Exercise system and method
A method for displaying archived exercise classes comprising displaying information about archived exercise classes that can be accessed by a first user via a computer network on a display screen at a first location, wherein the first user can select among a plurality of archived classes, outputting digital video and audio content comprising the selected archived class, detecting a performance parameter for the first user at a particular point in the selected class, displaying the performance parameter on the display screen, and displaying performance parameters from a second user at a second location on the display screen such that at least one of the performance parameters from the first user and at least one of the performance parameters from the second user at the same point in the class are presented for comparison.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ESTIMATING AND PREDICTING EMOTIONAL STATES AND AFFECTS AND PROVIDING REAL TIME FEEDBACK
Systems and methods for estimating emotional states, moods, affects of an individual and providing feedback to the individual or others are disclosed. Systems and methods that provide real time detection and monitoring of physical aspects of an individual and/or aspects of the individual's activity and means of estimating that person's emotional state or affect and change to those are also disclosed. Real time feedback to the individual about the person's emotional change, change or potential change is provided to the user, helping the user cope, adjust or appropriately act on their emotions.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR VIRTUAL COMPETITION
A system configured to be coupled with a participant of an activity. The system comprises: a participant activity monitoring unit configured for monitoring a performance of the activity by the participant; an activity information module configured for storing performance information corresponding to the activity; and a participant performance correlator configured for delivering comparative performance data based on the monitored performance of the activity by the participant and the stored performance information.
SMART ELECTRONIC WRIST DEVICE WORN BY HUMAN SUBJECTS FOR WIRELESS HEART RATE MONITORING IN REAL-TIME
Embodiments herein describe a wristband for securing a smart electronic wrist device to the human subject. A heart rate sensor, coupled to the wristband of one embodiment, attaches to the human subject, and to generate electronic signals responsive to the heart rate of the human subject. An analog to digital signal converting circuit (ADC), electronically coupled to the heart rate sensor, to receive electrical signals generated by the heart rate sensor. A digital signal encoding circuit, electronically coupled to the ADC, to convert the electrical signals to data signals. A wireless communication interface to transmit the digital signals wirelessly to a handheld phone call device. The handheld cellular device includes a physiological processor for analysis of the data signals concerning the heart rate of the human subject.

EXERCISE MACHINE CONTROLS
A method includes receiving electronic content via a network, the electronic content comprising an exercise class, and receiving user data associated with a user participating in the exercise class using an exercise machine. The method also includes generating an executable control for a user interface based at least in part on the user data, and providing the executable control, via a display of the exercise machine, while the user is participating in the exercise class. In such a method, the executable control is operable to modify a parameter of the exercise machine while the user is participating in the exercise class.
System for providing a virtual exercise place
A virtual exercise place selected by a user is displayed and the user can exercise while sharing the display of the selected virtual exercise place with another user in real time or at a different time. The system has an image information database in which location-based image data related to a virtual exercise place is stored; and an image data controller selecting from the image information database location-based image data related to a virtual exercise place received from the terminal and providing the selected location-based image data to the terminal, displaying on the terminal an exercise place image data corresponding to an exercise start location received from the terminal, receiving exercise distance information calculated by the fitness equipment, and displaying on the terminal an exercise place image data corresponding to a location moved by the exercise distance from the exercise start location.
Rowing
Among other things, a rowing technology includes a first rowing machine having an electromagnetic brake providing a resistance to a rower of the machine in each rowing stroke of a series of rowing strokes of the rower An electronic controller causes the resistance of the electromagnetic brake to vary over each rowing stroke in a profile that emulates resistance to which another rower in a shell on water or on a second rowing machine is subjected in each rowing stroke of a corresponding series of rowing strokes.
SMART ELECTRONIC WRIST DEVICE WORN BY HUMAN SUBJECTS FOR WIRELESS HEART RATE MONITORING AND NETWORKING IN REAL-TIME
Embodiments herein describe a wristband for securing the smart electronic wrist device to the human subject. The handheld cellular device is wirelessly coupled to the smart electronic wrist device to receive data concerning the human subject derived from the data hear rate signals, and is also coupled to the data communication network to transmit the data heart rate signal.
Monitoring and Tracking Athletic Activity
Tracking and monitoring athletic activity offers individuals with additional motivation to continue such behavior. An individual may track his or her athletic activity by completing goals. These goals may be represented by real-world objects such as food items, landmarks, buildings, statues, other physical structures, toys and the like. Each object may correspond to an athletic activity goal and require an amount of athletic activity to complete the goal. For example, a donut goal object may correspond to an athletic activity goal of burning 350 calories. The user may progress from goal object to goal object. Goal objects may increase in difficulty (e.g., amount of athletic activity required) and might only be available for selection upon completing an immediately previous goal object, a number of goal objects, an amount of athletic activity and the like.
