MOTOR VEHICLE HAVING A BRAKE UNIT
A motor vehicle having a bulkhead includes: a brake unit, a housing of which is fastenable to the bulkhead of the motor vehicle. An actuating member for actuation of the brake unit extends through the bulkhead. A radial flange is provided on a housing surface facing toward the bulkhead. On the bulkhead, there is provided at least one corresponding fastening element which at least partially engages around the radial flange.
Spring brake actuator for use in a commercial vehicle and commercial vehicle therewith
A spring brake actuator for a commercial vehicle includes a service brake portion (4) and a spring brake portion (6) that has a housing (8, 108) with a first end (10, 110) proximal to the service brake portion (4), a wall section (12, 112) extending from the first end (10, 110), a second end (14, 114) distal to the service brake portion (4), and a locking mechanism (16, 116) for locking the first and second ends (10, 110, 14, 114) to the wall section (12, 112). The locking mechanism (16, 116) is arranged between the wall section (12, 112) and the second end (14, 114) of the housing (8, 108).
Spring brake pushrod to park diaphragm interface
An interface between an adapter push rod and a parking brake diaphragm seal includes an axial projection at one end of the push rod, a thread extending axially between a free end of the projection and a remainder of the push rod, and a washer having an approximately conical wall extending radially inwardly from an outer circumference of the washer towards a central mounting connection having a radial flange. A nut is threaded over the free end of the projection, and an opening in a hardened element is aligned axially with the projection to receive the projection. A circumferential groove defined in a side of the radial flange forms a boundary between the approximately conical wall and a remainder of the washer, and a portion of the diaphragm seal is pressed by the nut and the hardened element into the circumferential groove to produce a sealing bead.
Master brake cylinder
A master brake cylinder includes a unique mounting arrangement for securing thereof to a firewall of a vehicle and a particular porting arrangement. A cylinder sleeve includes a series of ports that cooperate with movement of the piston allowing for by-passing of the piston at one end position and then movement of the piston past the ports for brake actuation. Additionally a two stage pressure intensifier is provided that is in-line between a master brake cylinder and brake pistons. The intensifier also includes a by-pass position at one end of the movable piston having a differential area between a forward and a rear face of the piston.
AXLE STRUCTURE WITH ASYMMETRICALLY ARRANGED BRAKE CYLINDERS
The invention relates to an axle structure for a motor vehicle, preferably a utility vehicle, for installing a first wheel and a second wheel. The axle structure has a longitudinal axis and defines a vertical reference plane which extends along the longitudinal axis, and the axle structure comprises a first brake cylinder, which preferably has a first central line and is preferably used to brake the first wheel, and a second brake cylinder, which preferably has a second central line and is preferably used to brake the second wheel. The axle structure is characterized in particular in that the first brake cylinder is arranged on one side of the reference plane, and the second brake cylinder is arranged on the other side of the reference plane.
Unitary bracket for mounting a brake assembly and brake actuator
A bracket for a brake assembly and a brake actuator includes a unitary body including a tube configured to receive a camshaft of the brake assembly and an actuator mounting arm disposed proximate a first end of the tube and configured to receive the brake actuator. In some embodiments, the tube includes one or more helical ribs formed on a radially inner surface. The bracket further includes either a brake spider or a brake spider mounting flange disposed proximate a second end of the tube. In either embodiment, material may be omitted in various locations to reduce the weight of the bracket. The bracket may be formed through an additive manufacturing process and in a manner that achieve at least one of a predetermined torsional stiffness and attenuation of a predetermined natural frequency.
Caliper bracket of vehicle disk brake
A caliper bracket of a vehicle disk brake includes an axle coupling part, an extension part, a caliper attaching part and a swing arm coupling part. The axle coupling part is disposed on an opposite side to a disk rotor and is attached to a rear wheel axle passing through a center of the disk rotor. The extension part is extending from the axle coupling part. The swing arm coupling part is provided on the other side part of the extension part in the longitudinal direction and is coupled to a swing arm. The extension part is formed to linearly extend from the axle coupling part, and the swing arm coupling part is formed to have a cuboid shape protruding toward the opposite side to the disk rotor and capable of fitting with a coupling groove member provided for the swing arm.
Splined Drum and Electric Motor Engagement Assembly
The rotor of an electric motor unit has a web portion partially enclosing the remainder of the unit and terminating in a circumferentially extending rim. The brake drum defines an engagement surface for drum brake linings, and has an outboard end defining a flange securable to the wheel hub. The brake drum also includes an open inboard end, partly covered over by a dust guard, and a circumferential wall extending between the outboard and inboard ends and surrounding the engagement surface. By way of keys and slots or recesses, a reinforcing ring interlocks the circumferentially extending rim of the web portion and the circumferential brake drum wall. The reinforcing ring is secured to the circumferentially extending rim and to the wall of the brake drum at a location disposed axially between the rim of the web portion and the brake drum lining engagement surface.
SPRING BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH DIAPHRAGM RETAINER
