SMART GLADHAND WITH WIRELESS ACTUATION AND REPORTING
A gladhand assembly includes a gladhand that rotates about a first axis with respect to a sealed housing. The sealed housing includes a lever affixed to the first axis to rotate as the gladhand rotates. A stop within the sealed housing may be configured into an engaged position in which it engages with the lever to lock the gladhand into a fixed position in which the gladhand cannot be rotated about the first axis. In addition, the stop may be configured into a retracted position to permit the lever to rotate and allow the gladhand to be rotated into a deployed position.
Fluid reservoir with a stop valve
A fluid container for supplying a consuming device with a working fluid, including at least one connector piece having a shut-off valve arranged therein for preventing undesired escaping of the working fluid from the fluid container. In order to increase safety against undesired emptying of the fluid container, it is provided that the valve closure body, in the closed state of the shut-off valve, is accommodated in the fluid container completely inside a contour formed by an outer edge of the connector piece, and provision is made, for support against the valve closure body, of a support, which, upon insertion of the connector piece into the receiving seat, engages at least regionally into the connecting duct and in this way displaces the valve closure body in the connecting duct.
TOWABLE CRASH-ATTENUATING VEHICLE
A towable crash-attenuating vehicle is shown having a frame; at least two axles coupled to the frame, each of the axles having wheels attached thereto; a ballast coupled to the frame; deflection shields coupled to the right and left sides of the frame, wherein the deflection shields cover the frame and a majority of the wheels on each side of the vehicle; a tow connection coupled to the front of the frame; an impact attenuator coupled to the rear of the frame; wherein the vehicle is provided with a brake system, and wherein the vehicle is provided with an mechanism for locking and unlocking the brake system.
COMBINED DIRT COLLECTOR AND CUTOUT COCK HAVING CONTROLLED VENTING
A combined dirt collector and cutout cock (CDC & COC) device for a rail car control to prevent unintentional re-pressurization of the control valve and rail car braking system. The device has an inlet configured for interconnection to an air supply, an outlet configured for interconnection to a control valve of a rail car, a valve moveable between a first position where an inlet is connected to an outlet and a second position where the inlet is isolated from the outlet, and a control valve vent positioned downstream of the valve and configured to open in response to the valve being moved into the second position. The valve may include a ball having a first passageway for selectively connecting and disconnecting the inlet from the outlet and a second passageway formed therethrough that is positioned to interconnect the outlet with the vent when the valve is in the second position.
TUBE FITTING AND TUBE EQUIPPED WITH TUBE FITTING
A tube fitting includes: a zinc-based plated layer; and a resin coating layer that is positioned at an outermost surface at an outer side of the zinc-based plated layer and includes a polyethylene substance, a lubricant, and solid particles. When a fitting average plating thickness t relating to the thickness of the zinc-based plated layer is defined, 2.1<t<19.7 is true.
BRAKE APPARATUS
Disclosed herein a brake apparatus may include a first motor configured to provide a rotational force to a first brake to brake a first wheel of a vehicle; a first drive configured to control a driving current of the first motor; a second motor configured to provide a rotational force to a second brake to brake a second wheel of the vehicle; a second drive configured to control a driving current of the second motor; a first processor connected to the first and second drives through a first network; and a second processor connected to the first and second drives through a second network separated from the first network.
Electrical connections using vehicle brake lines
An apparatus includes a first electrical component, a second electrical component, and a brake line. At least part of an electrical connection between the first electrical component and the second electrical component is defined by the brake line. The electrical connection may be a secondary electrical connection for rerouting an electrical path. The brake line may include first and second tubular conductive structures for defining first and second electrical connections. A repeater may be used to retransmit a data signal along the brake line. A nonconductive layer may be disposed on a tubular conductive structure of the brake line. A controller may switch operation of the brake line between an electrical power transmission mode and a data signal transmission mode. A controller may be operable determine a connected state or a disconnected state of the brake using the electrical connection.
Service Brake Device with Quick Air Release Valve
A service brake device for vehicles is provided which permits rapid venting of a service brake pressure chamber. The service brake device includes at least one pneumatic service brake device with at least one piston and/or a diaphragm. The piston and/or diaphragm delimits the service brake pressure chamber on one side which can be supplied with compressed air from a brake line for applying the service brake and can be purged of compressed air for releasing the service brake, delimits a spring chamber on the other side which receives a spring that prestresses the piston and/or the diaphragm in the release position of the service brake. The pressure chamber includes a pressure connection communicating with the brake line. A quick air release valve between the brake line and the pressure chamber is arranged to connect the brake line to the pressure chamber when the pressure in the brake chamber is greater than in the pressure chamber, and to connect the pressure chamber to the spring chamber when the pressure in the pressure chamber is greater than the brake line pressure.
Hydraulic bicycle system
A normally closed port valve seals a hydraulic hose connection port of a hydraulic bicycle component. Connection of an end of a hydraulic hose assembly to the port opens the valve, placing the assembly's hydraulic fluid chamber in fluid communication with the interior of the hose assembly. A hydraulic cylinder of the assembly is in fluid communication with the chamber. A spring may be used to bias the valve to a closed condition and simultaneously to bias a brake actuating piston to a non-actuated position.
UNION SCREW FOR A PIPELINE PROVIDED WITH AT LEAST ONE FLANGE, IN PARTICULAR A BRAKE PIPE
A union screw (1) for pipes (2) provided with at least one flare (21) comprises a metal base body (10) which accommodates the pipe (20). The union screw (1) further comprises a screw head (12), a threaded portion (13), a contact portion (15) which is configured to abut the flare (21) of the pipe (20), and a functional layer (40) with which the base body (10) is coated at least in the region of the threaded portion (13) and the contact portion (15). The functional layer (40) is multi-layered and consists of at least one base coat (41) and a top coat (42) applied to the base coat (41) at least in some areas. The base coat (41) forms a structure for creating corrosion protection and a far-reaching invariance with regard to the material of the usual friction partners of the union screw (1) which, in addition to a binder, also contains zinc in the form of zinc-containing lamellae (43), which are oriented to lie substantially flat on the base body (10).
