Air-Dryer Cartridge and Helical Spring for an Air-Dryer Cartridge
An air-dryer cartridge for a compressed air preparation system of a utility vehicle includes a drying agent container having a first housing part and a second housing part movable relative to each other, a cartridge housing for holding the drying agent container, and a helical spring is arranged to preload the second housing part in a direction to reduce a volume of the drying agent container. The helical spring has multiple coils, including a first outer coil at a first end of the helical spring and a second outer coil at a second end of the helical spring. At least one of the first and second outer coils has a greater diameter than inner coils of the helical spring between the first and the second end of the helical spring.
APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING AN AIR COMPRESSOR TO EXPEL MOISTURE FROM THE AIR COMPRESSOR
An apparatus for controlling a vehicle air compressor comprising an input for receiving a signal indicative of a compressor conditioning mode from the vehicle air compressor. The vehicle air compressor is controlled to operate at at least one of normal operating speed, above normal operating speed and below normal operating speed in response to the signal indicative of the compressor. The apparatus also comprises a data storage unit arranged to, when the vehicle is in a driving state, store the signals from the input. The apparatus further comprises a processing unit arranged to control the vehicle air compressor to expel moisture from the vehicle air compressor based upon signals that have been stored over a period of time in the data storage unit.
Bi-directional air delivery system
An air delivery system is operable to on-board compressed air to an associated work vehicle from an associated or auxiliary source such as for example an external large compressor or air storage tank for assisting a tire inflation system (TIS) of the associated work vehicle to expedite tire inflation particularly when transitioning to a desired raised tire pressure, and is further operable to off-board compressed air from a compressor of the TIS system on-board the associated work vehicle for delivery from the TIS to an associated or external compressed air consuming device such as an implement attached with the associated work vehicle or the like. A bi-directional air delivery retrofit kit provides on-boarding and off-boarding of an extra-vehicular compressed air product relative to an associated work vehicle. A dual source air delivery system provides pressurized air to an air storage device from on-board and off-board pressurized air sources.
Air dryer control using humidity
A railway air dryer that switches the flow and counter flow of air through each of two desiccant towers in response to the actual humidity of air being dried by the air dryer. The air dryer includes a humidity sensor, a temperature sensor in the outlet air, and a temperature sensor in the inlet air stream to determine when to initiate the regeneration of the desiccant. The air dryer system is generally specified to provide some minimum drying performance, for example 40 C. dew point suppression.
Heat-exchange dryer apparatus, system and method
Various embodiments of a heat-exchange dryer apparatus are disclosed. In one embodiment, a heat-exchange dryer apparatus includes a desiccant cartridge comprising desiccant material, a purge-air reservoir secured to the desiccant cartridge, and a compressed-air conduit disposed inside the purge-air reservoir. In another embodiment, a vehicle air-brake system includes an air compressor, a desiccant cartridge comprising desiccant material, and a heat exchange dryer apparatus disposed between the compressor and the desiccant. The temperature of the compressed air is decreased while the temperature of the purge air is increased and the desiccant adsorbs a greater amount of contaminants form the compressed air for improved drying.
COMPRESSED AIR PREPARATION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING SAME
The invention relates to a compressed air preparation device for rail vehicles or utility vehicles, comprising a compressed air inlet, to which an air compressor can be connected, a compressed air outlet, which is connected to the compressed air inlet via a compressed air duct, and an air drying device arranged in the compressed air duct. In the event that the air compressor is switched off, the compressed air duct is vented upstream of the air drying device so that, at restart, the air compressor can start against a reduced counterpressure.
Filter and Oil Catch Apparatus
A filter for an oil catch apparatus is provided. The oil catch apparatus is capable of efficiently extracting oil from air flowing through the oil catch apparatus while being of compact size. The filter includes a cylindrically wound main filter unit, a first keep member for keeping one end of the main filter unit, and a second keep member for keeping the other end of the main filter unit. Air flowing into the main filter unit from an opening formed in the first keep member is cleared of impurities upon passing through the main filter unit, and exits out of the main filter unit.
Air Dryer Cartridge
An air dryer cartridge, in particular for a compressed air treatment system of a commercial vehicle, includes a cartridge housing having a closed housing cover, an inner housing arranged in the cartridge housing, a desiccant accommodated in a space between the cartridge housing and the inner housing, a filter arrangement arranged inside the cartridge housing and positioned in the compressed air stream upstream of the desiccant in relation to normal operation of the air dryer cartridge, and a bypass for bypassing the filter device. A non-return valve, which blocks a compressed air stream in the direction towards the desiccant and allows a compressed air stream in the direction away from the desiccant, is arranged in the bypass. The non-return valve is formed in one piece together with the inner housing.
Oil separator and drain discharge system
An oil separator which can discharge collected liquid in a short time and a collected liquid discharge system are provided. This oil separator performs gas-liquid separation on fluid containing oil and collects liquid, which contains oil. The oil separator is provided with an oil trap, which traps liquid, a reservoir, which stores the liquid trapped by the oil trap, a collected liquid discharge port, which discharges the collected liquid stored in the reservoir, and a three-way valve.
Device for the detachable fastening of a drying agent cartridge to a housing of a compressed-air treatment installation of a vehicle
A device is provided for the detachable fastening of a drying agent cartridge to a housing of a compressed-air treatment installation of a vehicle, in particular of a utility vehicle. The device includes a crimped formation on the cartridge base of the drying agent cartridge, which crimped formation has an abutment surface, and an insertion opening on the housing of the compressed-air treatment installation, into which insertion opening the crimped formation can be inserted at least in sections, and in which insertion opening the crimped formation, in the inserted state, is secured in an axial direction by way of a form fit.
