular gear selection or position of a manual gearbox of the motor vehicle. Using these and if needed other various inputs, the system generates a deactivation signal for releasing the electric parking brake when a clutch operation is detected and the vehicle gearbox is positioned or has a gear selection other than a neutral position of the manual gearbox.
METHOD AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING MACHINE
A method for controlling a machine during a transition from a service brake state to a parking brake includes receiving, by a control module, a request for activating a parking brake assembly. The method also includes transmitting, by the control module, control signals for activating a set of first brakes associated with a service brake assembly, a set of second brakes associated with the service brake assembly, and a clutch assembly. The method further includes controlling, by the control module, the set of first brakes for deactivating the set of first brakes. The method includes controlling, by the control module, the parking brake assembly for activating the parking brake assembly. The method also includes controlling, by the control module, the set of second brakes for deactivating the set of second brakes. The method further includes controlling, by the control module, the clutch assembly for deactivating the clutch assembly.
Vehicle control device
A parking brake control device is a control device for a vehicle used in a vehicle on which a shift by wire system and an electric parking brake system are mounted. A function of automatically operating an electric parking brake without an operation of the driver of the vehicle is referred to as an EPB automatic operation function, and a request by the driver for disabling the EPB automatic operation function is referred to as a disabling request. The parking brake control device includes a disabling determination part configured to determine a presence or absence of the disabling request, a vehicle stop determination part configured to determine whether the vehicle is stopped, a slope determination part configured to determine whether the vehicle is located on a slope, and an EPB automatic operation part. The EPB automatic operation part operates the electric parking brake when the vehicle is stopped on the slope even if the disabling request is made.
Vehicle control apparatus and method for controlling the same
A vehicle control apparatus and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The vehicle control apparatus includes an inputter, a determiner, and a controller. The inputter receives an automatic vehicle hold (AVH) switch operation signal from an AVH device, and receives a current vehicle movement value sensed by a sensing device and a current vehicle brake force value of a brake device that generates brake force in response to activation of the AVH device. The determiner determines whether the received AVH switch operation signal transitions from an ON state to an AVH entry state, determines whether vehicle movement occurs on the basis of the received current vehicle movement value during an AVH retention time in the AVH entry state, and determines that the current vehicle brake force value is in an abnormal state when vehicle movement occurs. The controller receives the current vehicle movement value and the current vehicle brake force value, and transmits a command for judgment to the determiner.
