BRAKE MODULE FOR A HYDRAULICALLY BRAKED TRACTOR VEHICLE WHICH CAN BE COUPLED TO A PNEUMATICALLY BRAKED TRAILER VEHICLE
A brake module for a hydraulically braked tractor coupled to a pneumatically braked trailer has a trailer control valve connected via hydraulic control inlet to a hydraulic pressure line leaving a master brake cylinder, and via pneumatic inlet to a compressed air reservoir. Hydraulic control pressure determines pneumatic output pressure level at a trailer control valve pneumatic outlet. The brake module has a break-off prevention module which, if the control line leaks or separates from the trailer control valve relative to the trailer brake system, closes a supply pressure coupling head supply line and causes trailer brake system venting. The break-off prevention module has a pneumatic supply pressure inlet and a pneumatic tear-off control pressure inlet connected to the air reservoir independently of trailer control valve pressure inlets. Supply pressure inlet supply pressure passes through the break-off prevention module and feeds to a trailer control valve pneumatic supply pressure inlet
HYDRAULIC TRAILER BRAKE CIRCUIT FOR ADJUSTABLE GAIN AND IMPROVED STABILITY
A braking system of a work machine includes a pressurized fluid supply, a base valve fluidly coupled to the supply, a proportional control valve fluidly coupled to the supply, and a fluid output configured to be fluidly coupled to a braking system of a trailer. A first fluid path is selectively fluidly coupling the supply to the fluid output via the base valve, and a second fluid path is selectively fluidly coupling the supply to the fluid output via the proportional control valve. The base valve includes a predefined fixed gain and the proportional control valve includes an adjustable ratio.
Hydraulic trailer brake circuit for adjustable gain and improved stability

A first fluid path is selectively fluidly coupling the supply to the fluid output via the base valve, and a second fluid path is selectively fluidly coupling the supply to the fluid output via the proportional control valve. Apparatus and method to dynamically adjust electronic braking using TPMS
The dynamic footprint of a tire is received and the dynamic footprint is determined by and received from a tire pressure monitoring (TPM) sensor. A weight or load of the secondary vehicle attached to the primary vehicle is calculated based at least in part on the footprint. Instructions to alter the operation of the braking system of the secondary vehicle based on the calculated weight or load are transmitted to the secondary vehicle.
TRAILER CONTROL VALVE OF A TOWING VEHICLE
A trailer control valve for controlling a hydraulic dual-line brake system of a trailer vehicle has an inlet for a hydraulic supply line of the towing vehicle, a tank outlet for an unpressurized return-flow line of the towing vehicle, a brake pressure outlet, and a supplemental pressure outlet. The brake pressure outlet can be connected in a stepped manner with an electronically controlled brake control valve to the supply pressure inlet or to the tank outlet. The supplemental pressure outlet can connect using a valve arrangement so that an outlet pressure of the supply pressure is reduced to a supplemental pressure at the supply pressure inlet or at the tank outlet. The valve arrangement has a pressure-limiting valve and a shut-off valve arranged in series. The shut-off valve can be a 3/2-way valve, which when not energized, the supplemental pressure outlet is connected to the tank outlet.
BRAKE RETARDER VALVE
A brake retarder valve for a tractor-trailer combination includes a valve housing and a valve assembly. The valve assembly includes a poppet valve biased by a spring and a gravity spool. The valve assembly is selectively operable between the operative closed configuration and an open configuration in response to a resultant of the fluid pressure between a trailer axle brake and a tractor axle brake. The tractor axle brake is actuated with a time delay from actuation of the trailer axle brake. This delay is actuation of the tractor axle brake prevents jack knifing of the trailer onto the tractor in a tractor-trailer combination, thereby ensuring safety during operation of a tractor-trailer combination.
Method for the brake control of a vehicle combination
A method of brake control of a vehicle combination (2) composed of a tractor vehicle (4) with an electronically controlled braking system (5) and a trailer vehicle (6, 8) with a pneumatically controlled pneumatic braking system (7, 9), involves introducing the brake control pressure (p.sub.BC) of the trailer vehicle (6, 8) into a tractor brake control line (19) extending to a tractor vehicle-side brake coupling head (26) via an electronically controlled trailer control valve (13) of the tractor vehicle (4). At the beginning of a braking operation, a pressure pulse (34) exceeding a target brake control pressure (p.sub.BC_soll) is introduced into the tractor brake control line (19). The volume of a trailer brake control line (28, 29, 32) coupled to the brake coupling head (26) is ascertained, and the absolute value (p.sub.PI) and/or the duration (t.sub.PI) of the pressure pulse (34) introduced are/is established depending on the ascertained volume.

System for providing speed-dependent control of a brake of a hauled unit of a work vehicle and related valve assembly
A system for controlling a brake of a unit hauled by a work vehicle may generally include a valve assembly. When a speed of the work vehicle exceeds a predetermined speed threshold, the valve assembly may be configured to allow the brake to be actuated when first and second brake pedals of the work vehicle are depressed, either individually or simultaneously. However, when the speed of the work vehicle is less than the predetermined speed threshold, the valve assembly may only be configured to allow the brake to be actuated when both of the first and second brake pedals are depressed simultaneously.
Mechanically Driven Tire Pressure Controlling Device, in Particular for a Commercial Vehicle Trailer
A tire pressure controlling device for a tire of a vehicle wheel filled with compressed air, includes a control valve unit for filling the tire with compressed air and/or venting compressed air therefrom. The control valve unit is supplied from a compressor for generating the tire filling pressure. The compressor for compressing air drawn in from the atmosphere is driven by the mechanical rotary movement of the vehicle wheel, as a transmission disposed therebetween transmits the rotary driving movement of the vehicle wheel to the drive shaft of the compressor unit.
