LOCOMOTIVE INCLUDING OPERATOR FATIGUE MONITORING SYSTEM

A locomotive is disclosed. The locomotive includes a car body, including an operator cabin, a power source, and an operator health monitor within the operator cabin, the operator health monitor configured to monitor at least one health condition associated with the operator and configured to generate an operator health signal associated with the at least one condition. The locomotive includes an operator warning system within the operator cabin, configured to present the operator with an operator warning in response to an operator warning signal, and an electronic controller. The electronic controller may be configured to determine an operator fatigue score based on, at least, the operator health signal, determine if the operator fatigue score exceeds a warning threshold, and transmit the operator warning signal to the operator warning system if the operator fatigue score exceeds the warning threshold.

Assistance system for a vehicle

An assistance System for a vehicle for providing an emergency stop assistance function that includes an execution device to execute the emergency stop assistance function using at least one of a plurality of activation stages; a detection device for automatic detection of driver inactivity, in order to activate the emergency stop assistance function using a first stage selection of the activation stages; a triggering device for monitoring an operating element of an electrical parking brake or a parking lock of a transmission of the vehicle, in order to activate the emergency assistance function using a second stage selection of the activation stages, which differs from the first stage selection, in the case of a manual activation of the operating element.

A method for automatically emergency stopping a motor vehicle from a starting speed to a standstill by a braking device of the motor vehicle is provided. The braking device is actuated to carry out a delay profile with at least two delay phases. During a delay increase phase the delay until a threshold delay is increased and during a delay decrease phase, lasting until standstill, the delay is reduced to zero. The temporal courses of the delay are determined during the delay increase and the delay decrease at least sectionally as nth degree polynomials, where n>0, depending on the starting speed, in such a way that a stopping duration, which represents a time duration necessary for emergency stopping, does not fall below a predetermined minimum stopping duration and a distance covered during the stopping duration does not exceed a predetermined maximum stopping distance.

DRIVE ASSISTANCE DEVICE FOR SADDLE TYPE VEHICLE

A drive assistance device (24) for a saddle type vehicle (1) includes a ride sensor (37) configured to detect a ride attitude of a rider (J), a vehicle body behavior generating part (25) configured to generate a behavior on a vehicle body by a prescribed output, and a controller (27) configured to control driving of the vehicle body behavior generating part (25), the vehicle body behavior generating part (25) includes a brake device (BR) configured to brake a host vehicle, and wherein, when the brake device (BR) is actuated regardless of an operation of the rider (J), the controller (27) actuates the brake device (BR) according to the ride attitude of the rider (J) detected by the ride sensor (37).

STOP ASSIST DEVICE

A stop assist device is equipped with an operation switch that is operated to activate and deactivate a hazard lamp of a vehicle. The stop assist device starts stop assist control for stopping the vehicle through automatic deceleration of the vehicle and starts activating the hazard lamp from an abnormality detection timing when it is determined that an abnormality condition that is fulfilled when a driver falls into an abnormal state in which the driver is unable to drive the vehicle is fulfilled. The stop assist device continues to perform stop assist control when the operation switch is operated before the lapse of a predetermined invalid time from the abnormality detection timing during the performance of stop assist control, and ends stop assist control when the operation switch is operated after the lapse of the invalid time from the abnormality detection timing during the performance of stop assist control.

Method for the open-loop or closed-loop control of a driver assistance system of a vehicle, and driver assistance system

A method for open-loop or closed-loop control of a driver assistance system of a vehicle, including: a) using a first sensor device to detect from a roadway at least one lane and a roadway marking that separates the lane from an edge of the roadway; b) using a second sensor device to detect operation of at least one operating device of the vehicle that influences the driving dynamics of the vehicle by virtue of the driver; c) using steering actuators and/or brake actuators to influence the driving dynamics of the vehicle; and d) outputting, if there is a threat of the vehicle leaving the lane, as detected by the first sensor device, a first warning signal. A related driver assistance system is also described.
